WSU returned this past Saturday to present two matches for our upcoming “On The Road: Fall 2009″ DVD at NWS’s 11/14 event in Basking Ridge, NJ. WSU brought two championship matches to the table, and at the end of the night, both champions were able to retain their titles.

In the first WSU bout of the evening, WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage made her first title defense as champion. The match was no walk in the park, as Savage was forced to defend against her former WSU Tag Team Champion partner, the former 2-time WSU World Champion, Alicia.

After turning on Alicia on 10/3 in what was a despicable display, in an event that saw Savage attempt to “American History X” curbstomp Alicia with a steel chair, Savage has turned into a new person. Shedding her former “Brooke Carter” persona, Savage has gone under her real name and has taken up a violent mean streak. WSU management and WSU fans have realized that ever since Savage took several falls in her tag matches with Alicia, Savage has shown a bit of jealousy to her former tag partner. That jealously led to a blind rage, when Savage ditched Alicia and tried to end her comeback.
Not wanting to wait, Alicia asked for a match with Savage right away, before Savage won the WSU Spirit Championship on 10/10. WSU officials hurried to put this match together in the interest of our fans. After waiting for nearly a month, Alicia got her first crack at Savage on 11/14.

In a match that started off fast in the ring, the wrestling was quickly thrown out of the window, as Alicia charged Savage with all her might and smashed Savage to the floor with a running body blow. Savage went flying to the floor like a rag doll. Savage was quick to hold her knee and it appeared Savage was injured. NWS officials and referees went to check on Savage. Alicia, not sure to trust Savage, initially looked skeptical, but the skepticism turned into legit concern when Savage came up limping.

Alicia, not wanting to win the championship because of an in jury, helped Savage with the NWS officials and started to bring Savage to the back for medical attention. However, before they could get to the curtain, Savage quickly snapped and used Alicia’s concern against her, tossing Alicia into the concrete floor. Savage then jumped up and started dancing like a rockette, spitting into the faces of the concerned fans.

Savage continued her assault on the former 2-time WSU champion. Alicia, competing in her first singles match since her comeback in June, did not have the conditioning that the champion had. Savage quickly stomped away at Alicia and made sure Alicia had no time to breathe.

However, Savage’s dominance would be short-lived, as Alicia fought valiantly back, like the true champion she is. As Alicia was setting up Savage for her finisher, Savage quickly bailed out and grabbed her WSU Spirit Championship. Alicia was confused as Savage started heading to the back. The referee started to count Savage out and would not Alicia pursue chase.

Savage started counting along with the referee and it looked like Savage’s “Plan B” to retain the WSU Spirit Championship for the night would work. As the ref counted to 10, Savage had a grin in her face. She outsmarted Alicia and WSU fans and kept her championship for another night, as WSU Championships can not change hands on count-outs or disqualifications.

Alicia was beyond furious with the decision and Savage’s unwillingness to give Alicia a real match. Alicia won the match by count-out, but Savage won the mind-game battle.

With the fans booing Savage for her cowardly actions, NWS commissioner Gino Moore, making it known that he has jurisdiction of WSU matches on NWS events said this match was a farce. Gino ruled that Savage may have kept her championship tonight, but it might not be for long, as Gino booked an immediate rematch between Savage & Alicia for next week in Ridgefield Park, NJ. As a result of Gino’s ruling, a new match was made for 11/21 at the Ridgefield Park Knights of Col umbus, located at 106 Bergen Ave. in Ridgefield Park, NJ. That match is:

For the WSU Spirit Championship
In a No-Count Out Match
* If Savage Loses by Count Out, the Championship will Change Hands!
(c) WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage vs Alicia

Savage was enraged when hearing Gino’s announcement and Alicia had a smile from ear to ear. This war between former partners is just starting to begin and if 11/14 is any indication, expect a wild and crazy fight between these former tag team champions.
—

In the other match of the evening, perhaps the best womens wrestler in all of the world today, WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez turned back another difficult challenge, as she defeated former TNA Knockout Champion Angelina Love.

Angelina Love, who many regarded as one of the best women wrestlers on the national stage before her TNA release, came to this match more beautiful and more determined than ever before. Love quickly showed no respect for the champ or the fans in the crowd and Martinez wanted to prove to the world that she will take on all challengers.

In an excellent near 15 minute bout, Martinez was able to put away Love after her patented fisherman suplex driver/brainbuster. Martinez, who is battling several nagging injuries, told WSUWrestling.com after the match that “Love was a tough opponent tonight. She deserves to be on anyone’s TV, but when you’re in the WSU ring with me, you’re in the ring with the very best. I don’t care that I need surgery right now. All that matters to me is the WSU World Championship. I have more on my plate than ever before with the WSU Tag Team Championships with Angel Orsini, but you have my word I will never lose my focus as WSU World Champion. I will be my very best on 12/12 when I finally get my hands on Rain. Rain better bring hers, because if Rain didn’t put me away on 10/3, she sure as hell won’t put me down now. I will never forget what you did to me Rain and when I see you on 12/12, all I will be thinking about is ho w you tried ending my career on 10/3. If you’re lucky, you’ll still have your career after 12/12.”

===

WSU will return with another full blown event on 12/12. Here is the details on that event:

National Tour -November 2009

Tickets on sale now

For the first time ever, Wrestling Legend Hulk Hogan will tour Australia. His new event HULKAMANIA – Let the Battle Begin, will be playing arenas in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney, November 2009.

Ric Flair has been coaxed out of retirement to battle Hulk Hogan in what may be the ultimate grudge match. HULKAMANIA will also feature some of the top stars of wrestling that compete all over the world including Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, Aumaga, Kishi, Black Pearl, Mr Ken Anderson, Shannon Moore, Heidenreich, Pimp Fatha, Brian Knobs, The Nasty Boys, Rock of Love, Orlando Jordan, Vampire Warrior, Val Venis, Stephanie Pietz, Koa-Marie, Jimmy Hart, Lacey von Erich, U Gene, Kiara Dillion, Paul London and more in the ultimate spectacular HULKAMANIA.

