MIKE POSEY & COREY HOLLIS as ALABAMA ATTITUDE returned to ROH at the TV Tapings in Baltimore on Jan 5, 2013 losing to Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish.  The match iwas in the most recent ROH TV Episode and in online now for ROH RINGSIDE Members at http://www.rohwrestling.com/tv/watch-now .  Posey is also seen being tossed from the ring at the end of the new TV open.  Posey & Hollis return to ROH for the TV Taping in Chicago on 3-3 and the house show in Ashville, NC on 3-30.

MATCH REVIEW: http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2013/0121/559678/roh-recap/

Alabama Attitude (Corey Hollis and Mike Posey) vs. Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly

Hollis and O’Reilly start things off. They tie up in the center of the ring and go back and forth before both wrestlers tag their partners in.

O’Reilly hits Posey with a knee before going out, and Fish comes in with a drop kick. He keeps the attack up, eventually nailing Posey with a back breaker. O’Reilly lands an elbow drop.

Fish and O’Reilly keep up the offense and go for a double team, but Posey escapes and tags in Hollis, who comes in hot with several strikes. After a Suplex, Posey comes back in and AA does a modified DDT thing where they force Fish to DDT O’Reilly.

Fish and O’Reilly come back and after several German Suplexes, they hit Posey with a kick/Brainbuster combo for the win.

2nd review:  http://rohworld.com/roh-sbg-11913-report/

Alabama Attitude (Mike Posey & Corey Hollis) vs. Team Am-Fishin’ (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly)

Hollis and O’Reilly start the match off for their teams. Seltzer just called O’Reilly and Fish Team Am-Fishin’! That’s awesome! O’Reilly and Hollis trade quick counters before their tag partners tag in. O’Reilly knees Posey in the back allowing Fish to hit a dropkick ad give his team control. Fish connects with a backbreaker and O’Reilly turns it into a combination with an elbow drop from the turnbuckles. Posey escapes a double team attempt and tags in Hollis who comes in and cleans house. Hollis hits a combination sliced bread and DDT, and Posey follows it up with a leg drop on Fish for two. One the outside, O’Reilly hits a German suplex on Hollis. Team Am-Fishin’ hits a combination kick to the head and brainbuster for Fish to get the pinfall on Posey.

Winners by Pinfall: Team Am-Fishin

ROHWorld.com’s Thoughts: First of all, the show looks incredible. It looks like Ring of Honor really stepped up their production game and it pays dividends. This is the kind of production Ring of Honor needs to have week in and week out if they want people to take them seriously. As for the match itself, it accomplished everything it needed to. It was a fun match that made Fish and O’Reilly look really good. Alabama Attitude also looked pretty decent, and I wouldn’t mind seeing them a little more often at all. This was a good start to 2013.

3rd Review http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish/ROHTVReports/article10029366.shtml

1. Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly vs. Alabama Attitude (Mike Posey and Corey Hollis). The teams shook hands before the match. Fish and O’Reilly performed a good backbreaker followed by a knee drop off the ropes combo on Posey that drew gasps from the crowd. Hollis tagged in and had a nice flurry. Posey tagged in and caught Fish with a top rope legdrop for a two count. O’Reilly performed a German suplex on Hollis at ringside. Fish and O’Reilly worked over Posey in the ring and finished him off with a kick and brainbuster combo.

Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly defeated Alabama Attitude in 6:00.

Powell’s POV: If Posey’s name rings a bell, it’s probably because he’s a former TNA referee. He’s also worked as an independent wrestler for several years. He has a solid look and did a good job of taking the bulk of the Fish and O’Reilly offense. Meanwhile, O’Reilly appears to be more tone than he has been in the past. He could still use a tan. He’s a talented guy and I like him and Fish as a team, but the white skin makes him look a little too indy.

Posey appeared for ANARCHY WRESTLING in CORNELIA, GA on December 22 defeating Drew Adler and challenging Franklin Dove.  Seth Delay accepted the challenge and faced & defeated Posey on Dec 29.  He returns to Anarchy on 3-9 & 3-23.  On 3-9 he will team with Corey Hollis.

