Animal (Triumph Books, June 2013) by former pro wrestler George “The Animal” Steele and Jim Evans, foreword by Cowboy Bill Watts, is the chronicle of one man—and beast’s—life and career during wrestling’s golden era in the 1970′s and 80’s.

Animal melds the seemingly incompatible career paths Jim Myers followed. The life of Animal outside the ring wasn’t typical for a famous wrestler. In his own words, Myers explains that despite battling dyslexia, he graduated from Michigan State. He also married young, had a family and became a teacher and a coach at the high school he once despised.

WWE fans will have the opportunity to meet wrestling legend George “The Animal” Steele at a number of book signings he will be conducting throughout the U.S. this summer.  Steele will be greeting fans and signing copies of his brand new book.

Roddy Piper is set to appear in a new slasher film

Piper_3David Dexter reports “Rowdy” Roddy Piper is set to appear in a new slasher (horror) film, Smothered, alongside Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th) and Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects). The three play themselves as they are hired to haunt a trailer park. They soon discover that there is an actual maniac stalking them. John Schneider will direct the film, which is set to shoot in Louisiana.

Bret Hart’s ex-wife Julie releases her first book “Hart Strings”

Savio Vega is a 30 year veteran that has seen great success around the in Japan, United States, and Puerto Rico. Vega wrestled in the WWE for over Five years. His greatest rivals were Jeff Jarrett and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Vega soundly defeated Austin in a Caribbean Strap Match. Following the WWE Vega returned to Puerto Rico to wrestle and run IWA, also worked for TNA Wrestling as Talent Development, Road Agent for tevelson and Ring Ka King Program in India. Savio Vega now works for the biggest wrestling promotions in Puerto Rico, WWC.

FIGHTING BACK: WRESTLING WITH CANCER auctions from Canada