For over two decades the name Hulk Hogan has been synonymous with sports entertainment and professional wrestling. Having set live attendance records all over the world including a live gate of more than 96,000 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome, Hulk Hogan has set his sites on Australia as his next frontier.

Hulk made a quick visit to Australia last week and caught a few footy games while he was here.

“Australia is such a beautiful country with beautiful people,” said Hogan. “My fans in Australia are so loyal, I am so glad that we can finally bring Hulkamania to them”

HULKAMANIA will also include state of the art production; the arenas will be plastered with large screens to show the audience what is happening back stage in between wrestling matches. The night will also contain audience participation, a huge pyrotechnics display and more.

From his early beginnings as a young wrestler training under the tutelage of the famed Hiro Matsuda who intentionally broke Hulk Hogan’s leg on his first day of training just to test his desire, Hulk Hogan’s larger that life persona and matching arms have turned the industry into the phenomenon it is today.

Also known as The Nature Boy, Ric Flair is among the most well known wrestlers in the world, and is one of wrestling’s biggest stars. Flair was often popular with the crowd due to his in-ring antics, his cocky interview style, strutting and his shouting of “Woooooo!” The “Woooooo!” yell has since become a tribute to Flair, and is often shouted by the crowd whenever they see Ric.

Unlike most professional wrestling tag teams, Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs are childhood friends known as the Nasty Boys; The Nasty Boys defeated The Hart Foundation for the World Tag Team Championship and held the titles until 1991. BLACK PEARL His grace was born to wrestle.
The aristocratic “Count Of California” is a gifted athlete who mixes impressive size and strength with astonishing agility for a man of his size.

Kishi is one of the most popular and charismatic stars in the history of professional wrestling. He is a 3-time Tag Team Champion and a former Intercontinental Champion who has feuded with the likes of “Stone Cold Steve Austin,” “The Rock” and “Kurt Angle.” The “Samoan Bulldozer”
Aumaga is prepared to run over the competition in Australia. This seemingly uncontrollable savage loves to inflict pain on his opponents, and has left a large wake of destruction behind him thanks to his devastating and debilitating Samoan Spike. Darkness will spread in the arenas of Australia when Vampire Warrior’s sinister presence is made.
Vampire Warrior formed a faction known as “The Brood” along with “Edge”
and “Christian.” The trio eventually became part of “The Ministry Of Darkness” under the rule of “The Undertaker.”

Hey wrestling fans, we’re doing a 3 hour show featuring 50 wrestlers, 15 of which have wrestled for WWE/ECW/WCW with tickets starting at a mere ten bucks with all proceeds going to help finance the untimely funeral services of wrestler Paul E Normus.

Pro Wrestling Syndicate presents Brawl For Paul this Friday night May 29 at The Garfield Boys & Girls Club on 490 Midland Ave in Garfield, NJ. Belltime is 8pm. Pre-Show Meet&Greet from 7-8pm.

All proceeds from this event will be donated live at the event to the parents of the late Paul E Normus! Tickets are on sale now ranging from $10-25 by visiting www.ProWrestlingSyndicate.com or by calling 1-800-838-3006.

APPEARING LIVE will be 2009 WWE Hall Of Famer “The Birdman” Koko B Ware, Former ECW/WWE superstars Sabu, Nunzio, Balls Mahoney, Julio Dinero, The Zombie, and The Sandman, Former Smackdown star Kizarny, Former TNA Knock Outs So Val Val and Roxxi, former WCW star Missy Hyatt, Wrestling Legend Ox Baker, Former Pro Boxing Champion Butterbean, and many more.

With his Reality Check teammates banned from the building by PWS Commissioner Iron Sheik, PWS Champion Devon Moore will have to defend his title in a Four Way Elimination Match against Grim Reefer, Balls Mahoney, and the masked Deadpool! Devon Moore has been reigning as PWS Champion for 13 months with victories over Kenny Omega, B-Boy, Sabu, M-Dogg 20, and Sonjay Dutt amongst others. All three of Devon’s opponents for this Friday night have been gunning for his title for months and with his Reality Check teammates Kevin Matthews + Tommy Suede banned from the building (and his other RC teammate Danny Demanto being fired from PWS) this one is expected to turn into a numbers game putting Devon at a disadvantage. However, Devon has consistently beaten the odds for 13 months and with this match going Elimination Rules, any of these four men have a legit chance walking out as PWS Champion.

Former Pro Boxing Super Heavyweight Champion (star of K1, star of UFC, 5x Strong Man Champion, reality show star, etc etc) Butterbean will be making his first time ever appearance in the Tri-State Area and has issued an open challenge to ANYONE in the PWS Locker Room! Fans we will be honest with you here; originally PWS planned to have Butterbean go up against Matt Morgan whom badly wanted to be part of this event as he and Paul E Normus were friends, but however due to a very unfortunate car accident, Morgan cannot compete on Friday night. So who will it be? Who will have the guts to get into the ring with this 400 plus pound human wrecking machine? Keep in mind folks that Butterbean has legit knocked out former WWE stars Bart Gunn and Sean O’Haire in a matter of seconds and in addition to his power punches, Butterbean also has an arsenal of submission manuevers. Butterbean defeated former Wrestling Society X star Aaron Aguilera via submission in a MMA contest!

