Zach Gowen joins the Indy Mayhem Show crew for a discussion in conjunction with the upcoming DVD release of “Finding Zach Gowen: The Life Story of the World’s First One-Legged Wrestler.” Gowen discusses the loss of his leg at a young age from cancer. He outlines his rise to become a star in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and talks about his life post-WWE. He also talked about his struggle with addiction and path to recovery – including a possible new era for professional wrestlers beating their addictions.

Phil “Nitro” Monahan defeated Lou Marconi to become a three-time NWA National Heavyweight Champion

Phil Nitro MonahanAt NWA World Wide Wrestling’s “Come Out and Play” event in Carolina Beach, NC on April 5, 2014, Phil “Nitro” Monahan defeated Lou Marconi to become a three-time NWA National Heavyweight Champion.

Marconi had defeated Monahan for the title on March 23 in Toledo, OH after Monahan ended Marconi’s first reign the day prior in Hillsdale, MI. Monahan won his first National title on September 14, 2013 from Damien Wayne in Toledo.

ECWA‘M Dogg 20’ Matt Cross is the 2014 ECWA Super 8 Champion!

Saturday April 5, 2014 marked year 18 of the most prestigious independent wrestling tournament… the ECWA Super 8! And what a night of fun, shocking moments, thrilling finishes, and surprises it was! Here’s a brief recap of the results coming out of this historic night:

*Damian Dragon would make his way to the ring to present the opening ceremony for the tournament only to be shocked when referee Phil Sly and his attorney came to the ring. Sly’s attorney went on to serve Dragon with papers seeking to collect damages for Dragon “injuring” his client last June. Dragon responded by tearing up the papers and giving the attorney a well timed Stone Cold Stunner*

WWE legends appear this weekend at IWF’s 17th annual Spring Bash

IWF 2IWF returns with a family-friendly Live Event Fundraiser to benefit American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Nutley.  The 17th annual spring extravaganza happens Saturday, April 12, 7:30 pm at the Rec Center, 44 Park Avenue, Nutley.

Headlining the card are main event bouts with popular WWE Legends The Extreme Original Tommy Dreamer, Hall of Famer Tito Santana & The Rocker Marty Jannetty.  There will be a special appearance by WWE Legend Young Stallion Jim Powers.

The film is a feature-length documentary focused on what it’s like to live a life in wrestling.
