WWE Superstar and former member of the Shield
Another huge weekend of wrestling is on tap this week when Jersey Championship Wrestling (JCW) returns to Hasbrouck Heights on Friday night March 28th, and debuts in Queens, NYC on Saturday night March 29th. Marquee names will be in the ring on both nights, headlined by Jerry “The King” Lawler on Saturday.
The weekend kicks off at the Hasbrouck Heights VFW with the return of the Jersey J-Cup Tournament. A new wrinkle is brought into the event this year as it will feature Tag Team matches, with the eventual winners being crowned the first JCW Tag Team Champions of the new era.
The brackets contain a mix of both youth and experience. In one bracket, “The Cold-Hearted Playa” Danny DeManto and Nicky Oceans of The Playas Club take on the father and son team of El Bandido and JCW Extreme Champion Bandido Jr, “Los Bandidos”. Chris Dickinson and Aaron Epic will also team up against “Team MonstaCide”, made up of former TNA X-Division and Tag Team Champion Homicide and his partner Monsta Mack, a former holder of a JCW Tag Team Championship belt.
In the other bracket, The Spirit Squad (Kenny and Mikey) will be led by SoCal Val in an effort to avenge their December loss to Steve and Tony, The Down Boyz. The winner of this match will advance to the semi-finals to face the winner of what promises to be a high-energy contest, as Rhett Titus and Joey Janela square off against Steve Sterling and “Bright Lights” Jarrett Foster, Glitz & Glamour.
Hasbrouck Heights will not only see the Tag Team Championship belts awarded for the first time in the new JCW era, but the JCW Heavyweight Title will be on the line when JCW Heavyweight Champion Damien Darling defends against the man who he defeated to gain that title, “The Escort” Erik Andretti of The Playas Club.
Bell time for the Jersey J-Cup Tag Team Tournament is 7:45pm. Doors open at 7pm, but you can avoid getting shut out by getting your tickets early. Ticket vendors include Roma Pizza in Hasbrouck Heights, and Curloni’s Pizza and Steve’s Mutts and Stuff in Lodi. As always, tickets can also be purchased via the JCW website at www.
Nothing will be held back when JCW debuts in New York City! The night after tag team champions are crowned, a different crown will be featured when Jerry “The King” Lawler comes to the Queensboro Elks Lodge in Elmhurst, Queens, NY! In addition to seeing in-ring action from Lawler, several exciting matches have already been announced for Saturday night, March 29th!
JCW Extreme Champion Bandido Jr. will have to recover from any tournament injuries quickly when he puts his title on the line in a 6-Man Elimination Match for the Extreme Title! Jorge Santi, 2Hot Steve Scott, Joey Janela, lucky tHURTeen, and the returning Grim Reefer will all try to take the belt from around Bandido’s waist and deal him his first ever JCW loss.
The Playas Club will be represented by “The Cold-Hearted Playa” Danny DeManto when “Princess Destroyer” Shannon Williams accompanies him to ringside to take on Maximus Sex Power in a match that will likely feature a great deal of both physical and psychological warfare!
DeManto’s Playas Club stablemates “The Escort” Erik Andretti and Nicky Oceans will team up against Kenny and Mikey of the SoCal Val led Spirit Squad. With all four combatants vying for gold the previous night, this single match could shake up the championship scene of both the JCW Heavyweight and Tag Team divisions!
In a battle of the big men, Kyle The Beast takes on the beastly Monsta Mack in a match that threatens to shake the foundation of the Queensboro Elks Lodge!
Also appearing at JCW’s New York City debut that night will be former WWE Diva and Playboy covergirl Ashley Massaro, JCW Heavyweight Champion Damien Darling, The Sons Of Kamala, Candy Cartwright, and more of your JCW favorites!
The doors for this huge event will open an hour before the 7:45pm bell time. To guarantee your seats, you can buy tickets now at The Wrestling Universe, 34-29 Francis Lewis Blvd, Flushing, Queens, or by calling the JCW ticket line at (201) 257-8621 or visiting www.