20 superstars will be competing in the over the top rope elimination E-Normus Rumble Match! These stars include former ECW/WWE superstar Sabu, former ECW/WWE superstar The Sandman, the first man to ever compete in the ECW ring on Sci-Fi The Zombie, former undefeated WWE Smackdown star Kizarny, Paul E Normus’ former manager Rocksha 337, Paul E’s former M.O.B. tag team partner Jimmy Jact Cash, nephew of Wrestling Legend Tito Santana, Jay Santana, the nephew of Wrestling Legend Baron Mike Sicluna Malta The Damager, Philadelphia’s hard hitting rising star “Chainsaw” Joe Gacey, NJ’s own “Big Juicy” Justin Corino, former WWE developmental talent The Russian Shooter Mr. Stronko, Paul E’s Team Captain during his last ever match up One Warrior Nation, Paul E’s teammate during his last match ever Earl Cooter, Paul E’s life long friend Chris Envy, Philly’s lightweight rising star Joey Ettell, one of the most unique wrestlers of all time Shockwave The Robot, and more!

FOUR WAY HARD HITTING WAR ACTION…. in a match that would probably main event in most other places, we will see a four way match between the returning Trent Acid, the hard hitting Steve “Monsta” Mack , former ROH Champion Xavier, and the PWS debut of one of the hottest guys on the North East independent scene “The New Horror” Sami Callihan! This 4 Way War will be a one fall fight to the finish with the first of these superstars to score a pinfall or submission walking out the winner.

Paul E Normus’ protege Timmy Aiight whom will be accompanied by former TNA Knock Out So Cal Val will face off against Paul E’s mentor, none other than former ECW star + former WWE Lightweight Champion Nunzio in what promises to be an action packed technical seesaw battle.

The PWS Tag Team Titles are up for grabs in a 4 Way Gauntlet Match between The Best Around (TJ Cannon & Bruce Maxwell), Air-O-Dynamic (Javi Air & The Dynamic Sensation), The Urban Legends (Devious & Wes Draven), and since All Money Is Legal (K Pusha & K Murda) are no longer available to compete in this matchup, a mystery tag team has been added! Who will this mystery tag team be? Will it be a team that’s been seen in PWS in the past or will it be fresh faces? The Urban Legends will have their manager Sony Records hip hop star Poison Pen in their corner. Poison Pen will also be doing a music video shoot for the song “Facebreaker” which will be the first single off his upcoming album “The Money Shot” to be released on August 4, which features Silkk The Shocker, M.O.P., and Immortal Technique!

Paul E Normus’ last two opponents EVER will be squaring off in singles action, and folks this one will be a stiff shot match up to say the least as we will see DJ Hyde collide with the mammoth savage Fala whom will have his new manager Wrestling Legend Ox Baker in his corner!

We will also see female action as Annie Social takes on the debuting Brooke Carter! Annie’s been on a recent hot streak in PWS however Brooke’s been creating quite a buzz throughout the NJ wrestling scene.

Also in singles action we will see a battle of two very charismatic Latino indy stars as Azrieal takes on his wrestling student Pinkie Sanchez in a Teacher vs Student Match. Both of these guys have made an impact in PWS and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top between these two technical stars.

And in a matchup of bad blood, it will be Dave Logan squaring off against Bandido Jr!

There it is folks, ten matches spanning the course of 3 hours. But wait there’s more….

This show will also have a handful of special appearances including;
2009 WWE Hall Of Fame Inductee “The Birdman” Koko B Ware, Former WCW star Missy Hyatt, Former TNA Knock Out Roxxi, and the wide receiver of The Super Bowl XXV winning New York Giants “The Touchdown Maker” Stephen Baker will also be in the house!

Plus something that independent wrestling hasn’t seen before. Fans in Garfield NJ will be getting a very special message from main roster star Shad of Cryme Tyme! Shad was indeed a close friend of Paul E’s and you don’t want to miss out on what he has to say about his fallen brother.

The action starts at 8pm…and for fans that arrive early, there will be a special Pre-Show Match starting at 7:45pm featuring four stars from PWS’ developmental territory UWA! As 4 Way Matches are a trend on the main show because Paul E wrestled in a 4 Way Match at PWS’ first show which was at The Garfield Boys & Girls Club, the pre-show match will be no different as we will see a 4 Way Rookie Dream Match featuring Diamondback, Qiz, Nick Impact, and Ruin! These four young starts have been itching to show PWS fans what they’re capable of and they finally have their chance this Friday night in Garfield, NJ!

Also fans between 7:00 – 8:00pm , PWS will be running a Meet & Greet with several stars including Butterbean, Kizarny, Ox Baker, Koko B Ware, Roxxi, Missy Hyatt, Balls Mahoney, So Cal Val, Sabu, Nunzio, The Zombie, and more! A full hour for fans to get autographs and photos with their favorite superstars before the show stars! There will also be another autograph session during the show’s intermission!

And get this .. tickets start at just ten bucks! Thats cheaper then a movie in most places nowadays, let’s be real here. TEN DOLLARS is all it takes to witness all of this action live and in person!

Tickets are on sale right now by calling 1-800-838-3006 or by visiting www.ProWrestlingSyndicate.com

My Sacrifice Predictions
Our resident philosopher makes his choices for Sacrifice. He also throws in a few future predictions, as well.

It’s time for another monthly TNA Pay Per View. This time around, it’s Sacrifice. The main event is almost unique. Four men put something important up for a chance to earn or keep the World title. Sadly, the main event is incredibly predictable. As for the other matches, I won’t really need fresh batteries in the ol’ crystal ball to figure them out. Let’s take a look.

Kevin Nash v Samoa Joe

Backstory: There has been bad blood between these two since Joe insulted Scott Hall for no-showing a PPV. Prior to the birth of the Main Event Mafia, Nash even served as a coach/manager for Joe. Since the Mafia has come along, Joe has been a cornerstone of the Anti-Mafia faction, the Frontline. Upon returning from a beatdown by the Mafia, Joe has undergone a complete personality change. He now embraces this strange Nation of Violence mantra.Joe wants to destroy the entire Mafia…and everyone else, for that matter.

