Career Highlights

In The Beginning:

  • April 14, 1975: Amy Christine Dumas was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
  • While in high school, Amy took up swimming and practiced judo competitively.
  • Amy played bass gutiar in a band called 3 Card Trick.
  • Amy graduated early from high school. By the time her high school graduation came, she was already in college.
  • Amy was a roadie for a band for 5 years before she got into wrestling.
  • Tattoos: A Cyrillic (Russian) word on her lower neck. It means Recusant (Non-Conformist) in English.
  • ~~~It’s also a 16th century word for a person who refused to attend Catholic church services.
  • ~~~Amy also has a huge demon tattoo on her right shoulder.
  • Amy is trained in Judo and Kickboxing.
  • Amy’s friends watched wrestling and Amy almost at once dismissed the sport as being “stupid”.

Getting into the Business:

  • Wrestling had sparked her attention after watching such talented performers as Rey Mysterio Jr.
  • 1998: Amy went to Mexico with only a high-school level Spanish language skill.
  • Amy worked for MCW, EMLL and NWA, amung others during her stay in Mexico.
  • Amy was working with NWA Mid-Atlantic when she met the Hardy Boyz.
  • June 27, 1999 – MCW: Angelica and Christian York defeated Platinum Nat and Rich Myers.

Extreme championship Wrestling:

  • 1999: Amy was approached by Paul Heyman and she was offered a deal with ECW.
  • Amy was given the names “Angelica” and “Miss Congeniality” and became the valet for Danny Doring.
  • July 18, 1999: Amy, then known as Angelica, got her first pay-per-view exposure at ECW’s Heat Wave.
  • ECW star Rob Van Dam introduced Amy to Dory Funk and his wife – Dory invited Amy to his training camp.
  • ~~~At the camp, Amy trained with 23 guys. Dory Funk treated her no different than the other guys, at Amy’s request.
  • ~~~Amy quickly gained respect from the other guys at the camp and graduated from The Funking Conservatory in August 1999.
  • While Amy went back to ECW, Dory Funk and his wife began compiling old videos they had taken of Amy and sent it to WWF.
  • September 10, 1999 – ECW Hardcore TV: Angelica, Danny Doring and Roadkill defeated Chris Chetti, Jazz and Nova.
  • September 5, 23, 1999 – ECW: Angelica, Danny Doring and Roadkill defeated Chris Chetti, Jazz and Nova.
  • October 16, 1999 – ECW: Jazz defeated Angelica.

World Wrestling Federation:

  • The WWF offered her a contract without even watching her in a try out match.
  • Amy (using the name Lita) worked her first dark match as Papi Chulo’s valet, landing a moonsault after Essa did one on his opponent.
  • Lita began inadvertantly costing Essa Rios his matches, so Essa left her.
  • February 13, 2000 – HEAT: Essa Rios w Lita defeated Gillberg to win the WWE light heavyweight title.
  • February 14, 2000 – RAW: Light heavyweight champion Essa Rios w Lita defeated Crash Holly to retain the title.
  • February 20, 2000 – HEAT: Light heavyweight champion Essa Rios w Lita defeated Funaki in a non-title match.
  • February 26, 2000 – Jakked: Light heavyweight champion Essa Rios w Lita defeated Joey Abs in a non-title match.

  • December 2, 2000 – Rebellion: WWE women’s champion Ivory defeated Lita to retain the title.
  • December 4, 2000 – RAW: Light heavyweight champion Dean Malenko defeated Lita to retain the title.
  • ~~~Malenko challenged Lita to a Light-Heavyweight title match.
  • ~~~If Dean won, Lita would have to go out on a date with him.
  • ~~~Malenko put the clover leaf on Lita, getting the win and snagging himself a date with Lita.
  • ~~~They went out to dinner and Dean took Lita to a hotel afterwards.

Lita‘s Injury:

  • April 2002: Lita suffered a small stinger while on the set of Dark Angel, where she is making a guest appearance.
  • ~~~Lita learned after a CAT Scan to have three cracked vertebrae in her neck.
  • ~~~She may require neck surgery which could keep her out of action for a lengthy period of time.
  • April 30, 2002: Lita undergoes neck surgery under the eye of Dr. Lloyd Youngblood, similar to that of Austin, Rhyno and Benoit.
  • August 22, 2002 – SmackDown: Lita makes an appearance, joining Mark Loyd on commentary for Velocity tapings.
  • October 2002: Lita debuts on MTV’s HEAT as the permanent commentator with Jonathan Coachman.
  • April 21, 2003 – RAW: Lita announces that she is close to returning to the ring and gets harassed and fired by Eric Bischoff.

  • April 21, 2007 – United Wrestling Federation: Christy Hemme defeated April Hunter with guest referee Amy “Lita” Dumas.
  • April 22, 2007 – United Wrestling Federation: Jerry Lynn and Amy Dumas defeated Austin Starr and Christy Hemme.
  • December 10, 2007 – RAW 15th Anniversary: Jillian Hall had her singing routine interrupted by Trish Stratus and Lita!
  • ~~~Jillian tried to play Trish and Lita against each other but the two former Divas banded together to kick Jillian‘s butt!
  • November 1, 2010 – RAW: Lita made a brief cameo with RAW guest host Pee Wee Herman (which sparked rumors of her return).

  • February 10, 2014 – RAW: WWE has announced that Lita will be in the Hall of Fame.
  • April 2014 – Lita was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
  • May 7, 2015: WWE has announced that Lita would be a trainer on the next season of Tough Enough.
  • July 13, 2015 – RAW: Lita appeared to introduced the Tough Enough contestants.
  • October 2015: Lita has become a full time member of the WWE creative’s team.
  • December 4, 2015 – LLF: Karisma defeated Angelica to win the LLF title.
  • April 3, 2016: Lita has introduced the new WWE women’s title.
