OWW Wrestler of the Week: Randy Orton
Our resident philosopher, Jay Shannon, looks at the new WWE champ, Randy Orton. Orton nailed his finisher, the R-K-O, on Triple H to take the gold at Backlash

Backlash saw all three top belts change hands. Randy Orton joined forces with Ted DiBiase (Jr.) and Cody Rhodes to battle HHH, Batista and Shane McMahon. Despite a DQ clause, where if any member of HHH’s team got DQ’d, Randy would get the belt, he didn’t need the clause. Orton blasted HHH with his finisher to become the new WWE champ. The troubled Orton has overcome a rough start to stand as the top man on Raw. He is this week’s OWW Wrestler of the Week.

The Impact Insight for 4/24/09
Ourresident philosopher, Jay Shannon, took a look at the actions and changes over on TNA.

TNA has a new World Champ, Mick Foley. Tonight, Mick had several surprises in store for TNA. Plus, a former Extreme Superstar made his first Impact appearance and a former WWE Tag Team champion showed up, under a new identity.

TNA opened up with a look back at Lockdown. It was filled with multiple title changes. Team 3D won their 22nd World title. Angelina Love shocked the world by taking the Knockouts title from Kong. Mick Foley defeated Sting for the World title. Plus, Bobby Lashley arrived in TNA.

Backlash: Preview & Predictions!
The Kingfish Arnie Katz gets you ready for WWE’s April pay per view event!.

WWE is never entirely sure how to book Backlash. It’s hard to get the hype machine rolling after the all-out effort for WrestleMania, yet the promotion doesn’t want to just toss away the show, either.

Some huge feuds could finally come to climaxes at Backlash, especially the Hardy-Hardy and Cena-Edge battles. At the same time, whatever the result of the three-on-three, it is likely that WWE will do at least one more confrontation after this one.
