New England Championship Wrestling kicked off 2009 with SNOWBRAWL this past Saturday night, January 10th hailing from the National Guard Armory in Quincy , MA .
In the opening contest, “The Real Deal” Brandon Locke defeated Antonio “The Promise” Thomas in a closely fought contest with an Oklahoma roll. After the match, although visibly upset at the outcome, “The Promise” shook hands with “The Real Deal” in a show of good sportsmanship.
In what many paying fans are calling the best womens show they’ve seen all year, WSU returned to Boonton, NJ with another double-dvd taping filled with great wrestling, drama and excitement. Both shows built the excitement to a fever pitch as we head to the 2nd Anniversary Show on March 7th.
To start off this edition of Shawn’s Thoughts, I have to say I haven’t been impressed with TNA PPV’s for a long time, but tonight’s actually did impress me. There were some great matches, with very few matches that made me want to get another beverage. That’s a big change from previous PPV’s. So let’s go down the rundown.

The Kingfish Arnie Katz gets you ready for TNA’s December pay per view event!.
TNA is building it’s January payer per view, Genesis, around three matches that put members of the Main Event Mafia against representatives of the TNA Frontline. Topping the card is the long-awaited rematch between Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett.
TNA almost always gives fans an exciting show, but this time the luster of the match-ups is a little dimmer due to the absence of Samoa Joe and Brother Ray. Expect this card to settle few issues but do a fairly good job of setting up for some climactic matches at the February PPV.

Our resident philosopher, Jay Shannon, breaks out the crystal ball and tea leaves to predict the winners and losers in Sunday’s PPV.
Genesis should be a decent PPV. They have several solid matches. This PPV will likely get passed by many people, since Royal Rumble is so close at hand. The budget isn’t there for both, with most people. It’s a real shame, because this card is going to rock the house. Let’s take a look.
