  3. Alberto El Patron Released From IMPACT Wrestling

We reported earlier that Alberto El Patron no-showed the Impact vs. Lucha Underground event in New Orleans claiming he was unwell to be there. He was however at the Impact Wrestling “Redemption” press conference just a few hours earlier and seemed fine.

Impact Wrestling has decided to release El Patron from his contract with immediate effect, according to PWInsider.

In addition to this, WNS reader William Beltrán from SÚPER LUCHAS sent the following along to WrestlingNewsSource.com:

“Yesterday, at the same time that Alberto El Patron should have been in the Lucha Underground event, he appeared drunk and then interrupted an interview and continued talking incoherently” (See video below).

William has also provided a transcript of the video.

The first guy in the interview is DJ Luian, the musical producter of Bad Bunny, a singer from Puerto Rico. Ric Flair was in a video of Bad Bunny. That guy was at the WrestleMania party last year and will be again this year.

Alberto: “No, come here (Carlito). Why you send me your brother? Go to hell, what the fuck? What is all about?”. Carlito: “I never scared him, but when he saw my brother” Alberto: “Here’s Savio… Let’s see, Savio… Clarify this to me, why did he bring me his fucking brother…? Hey, look: Have you seen the movie with that scene in which someone shout The power of Christ compels you? So it was with this fucker’s brother…! “Look, I hide myself… I need to take 25 flights to come to New Orleans, so he would not see me and I’m landing and I receive several texts: ‘Do not hide, Legend, where are you?’ And I ran, leaving mi bag in the airport, and suddenly I found myself facing his brother. It was like in a Terminator movie!

Impact Wrestling issued a statement on Saturday evening confirming the official departure of Alberto El Patron (former WWE star Alberto Del Rio) from the company.

The official statement reads:

“IMPACT Wrestling announced today that it has terminated its agreement with Alberto El Patron, effective immediately.”

This announcement comes just 24 hours after Patron reportedly no-showed last night’s Impact vs. Lucha Underground special that aired live on Twitch.

Patron had been scheduled to face Austin Aries for the Impact World Championship in the main event of the Redemption PPV on April 22. That match is now off.

It was reported earlier this month that Patron was at WWE Headquarters in Stamford to film footage for an upcoming project involving Rey Mysterio. Patron’s deal with Impact was already scheduled to expire in April. He did take part in a press conference on Friday in New Orleans to promote the Redemption PPV, but apparently something changed quick.
