WWE TLC Throughout the Years – 2010

wwe-tlc-tables-ladders-and-chairs-2010WWE TLC Throughout the Years – 2010

With this years PPV only a matter of days away i’m going down the list and reviewing the past PPV. Each articles will be a different year, also to see what was good and what was bad.

TLC 2010
This PPV once again focused on the young and upcoming superstar in Wade Barrett. This of course was the year of the Nexus who stole the summer in their take over / feud with WWE management. He took on the the face of the WWE in John Cena. Also on the card was a forgettable WWE title match with the Miz taking on Randy Orton. The under card was also forgettable. Hell this hole PPV was forgettable but the fact is its review time!

We kick things off with a triple threat Intercontinental Title match with Dolph Ziggler © Defeating Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger in a Ladder match.
This is no doubt about that this was a spot match but to a PPV built around this kind of gimmick it needed it. You had Ziggler who was the man for the title at the time and they needed someone to plug in against him. One of the better ladder matches that you will see in WWE.

The Divas Tag Team Table match and the Tag Team Title matches were just filler. At the time the Tag Team division was a joke and had no meaning. The Divas match was a different from the norm and while the women gave good effort never stood out. Especially following a match before it.

#1 Contender Ladder Match For WWE Title: John Morrison Def. King Sheamus
Before we get into this Lets remember that The Miz was champion at this time so the title was not was it usually is. The King Sheamus gimmick never got over and to have an Irish guy as a king was just laughable. Morrison has always been a guy that WWE management thought could be something but never matched up to the “Top Guy” role they wanted him to be.

WWE Title Match: The Miz © Defeats Randy Orton
Prior to this The Miz cashed in his MITB briefcase and won the title. This was an okay match but honestly you couldn’t take The Miz seriously at this time. Orton was trying to refined his character. At the time the WWE title  was not the main focus point of the WWE. This was honestly a forgettable match and feud.

Four Way TLC Match For The World Heavyweight Championship: Edge © Def. Kane, Rey Mysterio & Alberto Del Rio
This was a fun match to watch and really it was time for Kane to lose the belt. He had his reign which was OK with a stupid storyline with the Undertaker. Del Rio was really coming into his own at this time and hadn’t proven himself as a title contender in my opinion. His feud with Mysterio i think go him into this match.

John Cena Def. Wade Barrett in a Chairs Match.
This really was the blow off with both guys, of course this was the year of the Nexus storyline and then they made Cena their B*tch. Cena got his revenge in this one and went on his marry way. Wade never rebounded since the Nexus and honestly looks lost. They have repacked him several times but nothing got him as over then when he was the top heel in the summer of this year.

WWE Slammy Awards Concept Getting Stale

slammy1b_gifWWE Slammy Awards Concept Getting Stale

Maybe I’m talking about the masses or the few, every time the Slammy Awards comes around it is a big fun ole event. Now WWE had these for a few years back in the late 90’s but from an award ceremony to a comedy bit after a comedy bit, some have to wonder how things have changed. Now does it bring something different to the show yes. The problem is that it should be something taken seriously. If you look at some of the categories, you have to think why should I care about this? Or why is this even on here?

Why No One Cares About the WWE TLC Main Event

TLCWhy No One Cares About the WWE TLC Main Event

Its finally out there, in WWE own words or more less Triple H weekly sit down interview with Michael Cole he said: “In 11 years, after the brand extension is no longer, at TLC we will have a undisputed champion”, now I summed up what he said but that’s the majority of what he said about this match.

Opening Segment

AR’s Truth: A really good opening segment that gets the main focus on the two top matches on tonight’s show. Magnus and Roode shined in this segment. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out, if you didn’t read the spoilers.

Review of the December 4, 2013 edition of WWE Main Event

Main Event 2Review of the December 4, 2013 edition of WWE Main Event:

Goldust Def. Ryback Via DQ
This was supposed to be the big match that really feel flat. Goldust has done some good matches in the past and really on his game but Ryback’s style didn’t flow well. It looks like with the Wyatt Family and The Shield already in a program that we will get these guys taking on the champions. Most likely at the TLC PPV.

The Usos Def. Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal
A fun tag match but we have seen so many times that it just feels like filler. The Uso’s are mega over and proven they go with anyone in the tag division. 3MB needs to be repackaged in serious way.

