[WWE PPV] For the second time, WWE has renamed the pay-per-view that takes place on June 7th, 2009. It’s new name is “Night Of Extreme”. [WWE News] The dark match before Raw was Kofi Kingston over Ryan Braddock; a develpmantal wrestler from FCW who was last seen in bubble wrap on Smackdown. Braddock has actually been in developmental since 2005 so they obviously see something in him. Not too long ago an idea was pitched for him to be brought in as JBL’s cousin because he was doing the gimmick with the towel tucked into his jacket, but JBL observed him wrestling and nixed it. . [TNA News] Dixie Carter wrote on the TNA website today thanking fans for their support after Impact drew it’s best rating in history last week. [ROH News] Ring of Honor will hold its first television tapings for its new slot on HDNet this weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday at the former ECW Arena (located at 7 Ritner Street) in Philadelphia, PA. [ROH News] Ring of Honor & NOAH announced that KENTA was coming back to the United States. KENTA will return to ROH competition for four upcoming events: Elizabeth, PA on March 20th, NYC on March 21st, and Houston, TX on April 3rd & 4th.

[NWA Event] The National Wrestling Alliance will be holding an event at The Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (aka ECW Arena) on August 30th, 2009. This event takes place 15 years (and a few days) after Shane Douglas threw down the NWA World Title belt in the middle of ECW Arena. In addition, he credits wrestling and the WWE with providing him a unique lesson in the art of performing. He tells Giant Magazine, “Wrestling gave me the platform to entertain crowds of twenty, thirty, forty, fifty thousand people. The experience was invaluable. ..We played Madison Square Garden every month and a half, one little stage.
