In The Beginning:

Drew Hankinson attended Fairmont State and played on their football team before turning to professional wrestling..
Drew Hankinson started out with Mason Dixion Wrestling out of West Virginia wrestling as one half of “The Masked Assassins”..
April 2005: Drew Hankinson signed a WWE developmental deal and will be assigned to Deep South Wrestling whenever it starts..The ORIGINAL Deacon DeVille is a character that I created in 1986 for a series of stage shows by that name as performed by The BoatRocker Drama Company. This was WAY BEFORE Luke/Hank ever borrowed it for his use. I’ve used the name for other show related purposes as well… including a notorious masked wrestling manager, player, antagonist by the same name. Just to be absolutely clear, Luke Gallows/Hank Hankinson was NOT the first to use that name. FYI- Mike M. Partain, Luke’s Cabbage Store Band & Productions.
