The Impact (12/3) Insight

HeadLocker — Jay Shannon
The TNA (12/3) iMPAC Insight
Our resident philosopher looks at a chaotic edition of TNA Impact.

Dixie Carter had more to share with the fans. Also, The Pope reached out to an old enemy. The newest member of the World Elite would partner with the group’s leader to face James Storm and Robert Roode.

The show opened with a look at Hulk Hogan coming to TNA. Mick Foley is freaked about Hogan coming in to take Foley’s spot. Foley also knows that Hogan is bringing friends to the party.

This Week’s Episode: Sexy’s Got a Secret?

Dixie planned to talk about Hogan, Sting and Jeff Jarrett.

The Death of Eddie “Umaga” Fatu

I don’t watch modern wrestling regularly anymore…haven’t in 3 years or so. But I still read Meltzer’s website (the free info, anyway) on a daily basis, just to keep up with old favorites.

The Samoan family has had more influence (and more successful wrestlers) for the (W)WWF/E than any other family in wrestling. Starting with High Chief Peter Maivia, then Afa & Sika, Samu, Tonga Kid, Fatu/Rikishi, Kokina/Yokozuna, The Rock, Rosie, Jamal/Umaga. Then there was also the extended family, as Polynesians go…if you’re from the islands, they consider you family…Jimmy Snuka, King Tonga/Haku/Meng. Afa Jr/Manu & Sim Snuka have yet to make their mark for WWE, but they were there for a short time.’

My TNA (11/26) Notebook

The Katz Files – Arnie Katz
My Weekly TNA Notebook
The Kingfish Arnie Katz delves into points raised by the 12/3 iMPACT.

What Did She Say?
They say that Dixie Carter may be a little thin-skinned. If that’s true, her best course would be either to stay behind the scenes or get something to say when she does appear on camera. All the phony announcer-based excitement couldn’t disguise the fact that her segment didn’t give fans any significant information about any of the topics she ducked.

Let’s not forget that it wasn’t actually an interview. It was a two-person dramatic scene pretending to be an interview. That being the case, its hard to see why Dixie Carter would allow All those subjects to be mentioned in the interview if she had no intention of telling the fans anything.

Her handling of the Jarrett situation was downright insulting. Her feigned ignorance preceded Double J’s appearance (via phone) by mere minutes. She didn’t even bother to support the storyline!
