WSU returned this past Saturday to present two matches for our upcoming “On The Road: Fall 2009″ DVD at NWS’s 11/14 event in Basking Ridge, NJ. WSU brought two championship matches to the table, and at the end of the night, both champions were able to retain their titles.

In the first WSU bout of the evening, WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage made her first title defense as champion. The match was no walk in the park, as Savage was forced to defend against her former WSU Tag Team Champion partner, the former 2-time WSU World Champion, Alicia.

After turning on Alicia on 10/3 in what was a despicable display, in an event that saw Savage attempt to “American History X” curbstomp Alicia with a steel chair, Savage has turned into a new person. Shedding her former “Brooke Carter” persona, Savage has gone under her real name and has taken up a violent mean streak. WSU management and WSU fans have realized that ever since Savage took several falls in her tag matches with Alicia, Savage has shown a bit of jealousy to her former tag partner. That jealously led to a blind rage, when Savage ditched Alicia and tried to end her comeback.
Not wanting to wait, Alicia asked for a match with Savage right away, before Savage won the WSU Spirit Championship on 10/10. WSU officials hurried to put this match together in the interest of our fans. After waiting for nearly a month, Alicia got her first crack at Savage on 11/14.

In a match that started off fast in the ring, the wrestling was quickly thrown out of the window, as Alicia charged Savage with all her might and smashed Savage to the floor with a running body blow. Savage went flying to the floor like a rag doll. Savage was quick to hold her knee and it appeared Savage was injured. NWS officials and referees went to check on Savage. Alicia, not sure to trust Savage, initially looked skeptical, but the skepticism turned into legit concern when Savage came up limping.

Alicia, not wanting to win the championship because of an in jury, helped Savage with the NWS officials and started to bring Savage to the back for medical attention. However, before they could get to the curtain, Savage quickly snapped and used Alicia’s concern against her, tossing Alicia into the concrete floor. Savage then jumped up and started dancing like a rockette, spitting into the faces of the concerned fans.

Savage continued her assault on the former 2-time WSU champion. Alicia, competing in her first singles match since her comeback in June, did not have the conditioning that the champion had. Savage quickly stomped away at Alicia and made sure Alicia had no time to breathe.

However, Savage’s dominance would be short-lived, as Alicia fought valiantly back, like the true champion she is. As Alicia was setting up Savage for her finisher, Savage quickly bailed out and grabbed her WSU Spirit Championship. Alicia was confused as Savage started heading to the back. The referee started to count Savage out and would not Alicia pursue chase.

Savage started counting along with the referee and it looked like Savage’s “Plan B” to retain the WSU Spirit Championship for the night would work. As the ref counted to 10, Savage had a grin in her face. She outsmarted Alicia and WSU fans and kept her championship for another night, as WSU Championships can not change hands on count-outs or disqualifications.

Alicia was beyond furious with the decision and Savage’s unwillingness to give Alicia a real match. Alicia won the match by count-out, but Savage won the mind-game battle.

With the fans booing Savage for her cowardly actions, NWS commissioner Gino Moore, making it known that he has jurisdiction of WSU matches on NWS events said this match was a farce. Gino ruled that Savage may have kept her championship tonight, but it might not be for long, as Gino booked an immediate rematch between Savage & Alicia for next week in Ridgefield Park, NJ. As a result of Gino’s ruling, a new match was made for 11/21 at the Ridgefield Park Knights of Col umbus, located at 106 Bergen Ave. in Ridgefield Park, NJ. That match is:

For the WSU Spirit Championship
In a No-Count Out Match
* If Savage Loses by Count Out, the Championship will Change Hands!
(c) WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage vs Alicia

Savage was enraged when hearing Gino’s announcement and Alicia had a smile from ear to ear. This war between former partners is just starting to begin and if 11/14 is any indication, expect a wild and crazy fight between these former tag team champions.
—

In the other match of the evening, perhaps the best womens wrestler in all of the world today, WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez turned back another difficult challenge, as she defeated former TNA Knockout Champion Angelina Love.

Angelina Love, who many regarded as one of the best women wrestlers on the national stage before her TNA release, came to this match more beautiful and more determined than ever before. Love quickly showed no respect for the champ or the fans in the crowd and Martinez wanted to prove to the world that she will take on all challengers.

