If you are a fan of wrestling on television, you are in luck with two announcements made this week. ESPN Classics will begin airing old shows from Herb Abram’s UWF from the 90s. The shows will begin airing on Tuesday, January 8th at 1am. Also this week, the National Wrestling Alliance will begin airing NWA Showcase on Colours TV on Wednesday, January 16th at 9pm on Colours TV channel 9407 on Dish Network. Now true wrestling fans will have a chance to watch wrestling on TV nearly every day of the week…
An update on Lex Luger….Luger is currently staying at the Spinal Rehabilitation Center in Marietta, Georgia. He is still paralyzed in both arms and both legs, but has begun to get feeling back in all four extremities. The official diagnosis was that he suffered a spinal stroke. He collapsed in a hotel room on Friday, October 19, when he was in San Francisco for a wrestling convention.
There are a number of shows this weekend with some top indy wrestling talent all across the midwest….
In Indianapolis, Insanity Pro Wrestling presents Animosity at the Fountain Square Salvation Army, 1337 S Shelby Street this Saturday night….Doors Open 6:00 PM…Bell Time 7:00 PM….Admission $12.00…Kids 10 and Under $7.00…………CARLTON KAZ, DRAKE YOUNGER, MIKE QUACKENBUSH, OSYRIS, BILLY ROC are all scheduled on the card plus many more
In Marion, Indiana, Extreme Wrestling Federation, welcomes ECW Original The Sandman to the EWF Arena, 3400 S Adams Street this Saturday. He will face General Lee in the main event. Also scheduled to appear EWF Champion Big Ric Cannon, Wildman Rogers, Locked N’ Loaded, & more…Tickets for this event are $15 for VIP Ringside, $12 for General Admission…for more information go to ewfarena.com
In Columbus, Indiana, Hoosier Pro Wrestling this Saturday will feature a 4-corners of Pain match between Ox Harley and Pastor Pain at the HPW Arena on the Bartholemew County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 6:45 and belltime is at 7:45pm. Also scheduled on the card are Diceman Ronnie Vegas, Bo Bo Brazil, Jr, Flash Flanigan, the Soul Shooters and many more. Other shows this Saturday will include, Supreme Championship Wrestling with their weekly show at 821 W Main Street in Madison, Indiana with a 7:30pm belltime….United States Wrestling Federation at the Old McKinney Gym in McKinney, Kentucky starting at 7:30pm….Mountain Wrestling Association at the Estill Street Jubilee in Mount Sterling, Kentucky starting at 7:30pm…Ohio Championship Wrestling at the National Guard Armory in Ashland, Kentucky starting at 7:30pm….Northern Wrestling Federation at the Community Center in Buford, Ohio starting at 8pm…..New Era Wrestling of Ohio at the Sports of All Sorts in Springdale, Ohio starting at 8pm….and Global Wrestling Alliance at the UAW Hall in Lima, Ohio starting at 7:30pm.
