Beth Phoenix has been injured and will be out of commission for atleast a couple of months.
Since Bubba the Love Sponge has now been released from TNA, is it best for the company to re-sign Awesome Kong?
On March 1, 2010, Awesome Kong was released from her TNA contract. The reason was because Bubba and Kong got involved in a backstage altercation after some racist comments were made by Bubba. Awesome Kong was simply raising money for the brutal earthquake that took place in Haiti. Bubba comes along, and makes some very rude comments towards this fact. Afterwards, the two got involved in a fist fight since Awesome Kong took the entire incident quite seriously.
Edge has once again turned heel, was it a good or bad move?
When Edge injured this past year, he made a brief video about it while he was on Smackdown. Many fans realized that he’d be turning face when he returns. And without surprise, he returned as a face at the Royal Rumble. While he wasn’t exactly a true “fan favourite,” he still received fairly positive crowd reaction. But still, his face character just didn’t have that “it” factor that would make him standout from the rest of the faces on the roster. There was nothing special about it, just a typical, good-guy face. Soon enough, it became evident to WWE, that Edge was much better off as a heel.
For some reason, WWE isn’t pulling the trigger on one of the most anticipated matches in the entire business right now, Christian vs Edge.
This past week on Smackdown, WWE teased the feud by putting Christian and Edge into the same ring, and as expected, the two to of them put on the most smoothly running mic works seen in recent memory. It’s a well known fact that Vince McMahon doesn’t believe that Christian can be a future main event wrestler in his company, that’s pretty much the only thing that is standing in the way of this feud.
Jim Ross’ contract is set to expire with WWE on April 30, 2010. It’ll be interesting to see which company he shows up on this Monday; WWE or TNA.
On October 20, 2009, JR suffered a bell’s palsy attack and has been away from the Smackdown commentating booth ever since.
Jim Ross has stated that WWE and him haven’t been able to come to a final deal with his contract yet. One thing is official though, if WWE does manage to re-sign Ross, then he will no longer be a commentator. Instead, he’ll be working backstage at WWE events. But deep down inside, a part of JR probably knows that commentating is what he does best. While a backstage role in WWE isn’t so bad, it doesn’t come any where near the publicity of commentating. Especially for someone who’s on the level of JR. He’s often been called the voice of WWE. Not only that, he’s also sometimes regarded as the best commentator in the entire business.
When MVP first arrived in WWE, it began to seem as if he was on his way to the main event scene. When he got placed in a highly entertaining feud with Matt Hardy, things only got better. However, Matt Hardy got injured in real life during the storyline, and MVP was put on hold. Even after Matt Hardy arrived back to Smackdown after recovering from the injury, the storyline between the two could never reach the height that it once had in the past.