In an excellent near 15 minute bout, Martinez was able to put away Love after her patented fisherman suplex driver/brainbuster. Martinez, who is battling several nagging injuries, told WSUWrestling.com after the match that “Love was a tough opponent tonight. She deserves to be on anyone’s TV, but when you’re in the WSU ring with me, you’re in the ring with the very best. I don’t care that I need surgery right now. All that matters to me is the WSU World Championship. I have more on my plate than ever before with the WSU Tag Team Championships with Angel Orsini, but you have my word I will never lose my focus as WSU World Champion. I will be my very best on 12/12 when I finally get my hands on Rain. Rain better bring hers, because if Rain didn’t put me away on 10/3, she sure as hell won’t put me down now. I will never forget what you did to me Rain and when I see you on 12/12, all I will be thinking about is ho w you tried ending my career on 10/3. If you’re lucky, you’ll still have your career after 12/12.”

===

WSU will return with another full blown event on 12/12. Here is the details on that event:

Where you have seen him: AWA, Full Impact Pro, Pro Wrestling Riot, Pro Wrestling Fusion, Ring of Honor, UXW, SCW Florida, NWA Florida (defunct), Divison 1 Pro Wrestling, Vintage Wrestling, I Believe in Wrestling, CHIKARA, IWA-Puerto Rico, Revolution Xtreme Wrestling (Panama), USCW, New Breed Pro Wrestling,

Alan Wojcik: It’s been a while since I have been able to get interview time with you so thanks for taking time out of your super busy schedule.
?
Sean Davis: Well it’s all your pleasure Alan. I want to first of all congratulate you on finding a woman willing to reproduce with you. I have had the pleasure of laying my seed across many a nation and it is a fulfilling experience that I am glad even a mutant such as yourself has been able to experience.

Alan Wojcik: I expected stuff like this but I shall remain professional. One of the things that has kept you busy is Heartbreak Enterprises which you and your brother Phil operate. Let’s begin with what led you to set HBE up?
?
Sean Davis: For most of the past decade Phil and myself have traveled all over this and many other countries destroying countless numbers of tag teams proving to ourselves and anyone that matters that we are THE standard bearers of tag team wrestling in the world today. Now I am not saying that our days as a tag team are anywhere near coming to an end but I believe in diversifying and planning for the future as we all know that no one can wrestle forever at the level we have competed. As your athletic abilities begin to decline with age you either have to step down to lower levels of competition and begin to be happy wrestling in flea markets and used car lots again as when you first break into wrestling or you have to find other ways to stay on the very top of the wrestling business and that is what I have begun to do as a I have started to spread my enormous talent into other areas. First I have become one of the leading broadcast journalists in all of wrestling. In the role of color commentator I have used my advanced intelect to provide never before imagined insight into the sport of professional wrestling for top promotions such as Pro Wrestling RIOT and even FIP. I have heard from countless fans and experts that the level of entertainment has been increased greatly any time I have been allowed behind the microphone as that Lenny Leonard character while passable at what he does can’t ever give that extra insight that only someone with my years of in ring experience could give. The other path I have started on is by taking my 13 years of in ring wrestling knowledge and passing that on to some of the best up and coming talents in all of wrestling as their business manager, coach and all around leader which is the role I fill so well as the CEO of Heartbreak Enterprises, INC. We have quickly become the most powerful and influential force in the South’s top wrestling promotion FIP. The entire promotion literally revolves around ME….and Phil of course and all of our wonderful stars who allow me to teach them and dictate what they do in the ring which is what has made us so damn successful. I am truly the KING of FIP. Hmmmm, maybe I should start wearing a crown to ringside.