Deep Southern Championship Wrestling was created in March of? of 2010 and started running shows once a month in Ellijay, Ga. We started out in a place known as Gilmer Golf and games. Our first show drew a crowd of 35 or 40 people. DSCW didn’t get discouraged though we kept giving good quality matches at a fair price and got our crowds up to 150 or more. We had to move to gyms and civic centers to support our fan base, drawing close to 600 on some of our big shows.

APW TAG CHAMPS: DA FIREMAN & SETH DELAY

NORTH GEORGIA CHAMP: WADE ADAMS

SOUTHERN STATES CHAMP: JACOBY BOYKINS

MARCH 1 report from Dee Byers

The show opened with Jeremy Vain recapping his loss last week to Southern States champion Jacoby Boykins. Boykins came out to state his side of things, which further lead to James Boulevard coming out and announcing that APW Commissioner Jacob Ashworth had left him in charge this week and that he was making a #1 Contender match between himself and Jeremy Vain.

“The Lethal Dose” Stryknyn pinned Jaxon Carter after hitting the spear.

“Psycho” Scott Mason defeated The Red Ninja with a pile driver.

“The Sin City Saint” Brandon Parker hit a face buster on Ballenger for the pin..

Jeremy Vain became #1 Contender to the APW Southern States Title with a win over James Boulevard.

Jeremy Cruz and Chris Spectra lost to the APW Tag Team Champs “King” Seth Delay and Da Fireman. Late in the match, frustration finally led to Cruz resorting to illegal tactics which brought in Spectra to try and reason with his partner, causing the match to break down to all four men in the ring and a roll up by Delay for the win. This match marked the breaking point for the former multi-time champs as the 2 Dudes have been plagued by miscommunication and seemingly minor disagreements for weeks now. Post match, Cruz shoved Spectra to the mat and walked out of the ring, apparently dissolving the popular longtime tandem.

Southern States champion Jacoby Boykins defeated North Georgia champ Wade Adams. Jacoby brutalized Adams throughout the match, leading Jeremy Vain to run in post match to attack Boykins. James Boulevard and Brandon Parker soon followed, leading an impromptu tag match.

Jeremy Vain and Brandon Parker beat James Boulevard and Southern States champ Jacoby Boykins after Vain hit an elbow drop on the champion.

MARCH 1 RESULTS:

At the start of the show, Jeremy Vain came out to the ring to say how he was disappointed that he didn’t bring home the APW Southern States Heavyweight Championship. But that he was glad to get back into the ring after a 6-month absence. And the reason why he was gone is because he was taking care of a man in his last days that had taken care of him for 31 years, his father. And that the match the previous week was dedicated to his memory. And even though his dad went on to be with the Lord in heaven, he was planning on making his dad proud by spending every night to once again become the Southern States Heavyweight Champion. Enter the Southern States Heavyweight Champion Jacoby Boykins, he came to the ring and said that even though Vain might have given him a good fight at the Anniversary show, that he still took it and won, and that he plans on being the champ for a long time. That it was his time, and Vains’ time was past. Vain interrupts back and challenges him to a match for the title that night. The crowd goes wild, and then the familiar music of James Blvd hits, he comes to the ring and says the APW Commissioner Jacob Ashworth wasn’t there that evening, he left Blvd in charge, since Blvd has prior experience being a commissioner. And for the evening, he made the following match, he said to Vain, “Why don’t you a me have a match? And the winner will be the #1 Contender, to Jacobys’ title.” Vain accepted. Jacoby just gave an evil stare.

On the screen, the former APW Tag Team Champions, Jaxon Carter and Scott Mason were in the back. Mason told Carter, that even though they lost the titles the previous week, that they both had singles matches to try and make a statement. Carter looked like he didn’t care much as he was doing bycep curls with a dumbbell. But when Mason told him that his opponent was “The Lethal Dose” Stryknyn, he got so nervous, he dropped the weight on his foot!

“The Lethal Dose” Stryknyn def. Jaxon Carter by pinfall in 7:56

Scott Mason def. The Red Ninja by pinfall in 4:33

Next on the screen, an interview that I had conducted earlier in the evening with the new APW Tag Team Champions, the team of Da Fireman, and “King” Seth Delay played. The said that they were very pleased with being the tag champs, but no sooner did they begin to talk, than the team of Just 2 Dudes(Spectra and Cruz) interrupted. The began to talk about how they were tired of being Just 2 Dudes, that they were ready to once again be the tag champs. Seth chummed in and said the reason why they were “Just 2 Dudes” is because the Tag Titles were “Just 2 Belts” to them. That they didn’t take the tag division seriously. Of course being enraged by the accusations, they challenged the champs to a title match. Being the fighting champions they are, they accepted.

