  3. Jaison Moore profile Jeff Peterson Cup

In May 2003 IPW Hardcore promoters created the JEFF PETERSON MEMORIAL CUP in tribute to the fallen cruiserweight star who passed in 2001 after a long battle with cancer. Since then the event has garnered a list of international stars who supported the event and honored Jeff’s memory by putting on five star caliber bouts. The previous winners were “Reckless Youth” Tom Carter, Justice, Chris Sabin, Milano Collection AT and Chris Hero. Alan Wojcik: Having known Jeff Peterson before he passed away, what does it mean to you to be selected for the 2008 tournament and please share any memories you wish to about Jeff.

Jaison Moore: When I was first trying to make my way into the wrestling business Jeff Peterson was the top cruiserweight in the state of Florida as well as getting national exposure in ECWA. I would attend shows and watch him have great matches, knowing my size I realized that once I did get into the wrestling business I would also be a cruiserweight. At that point I realized I had alot of challenges in front of me. Once I finally made my debut Jeff was already undergoing treatment and was retired from in ring action. I did have the pleasure of Jeff stepping in as a Special Guest Referee in two of my higher profile matches early in my career, both of them were Four Way Elimiantaion Matches, the first match consisted of WWE/WCW/ECW’s Juventud Guerrera, WCW’s Kid Romeo, Naphtali. The other was a match for IPW Hardcore Wrestling with Justice, Cynic, Seijin Akki. It means alot to me to have finally earned a spot in this years Jeff Peterson Cup. It is always an incredible tournament and this year all proceeds are going to a great cause.

Alan Wojcik: Who were you trained by and what are some of your memories of that process. Does it differ from other schools you have been part of as a trainer?

Jaison Moore: I was trained at the Florida Wrestleplex which was operated by IPW in St, Petersburg, FL. I had the advantage of being trained by a lot of different wrestlers, all with different styles. Dave Tristani and Ron Niemi opened a lot of doors for me and I don’t know if I would be where I am today without them.

Alan Wojcik: Your career in Florida goes back to the fan favorite IPW Hardcore where the Peterson Cup was created. What are your memories of the promotion and its roster which includes some of the current stars in Florida like Bruce Santee, Roderick & Sedrick Strong and Erick Stevens?

Jaison Moore: IPW was insane, plain and simple. Every show they did what they had to do to push the envelope. They were untouchable. The energy at an IPW show was unbelievable.

Alan Wojcik: You began your career as Kamikaze or the Kamikaze Kid. But what led you to going as Jaison Moore?

Jaison Moore: In every wrestlers career there is a point where they feel it is time for a change. At the time it felt right.

Alan Wojcik: You have been part of Full Impact Pro for several years. Do you have a favorite opponent and what separates FIP from the other southeast promotions?

Jaison Moore: My favorite opponents of all time have to be The Heartbreak Express. Superstar Sean and Fabulous Phil make up one of the greatest tag teams in the country. FIP is a great mix of the best talent Ring of Honor and Florida has to offer, there are always very interesting & quality match ups. It translates into a great DVD product.

Alan Wojcik: Over your career you have been in the ring with some of the legends in the business including Greg Valentine and the late Chris Candido. Talk about both of those unique experiences.

Jaison Moore: Greg Valentine is a great guy, I had the opportunity to wrestle him at a Northeast Wrestling show in Jacksonville, FL. It was a great learning experience. He was very professional and definitely a legend in the wrestling business. Chris Candido and I tagged against Steve Madison and Lex Lovett for a promotion named New Breed Pro Wrestling. Chris was awesome, I was so excited when he debuted in TNA because if anyone deserved it, it was him. He is greatly missed.

Alan Wojcik: When one reads the online reports, they show Pro Wrestling Riot is bringing in a good sized crowd. What do you think contributes to its success and do you see it expanding out of New Port Richey?

Jaison Moore: Pro Wrestling Riot is supported by the fans. They come religiously every show to support their favorite wrestlers and heckle their least favorite. It is a top quality show with the BEST talent in the state. Mix the best Florida talent with guys like Jack Evans, Roderick Strong and Erick Stevens you get one explosive show.

Alan Wojcik: When you look over the other competitors for this year’s event, is there someone you see as the main obstacle to you winning the whole thing?

Jaison Moore: First round I am wrestling ROH’s Rhett Titus who has been very impressive lately in ROH including his matches with Delirious. If I can make it past Titus in my bracket is former WWE Developmental talent Brad Attitude who I hear is very talented and Nooie Lee, who took me to a 15 minute time limit draw at the last Pro Wrestling Riot event. Past that you have incredible wrestlers like Jon Davis, Kenny King, Erick Stevens, Gran Akuma the list goes on and on.

Alan Wojcik: Besides being a wrestler you have been running several internet based companies. Talk about them and what services you offer to wrestlers?

Jaison Moore: I am a website and graphic designer, it is my passion as much as wrestling is. My website address is www.powerslampromotions.com, this site is dedicated to helping wrestlers advertise themselves whether it’s a website, T-shirts, autographed photos or DVDs. I offer alot of services. Very reasonable prices and top quality results.
