Those who found Armageddon disappointing ought to be a lot happier with Royal Rumble, even if they may not be happy about some of the surprises.
Not that all of the shocks were negative. The ending of the Cena-Leyfield match was really exciting and fans enjoyed seeing Melina take the title from Beth Phoenix.
This was one of the strongest WWE pay per views in sometime and a good first step on the road to WrestleMania 25</I.

WWE and Columbia Records releases “VOICES: WWE the Music Vol. 9,” on January 27th and will feature never-before-available entrance music from WWE superstars Kane®, Randy Orton®, The Great Khali®, Vladimir Kozlov™, Umaga®, R-Truth™ and more - plus WWE Divas Maryse™, Eve™ and Kelly Kelly™.

Royal Rumble: Preview & Predictions!
The Kingfish Arnie Katz gets you ready for WWE’s February pay per view event!.
WWE has sometimes drawn criticism for hasty build-ups for some of its pay per view. That’s a mistake the promotion doesn’t make when it’s time to head to the biggest single payday of the year, WrestleMania.
Royal Rumble will see WWE shift into high gear and gain the momentum that will sweep it through this PPV, No Way Out and, finally, WrestleMania 25.
This is not a show at which stories will come to shattering climaxes. It’s a transitional show, but don’t worry, WWE has put together a card of very compelling matches.

About the Report Cards
Each month, I issue a report card for RAW. I examine and grade the promotion in all the vital areas. I discuss strengths and weaknesses and chart the ups and downs. The grades in parentheses are for the previous report card.
WWE is fond of calling Royal Rumble the start of the road to WrestleMania. In one sense, that’s certainly true. What happens at the Royal Rumble has a direct bearing on what’s in store for WWE’s biggest annual event.
In another way, you could say that the show is already on the road to WrestleMania. Everything that has happened leading up to the Royal Rumble is part of storylines that are meant to carry WWE into WM.
