Kane is expected to return soon after the Extreme Rules PPV. He requested time off which is why he hasn’t been seen since the 5/1 edition of Smackdown.

Jeff Hardy still hasn’t come to terms with the company on a contract extension. He is adament about wanting time off and will likely be gone after the summer.

Jim Ross suggested in his latest blog that there may be more to the MVP-Sherri Shepperd relationship than meets the eye. Ross wrote: “I talked to MVP early in the day Monday about his prom date over the weekend with The View’s Sherri Shepherd. MVP said he actually had a good time and the relationship may actually have legit legs. Love works in mysterious ways, you know? MVP said they were taking things slowly. Good plan.”

Edge is featured on the promotional poster for the Night Of Champions PPV on 7/26. The show will take place at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia with all the titles on the line.

As of yesterday, Triple H was pulled from all the advertising for the WWE Supershow this weekend in Pensacola, FL. This probably should have happened a few weeks ago.

Ken Anderson (Mr. Kennedy) is available for bookings from 9/1 through [email protected]. Serious enquiries only.

A fan at Raw in Birmingham sitting front row had his sign confiscated by WWE. It read: “Chris Benoit for Hall of Fame.” They missed the guy who had a sign opposite the hard camera which read: “Bring Back Kennedy.”

The dark match last night at the Smackdown tapings was Drew McIntyre over Jimmy Wang Yang. I believe the dark match at Raw was Sheamus over Festus.

Raw on Monday night drew a 3.4 rating averaging 4.79 million viewers on USA.

12 Rounds with John Cena opened last weekend at No. 7 at the UK Box Office. To date the movie has done a worldwide gross of $14.7 million.

The Philippine Star at http://tinyurl.com/p6n65b has a Q&A with CM Punk.
In what has become the longest rib of all-time he told the reporter that he calls himself CM Punk because people thought he dressed like a punk as a kid.

NBC aired a special last night with Brian Williams going inside the White House. President Barack Obama noted that he no longer watches political talk shows using the analogy that they remind him too much of “WWF wrestling.” Obama is actually a pro wrestling fan and he and his family recently became aquinted with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The Daily Mirror, a newspaper in the Uk, listed The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania at No. 7 in a Top 10 list of the greatest winning streaks in sports. No. 1 was Pakistani squash player Jahangir Khan who they say won 555 consecutive games between 1981 and 1986.

Story at http://tinyurl.com/r3o3zy on WWE’s expansion into Japan who quotes from Funaki who has been involved in setting up a new office for the company.

For those who subscribe to 24/7 this month you get: “This month on WWE

Samoa Joe was injured in training while on the road with TNA. He was at
the Boise State training facility yesterday and diagnosed with a torn
triceps in addition to broken fingers. He didn’t wrestle at the house
show last night in Nampa but did come out and sign some autographs. He
said he plans to work his match at Slammiversary on 5/21 but will likely
take time off to either rehab or undergo surgery following the PPV.
Surgery would put him out six months.

Today is five years to the day that TNA debuted Impact on Fox Sports Net
with the six-sided ring.

TNA announced all the dates and venues for the UK tour in January.
Between 1/23 to 1/30 2009 they will run the Glasgow Braehead Arena in

OTHER WRESTLING NEWS

The Dragon Gate group in Japan received some negative publicity this
week when one of their wrestlers, Ryo-ma, posted pictures on the
Internet which apparently showed him torturing a pet monkey that lives
in the Dragon Gate DoJo. He allegedly strangled the animal until it was
unconscious, beat it with a stick and poured scalding water over it. The
Asian arm of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment Animals) wrote to
Takashi Okamura, President of Dragon Gate, asking that Ryo-ma be
expelled from the groups roster. They also contacted the Japanese
authorities asking that Ryo-ma be criminally charged and that the monkey
be immediately confiscated. In a letter dated May 27, Jason Baker,
Director of PETA Asia-Pacific wrote to Okamura: “As you are no doubt
aware, Ryo-ma (of Dragon Gate Warrior S-5 faction) recently posted
photos on his blog of a monkey who was being tortured. The animal was
reportedly strangled until he passed out, beaten with a stick, and had
scalding-hot water poured over his body. On behalf of People for the
Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia-Pacific, our international
affiliates, and compassionate people everywhere, I respectfully ask that
you expel Ryo-ma your group as well as urge authorities to pursue
criminal charges in this matter, as applicable. Mental-health
professionals and top law enforcement officials consider cruelty to
animals to be a red flag. Many psychiatric associations identify cruelty
to animals as one of the diagnostic criteria for conduct disorders, and
the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the U.S. uses reports of
these crimes in analyzing the threat potential of suspected and known
criminals.” The grim revelation of this suffering that this animal
endured at Ryo-ma’s hands is an embarrassment to Dragon Gate. You have a
duty to send a message to wrestling fans and the general public that
your organization has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of animal
abuse. I look forward to your response so that I may share it with
concerned members of the public as well as the media. Thank you for your
time and attention to this matter.” A representative of Dragon Gate
declined to comment but confirmed that the monkey is now in good care
and has taken action again those involved.

LaTasha Marzolla, a former Playboy Playmate who years ago was under WWE
developmental in Louisville, defeated Christy Tada via TKO in the first
round of her debut MMA fight in New Orleans on 5/30. You can watch the
fight at http://tinyurl.com/qn2zu9.

Hulk Hogan called into the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show again this
week. He was in rare form. They were talking about the time around
1989/90 there was a proposed worked Hogan vs. Mike Tyson match. You can
probably guess the rest. You know, Tyson was scared of Hogan because he
thought Hogan was going to shoot on him. And they would have drawn $100
milllion on PPV. Blah…blah.

Former WWE Diva Terri Runnels is filming today with The Outdoor Chnnel
for a show called Adventure Guides.

Nothing much from Torrie Wilson on last night’s I’m A Celebrity… Get
Me Out Of Here. You will either love this show or hate it. Spencer Pratt
and his wife Heidi have apparently left. Although nobody took him
seriously Spencer in his promos was just an awesome heel. Perhaps even
on the level of a Chris Jericho.

www.carnagecrew.net has a new audio show up with Roxxi Leveaux as the
guest.

CZW runs this Saturday in Townsend, DE. More info at
