Part 3

Hardcore Justice, largely irrelevant to the rest of TNA, is now history. The Whole F’n Show, perhaps the most appealing free card TNA has ever mounted, could bring quite a few changes and surprises.

So, in the quiet before the storm, let’s continue the August analysis and ratings…

Sunset Flip: To The Lost Wrestling Fans

Sunset Flip Presents
AMessage To The Lost Wrestling Fans
By Jim Boy Star

To The Lost Wrestling Fan,

My name is Jim and I realize that you used to watch pro wrestling. I wanted to write you this letter in hopes that you will give it another chance.

I understand you stopped watching shortly after WWE/F bought out WCW and ECW was put out of business. There were a few instances when you probably came back to see what was happening and then stopped watching again. You may have even watched for the trainwreck of a return of Bret “The Sellout” Hart.

Ultimately, for all your returns, something happened along the way and you stopped watching WWE programming. Therein, lies your problem. You are watching WWE programming. There is a whole wrestling world outside of WWE that I feel you need to explore.

From the trivial to the not-so-trivial…

So let me get this straight.

WWE owns the word “extreme”? Even EVOO….er, EV 2.0?

Everyone knows that they have the legal right to the letters ECW; but now WWE, not being content to annhiliate TNA in buyrates, PPVs revenue, weekly ratings, and pretty much everything else short of match quality from time to time, now has intellectual property/copyright lawyer Jerry McDevitt chomping at the bit… suggesting that even a reference to ECW may infringe on copyrights.

Part 2

Have you noticed how many of the cronies Hulk Hogan brought into TNA have become tremendous stars, great performers and stellar gate attractions? In case you haven’t noticed, the answer is: Not Many. The Nasty Boys, the Band, Sean Morley and Bubba the Love Sponge came and went in a hurry and it wouldn’t be a shock to see a couple more of that crowd resume their retirements.

Meanwhile, there are a lot of men and women working on the mic and in the ring for TNA. Let’s continue the analysis of how each of them is doing as of the first week in August, 2010.

NWA Anarchy Hostile Environment Report

7/31 NWA Anarchy Hostile Environment Live Report

By Larry Goodman

——————————————————————————–

NWA Anarchy celebrated their 5th anniversary with Hostile Environment 2010 featuring the annual War Games match on a steamy Saturday night in Cornelia, Georgia.  On the plus side, the show drew close to 200 people at $20 each, the largest gate for a major Anarchy show since Fright Night 2008 (Hardcore Hell ’09 drew a few more people but I believe tickets were $15). It was very hot crowd, reminiscent of Anarchy’s early days.

Main Event – Fatal Four Way
Davey Richards

Jimmy Rave
-vs-
Sonjay Dutt
-vs-
Kyle O’Reilly

This match features four of the best in the independents today.  Each at various stages of their career and each with a varied set of wrestling style.  Davey Richards arguably one of the best in world, right beside guys like Bryan Danielson, has been talking about retirement at the end of this year but still wants to prove he deserves the moniker of best in the world.  Jimmy Rave has been at the top of the mountain in other promotions but lately as been quite.  Jimmy says he’s not on a comeback trail but rather out to prove he has never lost a step and that he is still the crown jewel of professional wrestling.  Sonjay Dutt much like Jimmy Rave has been at the top but rather quite as of late.  Sonjay says he is still the guru of greatness,  Finaly there is Kyle O’Reilly, although he may have the most to prove he feels he has what it takes to match up with any of the other three.  Who will make their statement the loudest?  Who will RISE in this epic encounter?
