Beginning in 2006, Ring Of Honor has presented the “Supercard of Honor” event as a showcase of its talent, as well as international wrestling talent from across the globe. Whether it be stars from Dragon Gate in crazy 6-man action, Jimmy Jacobs and BJ Whitmer in a bloody cage match, or Nigel and Aries giving it their all for the ROH World Title, the past couple years have presented ROH fans with the best wrestling events of their respective years.

Destination X was a thorough disappointment. It wasn’t exactly terrible, but it certainly didn’t measure up to the standards most fans have for pay per view wrestling. It came off as tepid and uninspired, two things you can never say about a card that hits the target.

The Ultimate X match was good, if predictable, and the Sting vs. Angle main event was pretty good, too, but most of the other matches would’ve been weak on iMPACT, let alone Destination C

Our resident philosophers, Jay Shannon, pays tribute to the men and women who helped establish Wrestlemania as the greatest wrestling card of all time. These great performers are gone…but never forgotten.

With the recent passing of Andrew “Test” Martin, I got to thinking about other stars that we’ve lost over the years. As part of my Wrestlemania series, I wanted to take a few minutes to pay my respects to and bring up a few remembrances of some of the best in the business. While they’ve moved on to the next reality, their legacies will shine like the noon-day sun, forever. I dedicate this column to my own late wife, Linda, a life-long wrestling fan who sat with me for 14 of the previous 24 Wrestlemanias. I watch this year’s show…for both of us.