Predictions: I see a couple of paths that this one can go. The most likely is that Joe will end up getting himself DQ’d by the ref for failing to listen (or striking the ref). That will really tick off the crowd..The second option is that Nash does the old Finger-poke of Doom scenario from the 90s and then reveals that he has been the force in the black car, all along. Joe could then be announced as the newest member of the Mafia. Maybe I’m getting a little too deep in my thinking. I have to remember who the writers are. Ok, putting on Dunce cap. D’uh, Joe kicks butt and then punches da ref and loses. Ouch, that hurts to think at such a level.

Predicted Winner: Kevin Nash (by DQ)
Predicted Grade: C

A.J. Styles v Booker T
TNA Legends Title Match (I Quit rules)

Backstory: Booker T created the Legends title for himself. He dropped the belt to A.J. Styles. Styles wants to show the world that he, too, is a Legend in the business. This match was created to end their feud. It is the ultimate ending of a feud…having someone quit.

Prediction: This one is going to be a catalyst for a major feud between Booker and Kevin Nash. This one is going to flashback to the old Arnold Skaaland screws Backlund scenario. Jenna will grab the towel that Sharmell is holding and toss it in the ring. The ref won’t see it and figure that Sharmell threw it in. There will be a Catfight from Hell and Booker and Kevin will pull them apart. Kevin and Booker will then yell at each other, setting the stage for a future confrontation. I expect a Booker face turn, soon.

Predicted Winner: A.J. Styles
Predicted Grade: B

Taylor Wilde v Daffney
Knockouts Monster’s Ball Match

Backstory: Daffney was brought in as a Sarah Palin (remember her?) imitator. She gave the Beautiful People a hard time. The Governor, as she was then known, had her long locks sheared by Angelina Love and Velvet Sky. Daffney then had a mental meltdown, augmented by the pathetic Dr. Stevie. Daffney has turned her anger and hostility towards a former ally, Taylor Wilde. It’s not clear as to why, but it likely has to do with the whole hair cutting thing. Dr. Stevie set Daffney in the Monster’s Ball match to get out her inner aggression (you mean she has more?).

Prediction: This is such a vehicle to push Daffney. With Roxxi gone, Daffney has become the resident Hardcore Honey in TNA. She is going to annihilate Taylor in this one. Taylor has been on a steady declined since she dropped the Knockout title back to Kong. I’m thinking Wilde may be nearing the end of her contract and this could provide her exit from the company. Expect a lop-sided battle where Wilde ends up a bloody mess.

Predicted Winner: Daffney
Predicted Grade: B (for Bloody)

Suicide v Daniels
X-Division Title Match

Backstory: Suicide showed up in the TNA video game (a decent game, by the way). Life imitated art as someone (Kaz) became the masked man. Daniels also did a run under the hood when Kaz was injured. Daniels also worked as Curry Man for quite awhile, following Daniels’ losing in the Feast or Fired match, a year ago. When Curry Man lost in the Feast or Fired, this year, Daniels showed back up. He was brought in by Jeff Jarrett to help in his battles. The Motor City Machine Guns and Lethal Consequences were convinced Daniels was the skeleton-faced grappler so they tried to unmask him. Daniels came from the back to protect Suicide. Daniels told Suicide that the masked man “owed me one”. This title match is what he was talking about.

Prediction: This is the only one that has me puzzled. Suicide isn’t working to the level that TNA had hoped. Daniels seems a little lost since he returned. Both men stand in line to battle Lethal Consequences, the Motor City Machine Guns, Kiyoshi and Bashir. It really isn’t going to matter who holds the belt. It’s always a risky idea to have two faces square off. The match is going to be outstanding but the crowd is going to be split. This could actually really hurt Suicide. If he wins, he gets to be a heel with few faces to defend the X-Strap again. If he loses, his disappearance from the ring could be a permanent one. Kaz would come back and all would be as before. It simply depends on if TNA is ready to get rid of the masked man or not. I kind of think they will milk Suicide for every drop possible. Sadly, I think this match will go to a No Contest, when the Guns and/or Lethal Consequences rush the ring and attack both men. It will be a lousy ending to a show-stealer match, but it’s the writers M.O.

Predicted Winner: No Contest (Suicide retains)
Predicted Grade: A+ (Action), B (Ending)

Angelina Love v Awesome Kong
Knockout Title Match

Backstory: Love tied Kong’s dreadlocks to the cage at Lockdown and escaped the cage to win the Knockouts title. Kong has gone on a rampage, eliminating all the members of The Beautiful People/Mi Pi Sexy (including Kute Kip). Kong has stated, through Raesha Saeed, that she’s more interested in hurting Love (for taking the title and cutting her hair) than winning the Knockout title.

Prediction: This one’s going to be seriously easy to predict. Much like Samoa Joe, Kong is out of control. She is going to most likely get herself disqualified on Sunday. There are, of course, other options. Saeed could turn on Kong, so she can lose the Burka and become a Beautiful People member (as Cheerleader Melissa, her alter ego). That’s really not likely to happen. Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky and/or Kute Kip could rush out to attack Kong for putting them out. Again, I’m not expecting that as the way this one goes. I just think Kong is going to rip into Love like a California Wildfire. Love will keep her belt, by DQ, but she’s going to come out of this one in much worse shape than she went in. Love has been battling an injury. This might give her a chance to surrender the belt and recover. It could set up a Knockout tourney for the belt, with the finals at Slammiversary. There I go, thinking above the writers’ heads again. Oh well, Kong isn’t leaving the PPV with the belt, due to a DQ.

