- The new World order gimmick is credited for catapulting World Championship Wrestling to ratings dominence..
- It all started when Scott Hall crashed Nitro and jumped into the ring and declared that he was invading WCW..
- The following week, Kevin Nash joined him on Nitro and intimidated WCW announcer Eric Bischoff..
- Great American Bash 1996: Kevin Nash powerbombs Eric Bischoff off the stage!!
- Bash at the Beach 1996: Hulk Hogan turned on WCW and joined Kevin Nash & Scott Hall and the new World order was born!
- Hog Wild 1996: Hulk Hogan defeated the Giant for the WCW title & The Outsiders defeated Lex Luger & Sting for the Tag titles..
- In the following weeks, they added Ted DiBiase (Benefactor), Vincient (bodyguard), & the Giant to the group..
- The nWo also managed to create their own version of STING, which caused everybody to think the real sting has turned nWo..
- Fall Brawl 1996: The new World order defeated Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Lex Luger & Sting in a War Games match..
- Over the months they added Randy Savage, Scott Norton, Syxx, Bubba Rogers, Buff Bagwell, Brian Adams, Scott Steiner and others..
- Eric Bischoff ended up joining the new World order himself, after bringing in Roddy Piper and screwing him over in the process..
- World War III 1996: The Giant defeated Jeff Jarrett.. and then went on to win the sixty man three ring battle royal..
- ~~~The Giant became #1 Contender by winning however declined a title shot since nWo leader Hulk Hogan was Champion
- December 30, 1996: The Giant attacked Hollywood Hulk Hogan and demanded his shot at the WCW World Heavyweight title..
- ~~~Hulk Hogan gave in, but it was a trick as the Giant was attacked and then officially kicked out of the new World order..
- During this time, there was a strong working relationship between WCW & New Japan, which had their own version of nWo Japan..
- February 22, 1998 – WCW Superbrawl: Scott Steiner turned on his brother Rick Steiner and joined the new World order..
- The new World order went dry, and they decided to split into TWO separate groups; nWo Wolfpac & nWo Hollywood, and feuded..
- The 2 nWo factions eventually reformed with new dominence, nWo Reunion — They also had a b-team known as nWo Black&White..
- The nWo angle was completely buried, until Vince Russo took power and decided to give it one more try, creating nWo 2000..
- Unfortunatly, the WCW writing staff didn’t know when to stop, and the angle that made WCW successful, ended up killing it..
