Night of Champions: Preview & Predictions!
The Kingfish Arnie Katz gets you ready for WWE’s pay per view event!.

Night of Champions, WWE’s late-July pay per view, is the transition show that leads to one of WWE’s second-biggest event of the year, >I>SummerSlam. The company has found it hard to put together hot-weather attractions and is experimenting this year with some new approaches.

This PPV is a distant cousin of the old WCW Clash of Champions concept. Skeptics to the contrary notwithstanding, but putting almost all the titles on the line in matches that feature legitimate contenders looks like a potential winner. It sure looks like a strong card with plenty of in-ring action.

Let’s look at the scheduled matches and delves into what fans might expect from Night of Champions.

My Night of Champions Predictions
Our resident philosopher breaks out the crystal ball, tea leaves and lucky coin to try and figure out the winners, losers and future impacts from Sunday’s Pay-per-view.

I’m actually excited about Night of Champions. This card has the potential to be one of the best “B-list” PPVs in a long time. I’ve already placed my order (on Wednesday) so that I can be sure to watch it. I’ve got friends and family scheduled to come over and we’re all going to have a big party to watch this one.

This may be one of the toughest PPVs to predict, mainly due to the unknown future plans within the WWE for several of its stars. Every championship is one the line, some with odd twists and stipulations. Let’s see if I can make heads or tails of this wild spectacular.

ECW (7/21) Extreme Examination
Our resident philosopher looks at the good and bad of the Tuesday Night Delight, ECW

ECW presented a quartet of above average matches. It then topped off the night with another edition of the Abraham Washington talk show mess. Washington, trying his worst to be a stand-up comic, interviewed Tommy Dreamer and Christian.

Yoshi Tatsu opened the show. He came out to a great pop. His opponent was the 2008 King of the Ring, William Regal. Regal gets the award for coolest ring jacket. Regal told Yoshi that he truly despises all foreigners.