Predicted Winner: Angelina Love (by DQ)
Predicted Grade: C+

Beer Money, Inc v The British Invasion
The Finals of the Team 3D Tag Team Invitational Tag Team Tournament

Backstory: Team 3D created the tag tourney to help push tag team wrestling in TNA. They opened the door for several teams to compete for a trophy, $100,000 and a future title shot. The Brits came out of nowhere to work their way to the finals. Beer Money, the second best team in TNA, worked through several teams to get to the finals. Beer Money came to the aid of Team 3D when the Brits tried to beat down the tag champs.

Predictions: I’m going out on a limb with this one. With the attack on Team 3D by the Brits, it seems obvious that the Brits are going to win. British Invasion has a 3-on-2 advantage on Beer Money, going in. They should be able to use Big Rob Terry to tip the balance in their favor. This PPV needs one good swerve. I think this is the match where it is going to happen. Team 3D will likely be at ringside for the match. Ray and Devon are going to be the deciding factor. They will take out Rob Terry to even the sides. They will also distract the Brits, allowing Beer Money to take out Williams with the DWI.

Predicted Winners: Robert Roode and James Storm, Beer Money
Predicted Grade: A

Mick Foley v Sting v Kurt Angle v Jeff Jarrett
Ultimate Sacrifice Match with the following stipulations:

If Mick Foley gets pinned, he loses the TNA Heavyweight Title
If Kurt Angle gets pinned, he gives up leadership of The Main Event Mafia
If Sting gets pinned, he has vowed to never wrestle again
If Jeff Jarrett gets pinned, he gives up his power in TNA

Backstory: Mick Foley survived a brutal cage match to take the title from Sting at Lockdown. Foley did get “25 big ones” in his head, just in case you hadn’t heard. Each person has put up something to be in this match (see above). Jarrett’s going in with a partially torn hamstring. Kurt has been pretty inactive, as of late. Sting has barely worked since dropping the belt.

Prediction: This one is far too easy, which means I will probably get it wrong. The signs are as clear as crystal. Jarrett and Foley are fighting over power in TNA and suddenly Jeff puts up his control of TNA. Kurt and Sting are mere red herrings in this match. They will cancel each other out. Sting doesn’t want or need to be in charge of the Mafia. No one really has an issue that would want them to send Sting into retirement, with the possible exception of Foley. I think it all comes down to Foley v Jarrett. If Foley takes Jarrett’s power, it could lead to a fantastic match at Slammiversary. I’m really waiting for Kurt to side with Foley to take out Sting and Jarrett. It could be revealed, later, that Foley is the newest member of the Mafia. He would replace Sting, who was booted from the group. Sting would get a full face turn to finish out his career. Jarrett would then go on a crusade to get back his power. Creative could even set it up where Jarrett would have to defeat each and every member of the Mafia to get to Foley. Once he did that, he would get to try and take back his power. Jarrett could surprise everyone with Bobby Lashley, who would be on Jarrett’s side. All this based on Foley gaining control, for the moment, of TNA. That’s how I would book it.

Predicted Winner: Mick Foley (pins Jeff Jarrett)
Predicted Grade: A

Final Grade: B+
Final Thoughts: This PPV is a set-up for Slammiversary. I expect a huge X-division match with Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Daniels and Suicide, plus adding Homicide, Eric Young, Kiyoshi, Bashir, No Limit and/or Amazing Red. Jeff Jarrett will likely be in the middle of battling the Mafia to get back his power. He might end up facing all of the members in a Gauntlet Match or some kind of multiple person tag team, using Sting and Bobby Lashley as his partners. A.J Styles is likely going into a feud with Samoa Joe. Beer Money, The British Invasion and Team 3D are heading for a Triple Tag Team war over the World Tag straps. Sunday is going to be a passingly good show but it’s just part one of a two-parter. To be continued…at Slammiversary.

Peace

WSU TO MAKE HISTORY ON JUNE 6TH WITH THE FIRST EVER WSU IRONWOMAN MATCH

In case you missed it, here is exclusive news from the WSU message board:

“Following the heels of this weekends tournaments, Angel Orsini has challenged Mercedes Martinez to a 60-Minute IronWoman Match. Martinez has accepted the match on two conditions. Those two conditions are that this will be the last time these two butt heads for the championship no matter what, win/lose/draw, as Martinez has plans on defending the championship against everyone on the roster and that everyone is banned from ringside. Orsini has accepted and added the condition that “when I win my belt back, Martinez will have no rematch clause”.

Martinez vs Orsini has been the most heated and most personal feud ever in WSU history. We’ve seen these two brawl all over buildings, throw each other across balconies, fight to heated draws, display e xcellent and superior mat wrestling skills, use weapons, fight inside a steel cage, go toe-to-toe in a bullrope match, spill blood and everything else you could possibly imagine.

On June 6th, 2009, it will be Martinez vs Orsini for what could be the last time ever in WSU, as neither woman will get a rematch at the championship after this bout, as per the clauses in their contract for this match.

Both are aware of the history behind the Ironwoman match. Both have expressed to WSU that they both know that this could be the longest ever womens wrestling match in the United States, if not in all of womens wrestling history.

WSU promises this will be a historic match of the most significant magnitude.

To ensure that there aren’t any wishy-washy falls or a cheap ending, WSU is making this an “Uncensored Rules” match, basically meaning that there will be no count-outs or DQ’s. If anyone in the WSU roster attempts to interfere in this match, they will be s uspended from WSU for a year.

In the event of a 60-minute draw, WSU will use “Sudden Death” overtime rules, where the first person to score a fall will be determined the winner and thus WSU Womens Champion.

Both Orsini & Martinez talked about this match which will air on a future episode of WSU online TV.”

