Embattled AJ
I have complained about TNA’s booking and writing so often that regular readers like Nic Farey and Shelby Vick could probably write a fair imitation if I gave them the first line.

Hogan & TNA: Big Questions!
The Kingfish Arnie tackles the implications and possible ramifications of the year’s biggest wrestling story!

Pro Wrestling is built on hype. Big announcements are more common than silicone at a Las Vegas nude pool. Every story is the biggest” and every card is “the greatest of the year.”

Sometimes, though, the news is big. More than big; monumental. TNA’s signing of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff certainly falls into that category.

This could, in fact, Change Everything.

Let’s plunge into some of the questions that swirl around this headline0grabbing story. And let’s all understand that there are no definitive answers. I claim no “inside knowledge,” and am deeply suspicious toward anyone who does, especially on this topic. Frankly, I’m not sire even TNA management could say for sure.

Bragging Rights Analysis!
The Kingfish Arnie reports the major happenings at
Bragging Rights and delves into what it all might mean.

As a show, Bragging Rights added up to less than the sum of its parts. There was nothing truly horrible, but it was a B- package – and a PPV should rate at least a B+.

Bragging Rights: Preview & Predictions!
The Kingfish Arnie Katz has plenty to say about WWE’s 10/25 pay per view.

Maybe WWE shouldn’t brag.

This is a very weak show built around a gimmick that didn’t generate any fan excitement. One, of many, reasons is that WWE couldn’t promote it very well since they didn’t know the rules. It started out as an imitation of WCW’s WarGames, but it seems like WWE has decided instead to imitate WCW’s habit presenting pay per view matches that had not been thoroughly thought out and tested.

Bragging Rights Predictions

HeadLocker — Jay Shannon
My Bragging Rights Predictions
Our resident philosopher looks at the WWE’s newest “gimmick” Pay-Per-View.

The WWE is back with another one of their silly “gimmick” PPVs. It’s a situation of Smackdown v Raw. One of the main reasons for this one is to push Smackdown v Raw 2010. The concept has changed, a couple of times. Originally, the various winners of the undercard matches would be placed against each other in a Smackdown v Raw tag team battle. That idea was scrapped and the main event was turned into a 7-on-7 tag team war. Even that has been changed, as team members of Team Smackdown have been replaced by other Smackdowners. I’ll do my best to sift through this mess and try and figure out what the heck the WWE is trying to do.

Remembering Capt. Lou

Remembering Capt. Lou
The Kingfish Arnie Katz shares his memories of the late, great Capt. Lou Albano.

RAW’s tribute to the late Lou Albano brought back many memories. It was one of the longest such salutes WWE has done and, in this case, it’s entirely fitting.

His zany character had almost as much to do with the transformation of the WWWF from a Northeast promotion to one that spanned North America as Hulk Hogan or Vince McMahon.

My Bound for Glory Recap & Analysis

My Bound for Glory Recap & Analysis!
The Kingfish Arnie Katz reports all the happenings at TNA’s biggest show of the year and delves into the meaning of it all.

We don’t yet know whether the Wrestle Nation agrees that Bound for Glory was TNA’s biggest event of the year . The show, live from Irvine, CA, Sunday, October 18, made strong statement in favor of that distinction. It was an exciting three hours of entertainment – plus a very good half-hour pre-show — after a run of uninspiring pay per views from both of the major promotions.

Bound for Glory is sure to have some detractors, because it was far from perfect. The most obvious flaw was that they messed up the timing and had to bring home the main event very abruptly. Sting-Styles still gets a high grade, but it had to disappoint those who expected a “match of the year” candidate.

Let’s look at Bound for Glory, match by match, to see what happened and why.

My Bound for Glory Preview & Predictions!
The Kingfish Arnie Katz breaks out the crystal ball to get you ready for TNA’s number-one pay per view event of the year, Bound for Glory.

TNA keeps telling fans that Bound for Glory is the biggest pay per view of the year. Fans keep hoping that TNA is right. Great action in the ring can’t totally redeem meaningless matches and climaxes that get contradicted or wiped out entirely on the following episode of iMPACT</I.

On the final iMPACT before this show, the emphasis subtly shifted the concept of Bound for Glory. It’s now positioned as the make or break show for the Main Event Mafia. AJ Styles has vowed to destroy the group at this show, while Kurt Angle says hell celebrate the group’s first anniversary at the October PPV.

Of TNA follows through with a show that provides an exciting climax to the long storyline. It certainly seems like the right time to fold the MEM and if TNA can do it in spectacular fashion, Bound for Glory may end up as truly the best event of the year.

Let’s look at Bound for Glory, match by match, to see what’s in store – and what may happen.

The MAFIA On Trial
Typical of the way TNA does – or doesn’t – do things is the last-minute positioning of Bound for Glory, allegedly TNA’s premier pay per view of the year.
