My Elimination Chamber Predictions

Our resident philosopher looks at the next “gimmick” Pay-Per-View from the WWE, Elimination Chamber.

It used to be called No Way Out. Now, the WWE presents Elimination Chamber As of Saturday morning, when I’m writing this, the WWE has only scheduled four matches. Surely, they are going to toss in a few more. I’ll predict what we know, so far.

Maryse v Gail Kim
Divas Championship Finals

Backstory: Melina got injured and had to forfeit her title. The WWE ran a tournament to get to the final two. Gail and Maryse ended up in the finals.

Prediction: Gail Kim really should head back to TNA. She’s been misused ever since she stepped foot back into the WWE. I don’t expect that to change on Sunday. Gail will get some near-falls but Maryse will slap on her French Kiss DDT to become the new championette.

Predicted Winner: Maryse
Predicted Grade: B- (if we’re lucky)

The (Last) ECW Extreme Examination

Our resident philosopher looks at the very last episode of ECW.

The curtain rang down on the World of Extreme. With a somewhat heavy heart, I present the final ECW Extreme Examination.

This Week’s Episode: Goodbye, Again

The (NeXT to Last) Extreme Examination

Our resident philosopher looks at the penultimate edition of ECW.

ECW continued to wind down, this week. Everyone in the brand will become Free Agents when ECW shuts down. Vance Archer and Shelton Benjamin were the main event. Plus, the top contenders to Big and Awesome's Unified Tag Team titles.

Tiffany came out and talked to the ECW roster. She told everyone to have fun and enjoy the last two weeks. Tiffany donned some New Orleans beads adn started partying. Zack Ryder was worried about himself and Rosa Mendes's futures. Tiffany wanted to start Mardi Gras a little early.

Savannah introduced the first match. The winning team will get a shot at the Unified Tag titles on the final episode of ECW. ECW showed the loss of the tag belts to Big and Awesome. It was a Triple Threat match that also included the Straight Edge Society.

Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu came out first. Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta joined them in the ring.

Against All Odds Predictions

HeadLocker — Jay Shannon
My Against All Odds Predictions

Our resident philosopher breaks out his crystal ball, tea leaves and lucky coin to try and figure out the winners and losers of TNA’s next PPV.

Team 3D v The Nasty Boys

The Backstory: The Nasties came into TNA as part of Hogan’s influx of flunkies. They trashed the Team 3D locker room and made fun of the tag team specialists. Brother Ray and Brother Devon came back to beat the Hell out of Knobbs and Sags.

Predictions: In every reality, except wrestling, Team 3D should make The Nasties look iike the Mulkey Brothers. In the Hogan regime, I think the Nasties are going to be made to look good. It’s going to be one heck of a challenge but Team 3D is just that good. I honestly think this one will go to double DQ.

Predicted Winners: Double DQ
Grade: C (at best)

8 Card Stud Tournament
Opening Rounds:

Hernandez v Matt Morgan

Prediction: Morgan is one of Hogan's "boys" so I expect him to get the win. I don't expect any long-tem friction between the two. I'd love to see Homicide come to Hernandez's side but TNA still likes to push Homicide as "Un Vato Loco" (A Crazy Dude), so that's not going to happen.

Predicted Winner: Matt Morgan
Grade: B

The TNA (1/28) Impact Insight

The TNA (1/28) Impact Insight
Our resident philosopher, Jay Shannon, looks at this week’s rather chaotic edition of TNA Impact

The Hulk Hogan era continued. There was a new champion at the end of the night. All this and more on this week’s soap opera-ish edition of TNA Impact.

The show opened with the Mick Foley situation. Eric Bischoff came out, bloodied, and fired Foley. Also, Ric Flair named A.J. Styles as his successor. Hogan made a match between Styles and Kurt Angle. That led to the “Orlando Screwjob”. Kurt snapped, spat at Hogan and quit. There was question if Hogan was involved.

This Week’s Episode: Screwed?

Bischoff and Hogan made their way from the back. Hogan had been investigating the Angle/Styles match from last week. Hogan took the stick. Hogan said things were moving fast. Hogan called out Mick Foley. Mick slowly walked from the back. Taz and Mike Tenay were confused why Foley was there. Hogan said he wanted to work out the situation between Bischoff and Foley. Bischoff said he already took care of the situation by firing Foley. Hogan saw “good things” in Foley but Foley needed to be “reeled in”. Foley said that he didn’t touch Eric, last week, even though he wanted to. Eric yelled at Foley that no one believed Eric. Foley said Eric looked a little too good to have been trashed by him. (I said something like that, last week). Hogan warned them both “Work it out or walk out”.

Jeff Jarrett and Bubba, The Love Sponge walked in. Bubba was worried about the meeting with Hogan that he set up. Jeff told Bubba not to worry about it.

My Royal Rumble Predictions

My Royal Rumble Predictions:
Our resident philosopher breaks out his crystal ball, tea leaves and lucky coin to try and figure out the winners, losers and future implications of Sunday’s PPV.

The Royal Rumble is Sunday. It’s the kickstart to everything between Sunday and Wrestlemania. I’ve already plopped down my $45+ for the show. I want to try and sort through this, through in a few suggestions for the Rumble match. I also want to figure how things are going to go between now and Wrestlemania.

Undertaker v Rey Mysterio
World Title Match

Backstory: Little Rey Rey scooted out of the cage and kicked its door into Batista’s skull to earn the title shot. Undertaker is looking at a challenge from Shawn Michaels, maybe, at Wrestlemania. This match is just a straight-up battle.

Predictions: Batista is going to get in the middle of this bad boy, make book on it. Expect the next big PPV, an Elimination Chamber extravaganza, to include Rey, Taker, Batista, John Morrison, Chris Jericho and one cannon fodder guy (probably Finlay). Taker will keep his title, on Sunday, in a no-contest when Batista gets involved.

Predicted Winner: No Contest, Taker retains
Predicted Grade: B

The ECW Extreme Exam

The ECW (1/26) Extreme Examination
Our resident philosopher looks at the pre-Royal Rumble episode of ECW

ECW got things ready, on its side, for Sunday’s Royal Rumble. The ECW Champ, Christian, brought in some “Big Red Help” to battle Ezekiel Jackson and William Regal.

Regal introduced the person he felt would be the next ECW champ, Jackson. Jackson, who looks more and more like Ahned Johnson every day, stomped to the ring. ECW looked back at Jackson destruction of Christian, last week. Jackson taunted Christian about only having five days left as champion.Jackson was confident about winning the title. Jackson began to quote biblical scripture.

The ECW (1/19) Extreme Exam
Our resident philosopher looks at the somewhat chaotic episode of the Tuesday Night Delight.

ECW moved closer to the Royal Rumble, this week. Christian battled William Regal in a non-title match. Plus, Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu faced off against Barreta and Croft.

The show opened with a look back at the ECW Homecoming Battle Royal. Ezekiel Jackson took out Kane to take the win and earn a title shot at Royal Rumble.