Orsini & Martinez has been so much in WSU. There history has been recapped countless times on WSUwrestling.com. These once tag team partners have been feuding with each other in WSU ever since 3/22/08. It all ends on 6/6/09 in this historic match. Not only will one of the greatest women wrestling feuds of all time finally end with a clear-cut winner, we could perhaps witness the longest womens wrestling match in history, and really who else better than to be in this type of match than the two people who have represented what WSU is all about – Angel Orsini & Mercedes Martinez.

Both Orsini & Martinez are in strict training program s. Angel Orsini has hired a former Army drill sergeant to train her and help build up her endurance. Orsini’s workouts have been private and closed to the media, but Orsini’s trainer did say that Orsini will be more than ready to go 60 minutes. Orsini would not comment about how she is building up her endurance, but said that “It’s not question of if I will go 60 minutes, it’s a question of just how many times will I beat Martinez in 60 minutes!”

Martinez, who has had many lengthy matches in WSU, is sticking with her daily training as it has been a key to her success for her entire career. Martinez did state that she is being extra careful of what she puts in her body. In fact, Martinez had to give away cookies & sweets given to her by her fans, as she doesn’t want to risk putting anything that could negatively affect her diet going into this match. Martinez told WSUWrestling.com that “This is the biggest match of my life. When the match is over, win or lose, this match will make history. Not only are we ending this feud once and f or all in this match, we will have one of the, if not the longest match in womens wrestling history. This is really an honor that WSU would allow us to showcase womens wrestling with this type of match. I do not want to give Orsini any type of advantage. In fact, did you know I haven’t driven my car ever since this match was announced? I’ve been riding the bike everywhere. Tell Orsini to be ready, cause I’ll be more than ready to go 60 minutes on 6/6.”

UPDATE FOR 5/18/09:

A WSU freelance reporter caught up with Mercedes Martinez as she was about to go training in Waterbury, Connecticut. Martinez granted our reporter several minutes of interview time. Below is our reporter’s transcript:

WSU Reporter: Mercedes Martinez, I know you are busy and I thank you for your time. I will make this quick. June 6th, 2009 you will defend the WSU Championship in what is being billed as an historic and epic match for all of womens wrestling. Your thoughts going into the m atch and about Angel Orsini?

Martinez: “You know, I’ve been r eading all the hype, reading fan emails, listening to what Orsini has to say and as we get closer to 6/6, and don’t take this as a sign of weakness, I am feeling the pressure. But let me say, I’m feeling this pressure in a good way. This isn’t going to be a ho-hum thing , some bullshit, this is going to be one of the most historic matches in womens wrestling. Where do you see two women wrestlers get this type of match? I do want to thank WSU for having the cajones to give us this proper match. I don’t care about words like “angles”, “storylines” whatever you want to call it, I care about competition and being the best. Every one who follows WSU knows that for the last year, myself and Orsini have been battling neck and neck over the WSU title. At some point in time it has to end and I can’t think of a better way than this Ironwoman match. When it’s all said and done one of us will become the top woman in wrestling and the other is going to have to reinvent themself, because t he loser doesn’t get a rematch for the belt.

I mean looking ahead, just think about it. For the past year myself and Orsini have waged war and have had some great matches in my opinion. It all ends on 6/6 in this 60 minute match. I can’t imagine myself not in the WSU title picture. The person who loses this match will have a lot of time to reflect and think.

When I first came to WSU I was on the D/L and WSU allowed me to do some interviews, managing and quick stuff. That whole time, all I could think about was being WSU champion. I couldn’t be WSU champion then because of my injuries, you know physically. Now, to think that I couldn’t be WSU champion because I lost a match stating I can’t get a rematch? I can’t even begin to ponder that and that is why I must, NO, that is why I WILL WIN this match.

Orsini , me and you have alot of history girl, and on 6/6 , I’m closing the book. Two roads will intersect on 6/6, but after 6/6 those roads will diverge. One of those roads will be the road to self-discovery and questioni ng. The other road will be the golden road as WSU champion. That is the road I will be on, and I’m not talking shit, because I know what you got Angel, but this belt, this company, the meaning and premise of this match , everything Angel, it is my world and no one is going to slam the door on my world.”
WSUWrestling.com caught up with Orsini after a closed training session in New Brunswick, NJ. Orsini made the following comments:

“You know, this is the biggest match of my life. I’ve never been in an IronWoman Match. This is my last shot at winning back the most prestigious prize in womens wrestling, the WSU Championship. I’m training for this match like I’ve never trained before. I really don’t know what to expect nor know how I will feel at the end of this match. I am confident in my abilities and know I can win this match.”

When asked if age could play a factor in this match, due to Orsini being 10 years older than Martinez, Orsini said:

“Age hasn’t affected my career in WSU. Before I came around, WSU was known as Alicia’s playground. It was alot of rookies and up and comers here. I proved in the last year that I can go with anyone. I will put my body of work in WSU against any woman wrestler in the world. Age means shit. I have passion, desire and more than anything I crave to have that WSU Championship back around my waist. Martinez and I have a long history, and despite everything we’ve been through, I can say that I know this won’t be a cakewalk. I know this will be the hugest challenge of my career, to perform at this level and in this type of match… to win this would cement my legacy in womens wrestling.”

On the chance that Orsini may walk out of Boonton empty handed:

“It won’t happen. Martinez is one of the best around, but I’m still the teacher and I haven’t finished teaching Martinez. The possibility of me losing this match and being out of the WSU title picture is a reality that I will not acce pt. Martinez will be in this business when I hang up the boots and t hen she can have the championship, but for right now , it is my time. WSU means the world to me and to be the WSU champion means I am the very best in womens wrestling. To not have that belt would be a great disservice to me and for everything I believe.”

It’s fair to say that as we rapidly approach 6/6, tensions are at an all-time high and one of the greatest feuds in the history of womens wrestling will come to a definitive end.

