  3. Armando Estrada talks to James Guttman

ARMANDO ESTRADA REVEALS THE CURRENT WWE STAR HE WANTED TO MANAGE, WHY IT DIDN’T HAPPEN, WHAT TNA NEEDS TO DO TO GET HIM ON THEIR ROSTER, AND MORE By WorldWrestlingInsanity.comRoll a Cuban and prepare for a party because you’re about to go Clubbing with the man who guided Umaga and his thumb to the top of WWE. That’s right. Armando Estrada has joined ClubWWI.com for a 48 minute shoot interview that every pro wrestling fan will want to tune in for.

Armando’s WWE departure left many wondering what he would be doing next. Estrada addresses that in his ClubWWI shoot and so much more. Among the topics he discussed with James Guttman include: Disappointment Over The Colin Delaney Angle, His Unused Ideas For The Delaney Feud, Being Phased Out of The Umaga-Lashley WrestleMania Angle, What Went Wrong On His First Night in WWE, Vince McMahon: The Performer, The Controversial Osama Gimmick, Paul Heyman’s Time in OVW, How Divas Killed Managers, Bobby Heenan, J.J. Dillon, Dr. Tom Prichard, WCCW, AWA, His New Business, and More.

James had a number of questions for the former ECW General Manager including what many feel was a natural fit for him – Vladimir Kozlov. Cuba – Russia – Come on! What better combination of manager/wrestler could WWE hope for? Had the idea ever come up? If so, what were Armando’s thoughts on it? He answered the question for ClubWWI.com listeners like this:

“That was an idea that I had, that was an idea that he had, Vladimir. There were a couple of people that approached me and said ‘You know, I think you’d be a good fit with the Russian. You know, Cuba and Russia – yeah, yeah!’ Ultimately, at the end of the day, I don’t believe they felt Vladimir needed anybody.”

Estrada points to Kozlov’s success in WWE today and says that he may not have needed a mouthpiece after all. Guttman and Armando speak in-depth about the importance of managers and how not every managed star needed someone to speak for them. Sometimes it was just a natural fit. (JJ Dillon and the Horsemen serve as examples.)

Before the interview closed out, JG had to ask the magic question. What about TNA? What would it take to send Big Lalo over to the Orlando company?

“Armando Estrada is willing to do business as long as it makes sense, both creatively and financially. Because if you invest in me, I’m your investment. I’m a lot better than Wall Street.”

James says that 99% of things out there today are better than Wall Street and Estrada adds, “I’m that one percent!”
