Updated Information for ¡Dia de los Dangerous! this Sunday!

We received word at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla offices early Friday morning that due to the severe winter weather hitting the Northeast, Austin Aries flight had been canceled, and that we would have to make alternate arrangements. Unfortunately, due to the last minute nature of the cancelation, combined with Aries’ schedule, and the numerous other cancelations and rebookings that occurred in New York, we were not able to secure a flight for Austin Aries that would allow him to make it to Los Angeles in time for ¡Dia de los Dangerous! this Sunday. Please rest assured that we will divert more funds to Dino Winwood’s Climate Controlling Contraption, which is still in the initial design phase.

New International Wrestling Association Champion Ricky Vega (also known as Machete in TNA) joined Between the Ropes in-studio on February 20th to discuss working for TNA, wrestling in the IWA, and more.

Vega spoke about his time in Total Nonstop Action. “TNA was a really good stepping stone for me, because I was able to get connected with IWA in Puerto Rico. I don’t know what’s going on there (TNA) now, but I’m certainly fortunate for the opportunity to have been there. I got my name out there a little bit there.”

New England Championship Wrestling returned to the National Guard Armory in Quincy, MA this past Saturday night, February 16, in front of a standing room only crowd for GENESIS 7: BATTLE OF THE GIANTS.The opening contest was the finals of the tournament to crown new NECW Tag Team Champions, the team of “Rocket” Fred Curry, Jr. and Chase Del Monte defeated Bryce Andrews and Vain Valentino to win the titles following a tandem Samoan drop – top rope neck breaker combo.

The second match was a grudge match between DC Dillinger accompanied by Sean Gorman and “The Golden Greek” Alex Arion. Arion picked up the win with a schoolboy roll up on Dillinger. After the match, DC attacked “The Golden Greek”, crashing his head through a metal chair. As Dillinger prepared to wind up and hit Arion with another chair to the head, Arion’s younger sister ran to the ring from the crowd and covered her brother begging DC not to hurt Alex. Dillinger was telling her to beg for her brother. Finally DC committed the disgusting act of grabbing the young lady by her hair and slapping her across the face before being reprimanded and sent to the back by NECW President, Sheldon Goldberg.