——–

NIKKI ROXX VS RAIN ADDED

With the advent of the news that former WSU Champion Nikki Roxx will be making her WSU return on 6/6, WSU has been flooded with requests from stars asking for a one-on-one match. Roxx is one of the top female wrestlers in the country and many wrestlers are looking to make their name off of her. Rain was on the top of that list.

Rain, who started with WSU in the beginning of 2009, is marking her mid-year point with the company. In 6 short months, Rain has left her mark and h as interjected herself all over the place.

Rain proved that she is no slouch and no fluke, when she defeated Rachel Summerlyn on the “White Album” and “Poetic Injustice Caged” DVDs. Rain also showed her allegiance to then-WSU champion Angel Orsini, by slamming a steel cage door in Mercedes Martinez’s face.

Rain then ruined Malia Hosaka’s Hall of Fame night by using a steel chair to defeat her in the middle of the ring.

Rain, in her quest to become WSU champion, almost earned a WSU Championship match by making it to the finals of this year’s J-Cup. However, Rain was defeated by her partner in crime Angel Orsini. We then found out that Orsini/Rain made a pact in January that Rain would protect Orsini’s championship and in return Orsini would give Rain a title shot. However, when Rain was banned from ringside during the eventual Orsini/Martinez Bullrope match, Orsini lost the championship and the pact was for naught.

In a triple threat match, at th e King & Queen of the Ring 2009 DVD, Martinez was able to pin Ra in to win the match. Rain has since claimed that this shouldn’t count against her in the WSU rankings because it was a triple threat match and she was distracted.

With Nikki Roxx returning to WSU, Nikki has similiar aspirations and goals of Rain, and that is to win the WSU championship. If you recall, Nikki Roxx defeated Sunny for the WSU Championship at the “2008 King & Queen of the Ring DVD” and would go on as WSU champion before losing it to who would go on to be the most dominant champion of all time, Angel Orsini. Since then, Roxx has never received a WSU Championship rematch.

While the Uncensored Rumble will determine the new number 1 contender to the WSU Championship, one thing is for certain, these two eclectic personalities will clash one-on-one for the first time ever in WSU and perhaps the winner of this match will use that momentum to go on to win the Uncensored Rumble.

Rain has stated that, “Here I am sitting back and not even announced for 6/6. It’s like I was completely forgotten. That is BS. I will take out the precious Roxxi, Voodoo bitch whatever the hell she is calling herself and maybe for shits and giggles I’ll shave her head for her too. WSU fans have not even seen me scratch the surface here and it’s only a matter of time before I do what I set myself out to do and that is to win the WSU championship and run this company.”

Roxx has accepted the challenge and will also appear live on a special edition of Missy’s Manor, hosted by Missy Hyatt.

—–

Uncensored Rumble II Takes Place on 6/6

WSU will be presenting three seperate cards all for only $12 on 6/6. Matches from other WSU shows at otehr indy events will be used on the DVD releases of these shows. The first show (read below for matches) will take place at 5PM. When that show is over, we will have a quick intermission, and we will have the annual Uncensored Rumble. Last year’s Rumble went for almost nearly an hour, and with more wrestlers entering this year, this Rumble is gu aranteed to be longer. After the rumble, we will take another brief break, and then we will close the show with the WSU Championship Ironwoman match between Martinez & Orsini.

With that said, “The Uncensored Rumble” is one of WSU’s most exciting matches all year. This match pits many wrestlers on the WSU roster in a “Royal Rumble” rules battle royal match. For those unfamiliar with the rules here they are:

Uncensored Rumble Rules

This is a battle royal match, where eliminations occur when a wrestler is thrown over the top rope with both feet touching the floor. Pinfalls or submissions do not apply.

Two wrestlers will start the match. The two wrestlers chosen to start the match will be randomly chosen via the wrestlers drawing their number backstage. However, the 2009 Uncensored Rumble match will have the first and last spots pre-determined based on the events on the upcoming 4 vs 4 Elimination match that takes place on 6/6. (Details in next section.)

Every two minutes, a new wrestler will enter the match.

The winner of this match will be determined when everyone in the match has entered. The last woman remaining in the ring will be declared the winner, and will have earned a future WSU championship match.

So far, entering this year’s Rumble match are:
1. Nikki Roxx
2. Rain
3. Brooke Carter
4. Jessicka Havok
5. Hailey Hatred
6. Cindy Rogers
7. Annie Social
8. Roxxie Cotton
9. Rick Cataldo
10. Sean Hanson
11. Jana
12. Trixie Lynn
13. Kacee Carlisle
14. Lea Morrison
15. Latasha
16. Amy Lee
17. Missy Sampson
18. Lady Divine
19. Jennifer Cruz
20. ??? (WSU has been requested to keep this spot open by a mysterious entrant)

As you can tell, the field for this year’s rumble is arguably stronger than last years. With the prize being the number 1 contender to the WSU Championship, expect everyone to bring their best.

In an upda te, WSU offices have been asked to keep a spot open by an anonymous entrant. This entrant stated in her note that “It’s about time I take what’s mine. The fans know me and I won’t disappoint.” As everyone knows, anything can happen in WSU and we’re saving the spot open for this anonymous wrestler.

===

WSU ON THE ROAD
WSU is proud to announce that the WSU championship will be defended one more time before we head to 6/6.

Both Martinez & Orsini have been putting themselves through grueling matches in order to prepare for the Iron-Woman match. Orsini defeated Jana on 5/1 at an FCW event in Brooklyn, NY. Not to be outdone, Martinez defeated Brooke Carter at an NWS show in Middletown, NJ. Both these matches will be released on DVD shortly.

