I remember watching Professional Wrestling from the Marigold Arena in Chicago on television with commentator Jack Brickhouse. I watched Lou Thesz, Walter Palmer (Originator of the Spinning Toe Hold) Indian Chief, Don Eagle and Dory Funk Sr.

In those days the only way to preserve live video was a method called Kinescope whereby live video images were transferred to 16 or 35 millimeter film. Kinescope could be reproduced and bicycled to major cities for television programming, professional wrestling being hugely popular.

OWW Radio “Thanksgiving” episode recap

***The group discussed the Survivor Series PPV and would they have chosen to give the Miz the WWE championship on the PPV or Monday Night Raw, John Cena’s “farewell” speech on Raw, the return of the King of the Ring Tournament next Monday, a recap of the talent releases over the past week and their feelings on the return of the WWE Tough Enough competition.

***Kevin K. Scott of Under the Ring joined the program to recap last Thursday’s TNA iMPACT, Dixie Carter’s return to the promotion this week, TNA’s announced trip to the United Arab Emirates and whether going international is a good idea when they are having trouble filling seats in US venues plus Mick Foley’s recent comments on a proposed creative move to turn him heel.

This past Saturday, there were two pro wrestling events going on in my area. Ironically, they were probably about the same distance away from my house. One was Evolve Wrestling, which I have written reviews for on this site before. The other was Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s November to Remember.

I decided to go to Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s November to Remember. Originally Dan Maff was supposed to fight Teddy Hart in the main event. However, that was changed and the change made me go to this show and I am very glad that it did. This is not to say I hate Teddy Hart, but I thought the change made it more interesting.