“The Sin City Saint” Brandon Parker def. Ballenger by pinfall in 7:34

Break

“The Untouchable” Jeremy Vain def. James Blvd by pinfall in 9:00 to become the #1 Contender for the APW Southern States Heavyweight Championship.

APW Tag Team Championship

“King” Seth Delay and Da Fireman(c) def. Just 2 Dudes by pinfall in 10:34

-Post match, this one took an odd turn, towards the end, Cruz began to choke Delay with the ropes, potentially losing his cool, and causing Spectra to step in to snap him out of it. Further miscommunication cost them the match. After the match, Spectra tried to talk since into Cruz, Cruz wasn’t having it. To the crowds surprise, he delivered a blatant kick to the groin of Spectra? Then began to pummel him, finally knocking him out of the ring. He marched off to the ramp screaming things like, “I’m the only dude!” and “I made this team!” I guess the dudes are no more?

On the screen, another interview I conducted. This time it was with the APW North Ga Champion Wade Adams. Who on this night, had arguably the biggest opportunity of his career, a shot at Jacoby Boykins and his APW Southern States Heavyweight Championship. He said how he knew it was a huge opportunity, be he felt it was one that he had earned, and at the end of the night, he was going to do everything in his power, to be the new, APW Southern States Heavyweight Champion.

APW Southern States Heavyweight Championship

“The Alabama Ambassador” Jacoby Boykins(c) def. Wade Adams by pinfall in 7:45

-This match pretty much just showed Boykins’ dominance. Easily defeating Adams, he began to try and make an example of him, pummeling him, he was fought off win Vain rushed to the ring. The Blvd came out, it was a 2 on 1 situation. Then Parker came to the aid of Vain, fighting both Boykins and Blvd off. Parker got the stick, and said he was still ready for a fight, asked Vain if he was, he said of course, and challenged the two to a tag match. They accepted.

Jeremy Vain and Brandon Parker def. Jacoby Boykins and James Blvd by pinfall in 12:27

This week at APW promises to be another awesome night of action. And after last week, there are some questions that need to be answered.

-What is next for Jamie Cruz and Chris Spectra(Just 2 Dudes) after Cruz turned his back on his partner?

-In his absence last week, what does the APW Commissioner Jacob Ashworth have in store this week?

-What’s next for “The Lethal Dose” Stryknyn? What is his agenda after bouncing back from his loss two weeks ago to Jacob Ashworth

-“The Untouchable” Jeremy Vain is once again the #1 Contender to the APW Southern States Heavyweight Champions. What is next for him and “The Alabama Ambassador” Jacoby Boykins? As they prepare for yet another hard-hitting collision course.

All these questions to be answered and more. Not to mention, some of the best wrestling action in North Georgia. Don’t miss a minute of it! 305 Cherry Street, Royston,Ga. Belltime 8:15pm. All seats $5! Come and experience for yourself! You’ll be glad you did!!!

From Larry Goodman:

Here’s the complete list of the winners of Georgia Wrestling History’s annual awards for 2012 as voted by the Georgia wrestling community and the staff of GWH News.

Second year in a row for Matthews. Runner up: A tie between Shane Marx and Shaun Tempers. Both received just one vote less than Matthews.

Best Performer – Cru Jones

Jones made it two straight by a wide margin. His Hot Like Lava partner Shaun Banks was runner up.

Best Technical Wrestler– Kyle Matthews

Matthews won this category hands down, making it four years in a row.

Corey Hollis, Fred Yehi and Anthony Henry received a few votes apiece.

Ted Allen Legends Award — None

No winner this year because no nominees received the required 50% of the votes.

Those receiving votes included Brodie Chase, Rick Michaels, Jimmy Rave, Iceberg, Terry Lawler, Bill Behrens and Big Wood.

Best Live Event -Sacred Ground III

Platinum Championship Wrestling premier annual event won by a landslide. No other event got more than two votes.

Most Improved – Fred Yehi and Drew Adler (tie)
