Rating the TNA Roster 3

The Katz Files
Rating the TNA Roster 3

The Kingfish Arnie Katz continues a new, monthly series that rates TNA wrestlers’ recent performances, analyzes strengths and weaknesses, and even charts future courses for major TNA stars.

Part 3

Check the first column in this series for the long-winded explanation if you haven’t yet read it.
Jesse Neal
Mic: F
Ring: C-
Comment: There’s no telling how good (or bad) Jesse Neal is or will be, based on what he has done so far. He is green and needs a lot more work somewhere that will let him develop a decent character and some facility with the mic and in the ring. At this point, he’s more like a student than a major league performer.

AS I SEE IT: The Daniel Bryan Saga

AS I SEE IT

Pro Wrestling: Between the Sheets
PWBTS.com

From last week’s column:

I hope one thing that happens with this rebranding is a way in which wrestlers like Bryan Danielson …be used the right way. When Vince McMahon finally took a chance on presenting a unque character … and let CM Punk be CM Punk, it worked pretty well…. I hope McMahon lets someone like Danielson, a character who actually uses submissions and brags about being “best in the world” actually use the gimmick people know Danielson for using.

Looks like McMahon’s not starting very well. Neal Jones at InYourHeadonline.com reported last Friday that there’s already been a minor name change of Bryan Danielson this past week on Florida Championship Wrestling to “Daniel Bryan”. (more…)

Against All Odds Predictions

HeadLocker — Jay Shannon
My Against All Odds Predictions

Our resident philosopher breaks out his crystal ball, tea leaves and lucky coin to try and figure out the winners and losers of TNA’s next PPV.

Team 3D v The Nasty Boys

The Backstory: The Nasties came into TNA as part of Hogan’s influx of flunkies. They trashed the Team 3D locker room and made fun of the tag team specialists. Brother Ray and Brother Devon came back to beat the Hell out of Knobbs and Sags.

Predictions: In every reality, except wrestling, Team 3D should make The Nasties look iike the Mulkey Brothers. In the Hogan regime, I think the Nasties are going to be made to look good. It’s going to be one heck of a challenge but Team 3D is just that good. I honestly think this one will go to double DQ.

Predicted Winners: Double DQ
Grade: C (at best)

8 Card Stud Tournament
Opening Rounds:

Hernandez v Matt Morgan

Prediction: Morgan is one of Hogan's "boys" so I expect him to get the win. I don't expect any long-tem friction between the two. I'd love to see Homicide come to Hernandez's side but TNA still likes to push Homicide as "Un Vato Loco" (A Crazy Dude), so that's not going to happen.

Predicted Winner: Matt Morgan
Grade: B
