In The Beginning

Stampede Wrestling

  • Jim Neidhart got the name “Anvil” when he won an Anvil Tossing contest at the Calgary Stampede festival. Stu Hart paid him $500.

World Wrestling Federation – Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart

  • Jim Neidhart signed with the WWF as part of the deal with Vince McMahon buying Stampede Wrestling.
  • Jim Neidhart was initially brought in as a singles wrestler, managed by Mr. Fuji.

  • Jim Neidhart formed one of the greatest tag teams of all time with Bret Hart known as the Hart Foundation managed by Jimmy Hart.

  • June 16, 1994 – King of the Ring: Diesel (IC Champ) beat Bret Hart by DQ, when a returning Jim Neidhart interfered on Bret’s behalf.
  • ~~~Later in the night, Jim Neidhart appeared again to aid Owen Hart in winning the King of the Ring tournament!
