WWE superstar Randy Orton was pulled from making a shock return at the Survivor Series pay-per-view last night, because creative chiefs behind the scenes decided that the shock surrounding Sting‘s appearance was more than enough ammunition to make the show a huge success.
Orton has been out of action since a vicious attack at the hands of the Authority on November 3rd, with Seth Rollins putting the Viper out of commission with a pair of vicious curb stomps.
Originally that injury angle was supposed to come full circle at Survivor Series, with Orton slated to get involved in the battle for creative control of the company between Team Cena and Team Authority in his hometown St. Louis.
