SummerSlam Predictions

HeadLocker — Jay Shannon
My SummerSlam Predictions
Our resident philosopher breaks out the crystal ball, tea leaves and lucky coin to try and decipher the winners and losers in the summer spectacular.

While I’ve already ordered SummerSlam (it was a package deal), I’m not all that impressed. The matches are redundant and weak, for the most part. SummerSlam used to be one of the Big Four in WWE wrestling events, along with Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania and Survivor Series. Despite that, I’ll try and keep a positive mindset as I sift through the sludge, looking for something that shines.

The Katz Files – Arnie Katz
My Weekly TNA Notebook
The Kingfish Arnie Katz wrestles with some of the major issues raise by TNA’s weekly TV show.

The Handling of Taz
Bringing in Taz as Samoa Joe’s mentor and then switching him to color commentator did a great job of deflating the excitement and blunting the impact of a major on-air personality.

The “Taz as mentor” storyline added up to nothing. There were no great scenes between Joe and Taz and the Samoan Submission Machine lost one and won one while Taz stood at ringside

Had Taz’s debut as the mentor sparked anything interesting, it might’ve justified und killing fan reaction when Taz came out to the announce table on the 8/20 episode of iMPACT.

The TNA Impact (08/20) Insight
Our resident philosopher looks at the all-new Impact that came about after Hard Justice.

The fall-out from Hard Justice came into full view on this week’s episode. TNA also made one of the biggest changes in it’s 7-year history. TNA Impact would never be the same.

The show opened with the winners and losers at Hard Justice. Samoa Joe took the X-Division title from Homicide. Cody Deaner began His first run as Knockout champion. Yes, you read that right. Kevin Nash regained his Legends title, while Kurt Angle retained his.