Why the Authority Storyline isn’t Working

Stephanie McMahonWarning, The following is a clear cut rant from a wrestling fan since I was born. I have never have gone away from the product and stuck through from the attitude era until now. Now that’s over, let’s get into it.

I am a Triple H fan and proud to say it, I have nothing against the Big Show who I think best work is behind him. WWE wonders why there viewership’s is not where it once was. Let’s look at this, you have John Cena as WWE champion leading into SummerSlam, he is defending against the most over guy in the company in Daniel Bryan. You have Daniel Bryan win the title but is screwed by Randy Orton and Triple H. Orton is new champion. Stop right there, Bryan wins title but is screwed. There is your story, its simple go two PPV first with Orton barely retaining then have Bryan win the Title (Story Complete)

Raw 3Opening Segment: We are live in Oklahoma City, CM Punk Comes to the ring, He says he knows why The Shield attacked him and it’s because he criticized Triple H. Stephanie McMahon comes out and wishes us a happy thanksgiving. She says that there is no way that Triple H had The Shield attack him because its below them She says they were just as upset that The Shield attacked him then she hypes the Contract Signing later tonight. She adds that if he has any other comments then he can ask Kane. He comes out; he says the “Authority” had nothing to do with the attack. Should WWE TLC have its own PPV?

wwe_tlc_2012_wallpaper_by_wwedesign-d5mhkqhWWE has had this little pay per view called TLC a.k.a. Tables, Ladders and Chairs. It is one of the greatest gimmicks in the history of wrestling but does it deserve a PPV named after it?

Back in 1999 at No Mercy PPV the Hardy’s took on Edge and Christian in a ladder match. Then the following WrestleMania and SummerSlam had a triple Ladder match. Then in the spring of 2001 Mick Foley who was the commissioner at the time made that famous line saying “Tables, Ladders and Chairs oh my” Once they had their crazy and spot fest match at WrestleMania 17 the match was sold in the hearts of the WWE Universe. Hardy’s brought the Ladders while the Dudley Boys had tables and The two future world champions Edge and Christian had the chairs.

My ideal booking for the Tables, Ladders & Chairs PPV

TLCNow I don’t know the order nor the matches that are set in stone for this PPV but I want to make a match card and explain how I would book it. These may be wrong and not the brightest.

TLC Match For Both WWE and World Heavyweight Titles: John Cena Vs. Randy Orton
Many people think this is the unification match for both titles but I would say you’re wrong. I see this as what it should be. Cena goes on to win it; He holds both titles until WrestleMania 30. Randy Orton wins the Royal Rumble and challenges Cena to a unification match at WM 30. The winner is the “Undisputed Champion” of the WWE. I would have John Cena go over to make the title prestige once again and they would go on to feud over the title. It gives both men a mission and a storyline for the next couple months.

Alberto Del Rio Vs. The Big Show For the Right For the Big Show to face Triple H at Royal Rumble PPV.
For months now the rumor as been Big Show and Triple H will get a match together down the road. Most of the past couple months have felt like that with Big Show being broke storyline and Triple H costing him the WWE Title at Survivor Series. With Del Rio kicking him in the head and probably a concussion storyline on Raw. This will make sense to have all men have a program. Big Show blames the “Authority” AKA Triple H for not letting him compete for the next two weeks. Then the stipulation is added.

CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Rhode Brothers Vs. Wyatt Family, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a 8 Man Tag Team Table Match
Punk and Bryan was taken out by Both Wyatt Family and The Shield on Raw. The Rhode Brothers already have a feud with The Shield. Have the Rhode Bothers come to their rescue and they team up in a match of the night candidate. Have Reigns spear one of them through a table and continue this feud between Punk and Bryan Vs. the Wyatt’s.

Tornado Style Chair Tag Team Match: Mark Henry and Big E. Langston Vs. Curtis Axel and Ryback
On this past week’s Raw we saw Henry and Langston tag up. They were dominating and for some odd reason WWE keeps the former “Heyman Guys” together. All four men have a history so why not let me go at it. Have Henry and Langston in a dominate style

Ladder Match: The Miz Vs. Kofi Kingston
It’s the opening match or Pre-Show match. Let them go out and burn down the house. Have Kingston go over to further more make Miz mad and push him closer to being a heel.

Divas Title Match: Brie Bella Vs. AJ Lee ©
They been teasing for Brie to finally beat AJ and at this PPV let her go over. New Champion!

Do you agree? Disagree? Or even think these matches happen. Let me know.