Now both Orsini & Martinez will meet in a ring one last time before their epic Iron-Woman match, as WSU will have the first ever WSU Womens 6-Pack Challenge for the WSU Championship!

On May 30th, you will see WSU Champion Mercedes Martinez vs Former Champion Ang el Orsini vs WSU Tag Champion Brooke Carter vs Former WSU Tag Champion Annie Social vs Former WSU Tag Champion Roxxie Cotton vs an opponent to be named shortly, as the original participant of this match, WSU’s own, Miss April has moved on to the WWE.

This match pits some of WSU’s most decorated stars in one match, all for the WSU Championship. This is a dangerous match to put on so close to the huge June 6th event. Both Orsini & Martinez have hinted to WSUWrestling.com that they have a vested interest in making sure that nobody but themselves win this match, to guarantee their title match stays in tact on 6/6. This match will be one fall to a finish. Both Orsini & Martinez know what’s on the line here. Could we actually see these two work together to make sure their championship match isn’t interfered with? This could be one strange match for WSU.

Here is the show information:

Congratulations to the New Champions

Over the last few months, Pro Wrestling Riot has held the Road to Gold Tournaments to determine the first Pro Wrestling Riot Heavyweight Champion and the first Pro Wrestling Riot Tag Team Champions. Pro Wrestling Riot wants to congratulate Bruce Santee who won the sixteen man tournament by defeating Roderick Strong in the first round, Shawn Osborne in the quarterfinals, Chris Jones in the semifinals and Sideshow in the Finals.

Despite the problems that Pro Wrestling Riot has had with 911 Incorporated since day one, they congratulate the Dark City Fight Club of Jon Davis and Kory Chavis who outlasted seven other teams to win the Pro Wrestling Riot Tag Team Titles. The Dark City Fight Club defeated The Lifeguards in the quarterfinals, The British Lions in the semifinals, and Bumz R Us in the finals.

Who will challenge the new champions?

The Fallout from the Heavyweight Title Tournament

After Bruce Santee defeated Sideshow to win the Pro Wrestling Riot Heavyweight Title, Sideshow attacked Bruce Santee and Sideshow was assisted by C.J. O’Doyle who was in Sideshow’s corner. Sedrick Strong came out to help Bruce Santee but in the end, it was Sideshow and C.J. O’Doyle who had the upper hand.

Sideshow told Santee and the people in Port Richey the reason for the attack and he talked about how he thought Bruce was his friend, but when Sideshow was having issues with his sister and was away from Pro Wrestling Riot, he was never there and Santee would rather spend time with Sedrick. Sideshow has still not gotten beyond the issues that he has with Sedrick and his sister Danielle. Sideshow has been talking to his true friend, C.J. O’Doyle and they decided to become a team and will be known as the Celtic Sinners.

On May 1st, The Celtic Sinners will have their first match in Pro Wrestling Riot and they will face the new Pro Wrestling Riot Heavyweight Champion Bruce Santee and Sedrick Strong.

Pro Wrestling Riot Features Mustache Rides on May 1st

Another wrestler who has made his reputation on the west coast comes to Pro Wrestling Riot to show what he can do against the top talent in Florida . After TJ Perkins’ successful debut last month, Joey Ryan will try to win his debut in Pro Wrestling Riot. Ryan will have a tough opponent on May 1st when he faces Erick Stevens. Stevens returns to Pro Wrestling Riot after taking some away from the Pro Wrestling Riot ring. Stevens has had some of the top matches in Pro Wrestling Riot and he will try to do the same when he meets Joey Ryan in Port Richey.

A Giant Collision To Take Place on May 1st

The House of Vitale showed a few cracks the last time they appeared in Pro Wrestling Riot. During a non-tournament match, Lou the Fixer helped Ronnie the Red and Brett Thunder get the upset victory over the Heartbreak Express. After the match, The Heartbreak Express were fed up with what they considered to be Lou’s incompetence because of the problems that he caused for the House of Vitale over the last few months. Lou was fed up with the other members of the House of Vitale and he fought off an attack by the members of the House of Vitale.

Later in the night, Snow was involved in the Snow Open Challenge against Alejandro, who was accompanied by New Jack. After the match ended, Lou the Fixer came out to help New Jack and Alejandro and challenged Snow to a match. The challenge has been accepted and Lou the Fixer and Snow will meet on May 1st.

Francine’s statement:

In September, 2008 I lost two of the most important people in my life to cancer. My Father died on September 6th. He had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. As we were at my Dad’s wake on September 10th, we found out that my oldest sister Chrissy had passed away. She had cancer of the bile duct. She suffered for 10 months before she passed. I never even heard of that type of cancer as it’s extremely rare. I lost two family members 4 days apart from each other and it devastated me and my family. Then, a month later my other sister finds out that she has kidney cancer. Thank God they were able to remove her one kidney. She is ok now but it just goes to show that you never know what life has in store for you. I decided that I wanted to get the “original” boys back together and run a show at the greatest building in the word to me, The Arena. With a portion of the ticket sales going to The American Cancer Society, June 27th 2009 will be a great night for all. For all fans who purchase a superticket, we are going to have a fanfest starting at 1pm. Anyone who purchases the superticket (which will be limited to 240 tickets) gets a signed 8×10 of all superstars participating in the fanfest, a picture with your own camera as well and a Legends of the Arena chair. There will also be a Question and Answer session and lunch will be provided. Then, you will be treated to a old school “original” wrestling event. Wrestlers will be added as the weeks go on, but you can see who’s already coming in the slideshow to the left. Again, there are only 240 supertickets and 750 general admission tickets. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 9 at 5:00pm at www.thearena.biz so get your tickets while you can and enjoy a taste of the past while joining the fight against cancer! If you can’t make the event, please consider making a donation. On behalf of myself and my family, thank you all so much. Love you all, Francine xoxo
