Career Highlights

  • 1969: Jerry Brisco broke into the business under the guidance of older brother, Jack Brisco.
  • The Brisco Brother’s dominated the tag team scene for over a decade, in the Florida, Georgia, and Mid-Atlantic territories.
  • The Brisco Brother’s (Jack and Jerry Briscoe) won twenty tag team championships together!
  • The Brisco Brother’s feud with Dory and Terry Funk is one of wrestling’s most heated, bitter, and longest-running feuds of all time!
  • The Briscos acquired minority interests in Georgia Championship Wrestling, and in 1984 they convinced a majority of the shareholders (52%) to sell their shares to Vince McMahon, enabling him to increase his dominance of the professional wrestling world. Gerald retired soon after and began working backstage as a road agent and booker for McMahons’s World Wrestling Federation
  • ~~~Jack Brisco retired from wrestling and Jerry Brisco took an office position with the World Wrestling Federation.
  • ~~~Jack Brisco stayed out of the wrestling business to concentrate on The Brisco Brothers Bodyshop business out of Tampa, Florida.
  • Following the 1997 Montreal Screwjob, Brisco capitalized on his notoriety by becoming an onscreen “stooge” of Vince McMahon along with Pat Patterson. The duo portrayed a pair of bumbling comic heels and joined The Corporation and the McMahon-Helmsley Faction.
  • ~~~They lampooned Hulk Hogan (then working for World Championship Wrestling, the rival of WWF) by mimicking his trademark gestures and using “Real American,” his old entrance theme.
  • Late 1990s: Jerry Brisco recieved a lot of TV exposure with Pat Patterson as Vince McMahon’s Corporate Stooges.
  • ~~~The “Stooges” often used the familiar “Real American” entrance music used by Hulk Hogan throughout the 1980s.
  • March 15, 1999 – RAW: Shane McMahon w/Vince McMahon beat The Legion of Doom (Patterson and Brisco) in a Handicap match.
  • March 22, 1999 – RAW: The REAL Legion of Doom showed up and attacked Patterson and Brisco backstage for mocking them.
  • June 11, 2007 – RAW: The Mr. McMahon “character” was tragically killed when his private limousine exploded into a ball of flames.
  • ~~~Jerry Brisco and Pat Patterson were the last two people to make eye contact with Mr. McMahon before he went to his “death”.
  • December 10, 2007 – RAW 15th Anniversary: Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco made a appearances on the show.
  • March 10, 2008 – RAW: They announced Jack and Jerry Brisco to be inducted into the Class of 2008 WWE Hall of Fame.
  • March 29, 2008 – WWE Hall of Fame: JBL inducted the Brisco Brothers into the WWE Hall of Fame in Orlando, Florida.
  • March 30, 2008 – WrestleMania 24: Howard Finkel introduced the WWE Hall of Fame Inductees Class of 2008 to the audience.
  • June 15, 2009: Jerry Brisco (62) suffered a stroke and was hospitalized in order to undergo surgery.
  • Mike Aldren wrote (On November 24, 2009): Gerald Brisco won’t be returning to WWE in his previous role as road agent after suffering a series of mini strokes earlier this year. His doctor advised him not to go back on the road full-time so he may be doing something with developmental in Tampa. He is said to be recovering nicely but no timetable has been set for him to return to work. He is also accepting convention dates next year outside of WWE.
  • In March 2010, Jerry Brisco did return to the WWE as a talent scout and recruiter for NXT.
