Imagine you’re Vince McMahon.

You suspend Rey Mysterio, one of your highest profile star after he is found to be violating the company’s Wellness Policy. Mysterio stated in an Mexican newspaper interview, that “he was suspended for a drug he was using for his knee and arm.” As per Wellness Program policy, Mysterio stated that he had a prescription for the drug, but couldn’t produce it by the requested date was unable to produce it in time to prevent his suspension due to his already being on vacation and doing a WWE promotional tour.

I haven’t watched wrestling regularly in 3 years (by choice), although I’ve been a fan for over 30 years & still follow it occasionally online. Every once in a while I read about an upcoming PPV & decide to see it. This was one I wanted to see. Rather than review every match, I’d like to explain what I liked & didn’t like & how it relates to me ending my love affair with modern wrestling 3 years ago.

The Kingfish Arnie Katz gets you ready for WWE’s all-submission September .

Breaking Point, WWE’s September PPV, is built around the theme of submission matches. They’ll be tap-tap-tapping on a card that has few fresh pairings. WWE is banking on a few high-visibility contests to pull the card through even though some of the lesser matches aren’t very appealing.

Let’s look at the scheduled matches and delves into what fans might expect from Breaking Point.

WWE rolls out, yet another, PPV. This time around, it’s all submissions. Great concept…lousy matches. This has to be one of the weakest PPVs in a long time. Nobody Asked Me (about TNA) , But…
The Kingfish Arnie Katz continues a “Katz Files” tradition with answers to off-the-wall questions that no one asked him and some observations about things that stuck in his mind as he watched a whole lot of wrestling.iMPACT ratings dip exactly what you expected? The 9/4 episode was the first good one in about three weeks – and the ratings work by momentum. A bad show one week hurts the rating of the following week’s program. Unfortunately, it isn’t quite as easy to get those people back with a good show, because they have stopped watching the show and won’t return until, and unless, they hear intriguing word-of-mouth.

I was watching wrestling this week and…

… Doesn’t TNA have to regret starting that dumb feud between Madison Rayne and her two former partners? They’d probably love to just plug her into the beautiful people until Angelina Love can return. They may do it anyway.

The Pilot, a newspaper in Southern Pines, NC, reported that Jeff Hardy was arrested on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills and possession of anabolic steriods, and is in the Moore County, NC, jail.
