IWF Heavyweight Title Body Bag Match Tops Winter Warfare Card:
Live Events this Saturday & Sunday @ West Paterson, NJ

(WEST PATERSON, NJ)- The Independent Wrestling Federation kicks off 2008 with a bang as Winter Warfare Weekend live events take place this Saturday, January 19, 7:30 pm and Sunday, January 20, 4 pm at IWF Centre, 32 Willow Way, West Paterson, NJ. Here is a preview of the upcoming cards.

Day one Saturday, January 19th features a Body Bag Match for the IWF Heavyweight Title as two-time champion Tony Torres battles former champion Franciz with Commissioner Rich Ross. The Latin Revolution leader has battled the 340-pound mastodon tooth-and-nail for nearly six months in singles matches, tag team matches, street fights and Texas Death matches. But the only way this match ends is when one man places his unconscious opponent inside a body bag. “Doctor” Ross, as he prefers to be called for this contest, wants Franciz to perform a physical autopsy on Torres and bring the gold back to The Ross Family.

An IWF American Title Match features champion Kevin Knight defending in a bout where his opponent will be selected by the corrupt Commissioner. Ross wants the American Title away from Knight, who swiped the gold from The Ross Family five months ago.

The IWF Tag Team Titles are up for grabs as two-time champions Justin Corino and Frank Scoleri defend against the unlikely combination of Biggie Biggs and Mike Jenkins. After Jenkins’ former partner was flattened by Franciz last month, Mike has selected veteran Biggie Biggs in an effort to pry the belts away from the “Pretty Smart” championship duo of the narcissistic Corino and the literary bookworm Scoleri.

In a return bout for the IWF Junior Heavyweight Title, popular diva Jana takes on champion Chris Steeler. Jana, who already holds a victory over Steeler, nearly took the title from Chris in December, and looks to make lightning strike twice and capture the Junior crown.

In singles action, former Junior Champion Antonio Rivera of Latin Revolution tangles with former American Champion Simply Stellar Travis Blake of The Ross Family.

A tag team affair January 19th pits Jason Roberts and rookie Nes Lopez against Bryan Harley and Evan Schwartz. Also appearing are IWF newcomer Cameron Matthews who has competed in the upper Northeast area, Kristina, BPA Barry and more.

The card for day two Sunday, January 20th kicks-off at 4 pm. The Main Event features an IWF Heavyweight Title Match as champion Tony Torres wages war with another former kingpin, BoneCrusher Sampson of The Ross Family. However, Commissioner Ross is banned from ringside by the Championship Committee! But will Torres still hold the gold as he enters his second bout in two days against a Ross Family combatant?

In an IWF American Title Match, champion Kevin Knight squares off against the mastodon Franciz. Should Franciz capture the Heavyweight Title the previous evening, this bout will be for his newly won crown.

IWF Junior Heavyweight Champion Chris Steeler finally puts his title on the line against former champion Antonio Rivera, who at last gets his rematch. Rivera, the longest reigning Junior Champion in IWF history, was upended by Steeler in November. Now, Antonio wants his title back and plans to take it from Steeler, or Jana, or whomever holds the gold on January 20th.

In singles action, Biggie Biggs meets Frank Scoleri; Mike Jenkins opposes Justin Corino; and Dangerous Dan takes to the mat against Travis Blake.
