KILLSTEENKILL / How ANX Won My Heart.

Superman don’t bleed.

After an exchange of punches, Jay Briscoe plummeted to the canvas in a heap of bloodied flesh leaving Kenny King to claim what was certainly and rightfully his – a guaranteed World Tag Tea Championship match for him and his partner, Rhett Titus, collectively known as the All Night Express. It was a surreal sight to see as Titus smiling triumphantly while he donned the “crimson mask”. Before the partners’ gave each other a congratulatory embrace, King made sure to carve this night to memory by “signing” the contract’s envelope in Jay Briscoe’s blood. At long last, ANX would get their title shot. King’s climb of the ladder not only won ANX the match, but served as a turning point in their career and forever changed their image as we know it. Kenny King and Rhett Titus have reached the main event. They are ready to become champions.

From The Top Rope 1: Anti CM Punk

I never want to hear CM Punk talk again. It will always begin with “I don’t believe [insert what just happened].” Also, if he drops the mic and says, “Pipe bomb”, I will figuratively die so hard that everyone will figuratively attend my funeral. How much could it possibly bother Triple H that his wife is Executive Vice President, Creative Development & Operations? This is overwrought. I know Punk does well on the microphone; it is proven, so why be a broken record? The new stipulation added to Night of Champions HAS TO BE the final nail in the coffin of this angle. If Punk wins, Triple H is fired, or rather, steps down as COO. Does this mean if he lost, he would still be under contract and would become a wrestler again full time? We have seen Triple H do it all over and over again. This would be awful. If Punk loses, will he be fired? Will we get more ridiculous stipulation matches? Man, this gives me a headache. Let’s get to the match at hand. It’s a NO DQ. This means Triple H will bleed a lot. Wait. Can’t they not bleed anymore? How imposing and scary could a NO DQ match be these days? The fact is Punk has been running on fumes, Nash is “released”, and Triple H is way past his prime. The wrestlers are willing to do the work, so WWE give them something to work with.

Sunset Flip Presents: Anti What?

Dear World Wrestling Entertainment

When WWE is spoken among wrestling fans, you’ll get two responses. You’ll get that wrestling fan who has been with the company through the good, bad, and the unrecognizable ugly, but still fans of the company.  Then, you have those fans who gave up on WWE and wrestling in general. I’m really on the fence when it comes to my loyalty of your company. In the past, I’ve spoken about equality among the minorities in the company and wanting a fair opportunity for all talents. Thankfully, I must say with that issue, I’ve seen an impressive improvement. However, I have another issue with your company. I assure you, that my issue is reasonable and will not cross any boundaries.

Sunset Flip Presents: The Order of Wrestling

Sunset Flip Presents: The Order of Wrestling
By Jerrod Sullivan

When wrestling fans examine the landscape of wrestling, you’ll quickly understand WWE is the top wrestling company. You can look at other promotions, but the global reach of WWE is overwhelming and sometimes exhausting. Knowing WWE is the top promotion, you’ll become familiar with their superstars and how they develop through the years. Also, with superstar development, there are various storylines that help to evaluate a specific superstar or superstars. With that said, you will think they are be able to create new superstars, and stories that help make a wrestler get over or not. Granted, the wrestling fans have their say, but it’s also depends on how someone or something is presented to the audience. As one of those fans, I can say, the presentation of some stories and wrestlers have been not well received. On the other hand, the presentation a story and wrestler could be, but the ending could be underwhelming. Exactly, what stories and wrestlers are we talking about.

Sunset Flip Presents Did They Peak?

Sunset Flip Presents Did They Peak?
By Jerrod Sullivan

Has the C.M. Punk and John Cena feud reach their peak? After the promo heard around the world, the match dubbed a classic, and a semi-conclusion in Chicago, can this feud truly continue? I personally believed it had the potential, but that was quickly dismissed after the August 1, 2011 edition of Monday Night Raw. Before I question Raw, let us rewind to mid June.

Sunset Flip presents: Dear TNA Wrestling

Dear TNA Wrestling

Back in 2004, I witnessed one of your Wednesday night pay-per-view promo after a pay-per-view. While watching the promo, I saw several familiar faces from Sting, Jeff Jarrett, and numerous others. Curious about the event, I pleaded with my parents, so I may order the next pay-per-view. April 28, 2004, I saw a decent show with some interesting established characters, and a strong direction for the talent. Once upon time ago, I didn’t have a capable understand of wrestling terminology, but I knew what I liked. After that pay-per-view, I ordered every TNA Wednesday pay-per-view. It was costly ordering those events, but $10 a pay-per-view wasn’t a erroneous deal. In the next few months, the direction of the company changed from the world title, to the X-division title. The X-division was young, gifted, and had highlight worthy talent.

Sunset Flip presents: An Editorial

I’ve been watching wrestling since 1996, since that time I’ve seen some amazing things happen. Beginning with Booker T and Eddie Guerrero winning world titles and deserving superstars rise to the top. When I speak about the amazing happenings of the sport, then I also have to speak about the terrible ones.
The terrible being the number of wrestlers who have passed away and the circumstances surround their deaths. When I was younger, I wanted to be one of those wrestlers. I wanted to be a technical wizard like Chris Benoit, a “Perfect” wrestler like Curt Henning and a wrestler who “Lies, cheat and steal” like Eddie Guerrero. On the other hand, I question my dream of becoming a wrestler because of the aftermath of everything. The everything being the negative aspects of the sport. The negative forms of the sport ranges from the drugs, backstabbing, sacrificing, and the physical effects on your body. I’m not saying wrestling is the only sport where this is happening. It happens in basketball, soccer, and especially football. The difference between those sports and wrestling is the amount of passing involving wrestlers.

If John Cena is the hero then who is the villain?

Sunset Flip presents……

Batman & The Joker, Harry Potter & Voldemort, Superman & Lex Luther. What do these individuals have in common? Batman, Harry, and Superman are heroes and the Joker, Voldemort, and Lex are villains. However, there is something else about these six personalities and that’s there all intertwined with one other. Batman wouldn’t be a great hero without the Joker and the same with Harry and Superman arch villains. I bring up this discussion because of wrestling’s own “Superman,” John Cena.

African-American Wrestlers in the WWE

Will there ever be a top African-American wrestler in WWE? You may ask, why just WWE. Reason being, I’ve been watching WWE/WWF programming since I was young. My sweat, tears, and passion is more with WWE/WWF wrestlers, programming, etc. However, with everything I mentioned, there is also sorrow. The sorrow and sadness comes from the terrible and sometimes disrespectful representation of African-American wrestlers over the years. With that being said, I won’t say there hasn’t been some strong African-American personalities. I began watching WWF programming when I was six and that when I was introduced to one of those strong personalities, “The Nation Of Domination”.
