Best of TNA 2007 is the latest release from TNA Home Video. It will be released in the US and Canada on Tuesday, April 22, and will be on sale at WalMart stores, ShopTNA.com and major DVD retailers such as Best Buy and FYE. In the United Kingdom, TNA DVDs are sold at HMV, Virgin, MVC, Our Price, Woolworths, WH Smith and V Shop. Run time is over 3 hours.

The matches voted best 7 of 2007 are included in full, along with all of the 2007 Year End Awards for 2007 and other video extras.

Top Matches of 2007

7. Destination X: Elevation X
Rhino vs. AJ Styles

This is the scariest match in wrestling today. The winner is the one who manages to stay on top of the X Shaped scaffolding above the ring, while the loser is the one who falls off and lands in the ring below. The main drawback of this match is that it’s too dangerous for much action to take place on the scaffold itself, but AJ’s fall from the scaffold in the end is the most shocking high spot of 2007.

6. Slammiversary: King of the Mountain
Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles vs. Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe vs. Chris Harris

This action packed match tied together two of the biggest feuds of the year, and it played an important part in the development of the main event story lines in 2007.

5. Hard Justice: All or Nothing
Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe for all of the TNA Championships

At the time of this match, Samoa Joe was the sole holder of the TNA X Division and Tag Team Championships. Kurt Angle held the IWGP and TNA Heavyweight Championships. The winner would hold all 4 titles. This was a highly rated contest between Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe, and gives fans a taste of why this feud has been so popular with fans.

4. Sacrifice: Texas Death Match
“Cowboy” James Storm vs. “Wildcat” Chris Harris

After the breakup of America’s Most Wanted, the most decorated tag team in TNA history, Storm and Harris went on to have a bloody and violent feud that culminated in this brutal no holds barred match. Fans of hardcore wrestling will especially appreciate this match, but the psychology and skill will appeal to all wrestling fans.

3. Genesis: Ladder Match
Christian Cage vs. Frankie “Kaz” Kazarian

The winner of this terrific match became the #1 contender for the TNA Heavyweight Championship. Kaz beat Christian at his signature match and was catapulted into the TNA main event picture. The creative and breathtaking high spots in this match will excite any wrestling fan.

2. Bound for Glory: Ultimate X Match
The Latin American Xchange vs. Triple XXX

Ultimate X is without question the signature match of TNA’s X Division and arguably the most successful new gimmick match for TNA or any wrestling promotion. This would have been far and away my choice for #1, and I can’t think of any reason why it wasn’t, even though Christopher Daniels wasn’t in it. Senshi, Elix Skipper, Homicide and Hernandez went all out to thrill the crowd with the daring high spots that make the X Division the most exciting part of TNA. This is a great introduction for fans who’d like to see what’s so special about TNA, and what makes it different from WWE.

1. Bound for Glory: TNA World Championship
Sting vs. Kurt Angle

The fans in Atlanta, GA, went wild seeing Sting make his return to what he called his “old stomping grounds.” This was indeed a memorable and well wrestled match, and should be a favorite of fans of old school wrestling.

2007 Year End Awards

Finally, we get to see Barry Scott, the man behind the voice on all those TNA videos! (Fans of Scott’s voice may want to check out his online Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King.) I enjoyed watching each each nominee and other wrestlers talk about the nominations.

TNA: Best of 2007 would be a fine addition to the library of any wrestling fan, and a good way for a new fan to discover TNA. Remember April is Autism Awareness month and TNA Wrestling will be donating a portion of all ShopTNA proceeds this month to benefit Autism research. TNA Wrestling will be presenting a check from the proceeds collected in April to The Hermie and Elliott Sadler Foundation that will benefit various Autism initiatives.
