Funk’s Corner – Breakfast with WWE Hall of Fame Inductee, the “Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase and Family

Monday night on Raw, one of my early students of professional wrestling, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase was announced as the first inductee to the WrestleMania 26 Hall of Fame.

After the loss of his father, Iron Mike Dibiase of a heart attack in the ring in Lubbock, Texas, Ted Dibiase said to me, “If this business was good enough for my mom and dad, It is good enough for me. This is what I want to do.” (Ted’s mother was one of the most beautiful Ladies in the wrestling business, Helen Hilde. Iron Mike Dibiase, Amateur wrestler from University of Nebraska, was one of the toughest men in the business)

Scott Hall was the guest on the February 10th, 2010 edition of In Your Head Online Radio available at www.InYourHeadOnline.com hosted by Jack E. Jones, Oneinchbiceps and Barbie Richards.

Scott Hall joins the gang to open the show, so there is no need to wait to hear from the Bad Guy!

Hall bust his ass and made a lot of money, and though he was done until Nash kept on calling him to get to work. Hall remembers saying to old guys that their time was up. He is in the same position but his attitude is for the young guys to prove themselves. Hall is in TNA to “rock it one more time”. Hall wants the young guys to prove themselves as being “good”. He is sick of hearing the young guys moaning about not getting a push.

Memories of The Great One, Jack Brisco

Just after losing wrestling’s greatest friend, Georgie Makropoulos, we’ve now lost it’s modern-day greatest athlete with those amazing amateur credentials of his that Kurt Angle told me in 2001, “blew me away.” This guy was and will always be an incredible talent.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jack Brisco, from his times coming into my home base territory (Los Angeles/Lebell) and kept in touch with him ever since. I worked as one of the ringside photogs for our program sold to the fans and Jack had perhaps the greatest ever 10 minute broadway in Feb 1973 against Terry Funk underneath Sheik and Victor Rivera. They were the opening match if you can believe it, for a No. 1 contender’s tournament for Rivera’s America’s Title, which Terry actually went on to win.

Sunset Flip Presents: Hogan’s Friends

This week, I want to take a look at Hogan’s friends in TNA. When Hogan and Bischoff took the reigns of TNA, people figured that he would bring some of his friends in such as the Nasty Boys and Brutus Beefcake. Some were right and some weren’t. As I was watching on January 4th, I said to myself “I would be shocked if all these people stayed within the next two months”. Some have stayed around such as the Nasty Boys while others, such as Jeff Hardy, have not been seen since January 4th. Are their times up? Or can they contribute to TNA? That is what I will take a look at in this column.
