The Katz Files – Arnie Katz
My Weekly TNA Notebook
The Kingfish Arnie Katz provides insight and analysis based on the 3/4 episode of iMPACT.
The biggest shoot promotional war since WWE put WCW in the cold, cold ground starts in earnest on Monday, March 8th. That’s when iMPACT moves into head-to-head competition with RAW.
The March 4th iMPACT certainly reflected the importance of the 3/8 episode. Apart from a few perfunctory matches, it was nonstop talking heads, hyping Hulk Hogan and the first Monday night iMPACT
The episode has to be viewed in that light or it makes absolutely no sense. It may not have made all that much sense in any case, but you can’t blame Hogan and Bischoff for shaping the two-hour program into a commercial for the pivotal first Monday iMPACT.
Let’s look at some of what was said and done and see how it will affect TNA going forward.
Sunset Flip Presents Thinking Positive
By Jim Boy Star

This week, the talk of the wrestling world, is the new Monday Night Wars between WWE and TNA. There are so many goods things going on in the wrestling world. As someone that has seen some of the worst programming that WWE has ever offered in the past year, it’s tough for me to find the positives.
Reported by Mike Aldren:
The Harris County (Texas) Medical Examiners office officially listed the death of Edward “Umaga” Fatu as accidental, caused from acute toxicity due to the combined effects of Hydrocodone, Carisoprodol and Diazepam.
Fatu, 36, suffered two heart attacks, the first on the evening of December 4 at his home in Spring, Texas, and the second in the hospital the next day while on life support. All three drugs under various brand names are reportedly drugs of choice for a number of pro wrestlers used to kill pain, ease anxiety, aid sleep, or when abused simply taken for recreation purposes. Fatu, who was under contract to WWE from 2002-2003 and 2005-2009, was released in June 2009 following a second Wellness Program violation and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility.
If you missed the premiere of Dragon Gate USA’s “Fearless” PPV last night, it’s not too late if you have iN DEMAND. It will replay TODAY (Saturday) at noon and Sunday at 1pm (both Eastern time) on all systems with iN DEMAND. Set your DVR or watch it live with just a click of your remote.
Hey, there’s no football or baseball on. It’s still chilly out. Spend your weekend afternoon with DGUSA and see some incredible action. You know you’ll get your money’s worth with DGUSA’s affordable PPV price. Don’t listen to us, here’s what the reviews are saying:

National Wrestling Superstars Makes A Big Impact At Event In Bergen County’s Dumont High School on Friday, March 5th
Kicking off the first of three shows this weekend (one being a make up from last weeks’s snow-out in Madison), National Wrestling Superstars invaded Bergen County’s Dumont High School with lots of thrills and excitement that had the crowds on the edge of their seats from the opening bell.
The opening contest saw NWS Cruiserweight champion Joey Janella retain his coveted title against former champion J.D. Smooth. Smooth, who has complained to anyone who would listen about not getting a rematch, did get the match he wanted but the results weren’t as planned as Janella pinned him in the middle of the ring for the 1-2-3
