It was five years ago this weekend that Eddie Guerrero left this world.

I first met Eddie Guerrero when he came into ECW in April 1994. There have been few within wrestling who’ve ever been genuinely nicer, or more approachable to fans than the Guerrero I got to know.

Dr. Mike Lano Remembers Edouard Carpentier

Some Great Carp Memories

by Dr. Mike Lano

I never clarified with L’Excellance Ed as to the correct spelling of his name or his preference, because since 1959 we saw all sorts of spellings from Edouard, Edourd, Edourdo, etc. whether he was “the first” AWA or WWA world champ (helping start both promotions actually), the Omaha “AWA” champ for the Duseks, his various WWWF appearances, both major runs in my homebase territory of Los Angeles, for Baba’s AJPW in ’73 and later the AWA-related IWE; of course his AWA and Montreal main runs and more.

Trevor Murdoch memories of Lance Cade

Trevor Murdoch breaks his silence to SLAM! Wrestling

In an exclusive interview with SLAM! Wrestling, Trevor Murdoch talks about the death of his partner and best friend, Lance Cade.

Murdoch wants everybody to share in some of his positive memories of Cade, rather than the people he dislikes for merely using the 29-year-old Cade as a political pawn during Linda McMahon’s Senate run.
“To be honest, there’s been a lot of other web pages that have called me, and I haven’t done anything with them. So whatever we do, I’d like you to put it out there to EVERYBODY,” Murdoch told SLAM! Wrestling Producer Greg Oliver. “I want everybody to read this. I want this to be what everybody reads and goes, ‘Holy shit, I didn’t know this about that situation. I didn’t know that about Lance.’

“I’m not going to talk to anybody else.”

Many of you know you’ve done it…at least once. You’re at a wrestling show. A wrestler blows a spot……bigtime… no way to really hide it or cover it up. All of a sudden coming out of your mouth is “you f$#ked up”. The crowd joins in.

Or on the same show…two wrestlers do some mat work, or go to a rest hold to get their breath. All of a sudden, that same mouth starts yelling “borrrrrrrrrring”.

It will be 11 years on Wednesday.

It’s the 11th anniversary of Brian Hildebrand’s passing after fighting a two year battle against cancer.

There are few people within wrestling who were held in such universally high regard at the time of their passing. When people eulogized Brian, the words they used weren’t the kind that social obligation or courtesy often require. Lots of people become posthumous heroes. Brian was one for the two years of his fight, and was an inspiration to many within wrestling for all the years her worked within the business long before that.

NWS Remembers legendary Luna Vachon

A Short Piece On The Late Luna Vachon
From NWS Management

Many have already written about the passing of one of pro wrestling’s more entertaining and bizarre characters in Luna Vachon. National Wrestling Superstars would like to add their two cents’ worth at this point, and we need not dwell on the apparent negatives that caused her young demise, but rather on the positives, which should be a lesson to all in the industry, especially to the distaff side who, at times, have become somewhat reluctant to do whatever it takes to put a particular show or promotion over.

Both Gino Moore (a.k.a Commissioner Gino), who knew Luna way longer than myself (Johnny Falco) and affectionately called her “Angel” as only her close friends did, will certainly miss her presence. I had a different rapport with Luna as a booker, and I can tell you for a fact that at the shows, Luna was always wiling and able to do whatever it took that particular night to enhance the show’s creativity, something that I have noticed of late that some of the female members of this sport seem to not want to partake in. I can tell you that Luna always worked hard as opposed to some of so-called latter-day female performers not even breaking a sweat at times, yet were always there at the end of the night with their hand out at the pay window. This is not to condemn any of the lovely females, and there is only a small faction that we are bringing this matter to light to, just to open their eyes to what it takes to break out of the local independent show scene and hopefully to the big time at some point.

To the stalker who’s been spending time lately sending me e-mails from new and different e-mail addresses, keep having fun; and a thought: If I’m all thse things you claim, tell me…who’s more pathetic? Me…or you, spending your time sending me crap from new and different real (or spoofed) Hotmail, AOL, Gmail and AIM addresses?