Alan Wojcik: One of your clients is a former Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup competitor, let’s talk about “Addicted to Love” Rhett Titus.
?
Sean Davis: Ahhhh, my tasty treat Rhett Titus. He has been SUCH a pleasure to have around in so many ways. First of all this kid has so much talent it is hard to imagine him not becoming one of the top ten stars ever in the wrestling business. I am SO proud of him and all he has accomplished for ME. Wow, he must really appreciate me as I led him to being the greatest Florida Heritage Champion of all time. I used my knowledge to control him like I was playing a video game as he did everything I told him to do so that he could bring that gold belt back to my mansion where it was so prominitely displayed in my trophy case. Of course Rhett has been handsomely rewarded for how well he has done for me. You see Rhett has an ENORMOUS…….appetite for the finer things in life so I have spared no expense when it comes to giving him all of the luxuries that only I could provide him. The finest wines, the most expensive restaurants and the sexiest and most willing women you have ever seen. When he told me he was in the mood for something a little aged but with lots of great experience in the bedroom I brought to him a very special gift in the legendary Baby Doll. Let’s just say she worked him out in ways Rhett never thought were possible until he eventually had no more use for her so we sent her packing back to North Carolina. Just think Tully Blanchard, Gino Hernandez and Ric Flair all in their primes couldn’t last with Baby Doll but my boy Rhett literally took her to the limit. Since then I replaced her with the world famous actress and model Amy Vitale who is currently giving all she has for the cause of keeping Rhett a happy boy.

Alan Wojcik: At an event earlier this year a $25,000 bounty you had placed on then FIP World champion Tyler Black was claimed, by current HBE and 2009 JPC competitor Davey Richards. Was this something that was planned all along or were you in shock when Richards came out to ringside?

Sean Davis: I guess you haven’t really been listening to what I have been saying and that is that NOTHING happens in FIP and especially when it comes to Heartbreak Enterprises, INC. that I am not in full control of. Bottom line Tyler Black was a huge thorn in my side and I had to do something serious to eliminate him so I enlisted the most dangerous man in wrestling today, the one and only Davey Richards. To not only take out Tyler Black for good but to be the center piece of Heartbreak Enterprises, INC. He truly did his job in a magnifcent way earning every cent of that $25,000 bounty and earning his place as the pride and joy of my most prestegious organization.

Alan Wojcik: HBE has had a relationship of sorts with the newly crowned FIP World Tag Team champions the British Lions (Christopher Grey & Tommy Taylor). What is the current status of the relationship and what do you think of the duo?
?
Sean Davis: Relationship??? The British Lions are signed members of Heartbreak Enterprises, INC. You see Christopher Grey is not just one of the most talented men in the sport but also one of the smartest. He knew that if they signed a contract with me that is would only be a short matter of time before they would eb the FIP World Tag Team Champions and alas the inevitable has come to pass! As for Tommy Taylor…well he is tough and rugged and…well…thank God for him he has such an intelligent tag team partner that can make all of the right decisions for him. All he has to do is what Chris and I tell him to do which I know he is happy with as thinking is not his strong point.

Alan Wojcik: On May 2nd Mr. Richards was awarded the FIP World Heavyweight championship due to injuries to Tyler Black inflicted by your group over several months and the same evening he defeated Kenny King. You claimed it was always his championship and when I asked Mr. Richards about it he called me a racist. Shouldn’t he have defeated Black in the ring like all championship decisions?
?
Sean Davis: Kenny King called you a racist?? Well that doesn’t surprise me I mean as he did vote for Obama and has been known to hang out with the Rev Sharpton type of crowd. As for Davey Richards winning the FIP title. As far as I’m concerned he won that belt when he put Tyler Black out of wrestling at the Battle of the Belts event and obviously the FIP Board of Directors felt the same way. Then just to prove that he is a true fighting champion he beat up poor Kenny King in the middle of the ring, fair and square to show everyone in FIP that he is the undisputed FIP World Heavyweight Champion.

Alan Wojcik: Sad to say but on October 3rd Rhett lost the FIP Heritage championship to 2009 Peterson Cup competitor Brad Attitude. During that evening Florida wrestling legend “Outlaw” Ron Bass figured in that decision. Let’s break this down into a couple of questions. First your feelings on Rhett losing the championship.
?
Sean Davis: Rhett Titus was RIPPED OFF!!! As far as I’m concerned he is still the Florida Heritage Champion and Brad Attitude is nothing but a pretender, a false hero and a complete wannabe!!! He would have never been able to get out of Crystal River with Rhett’s title belt without help from that twisted old man “Outlaw” Ron Bass!! I mean his name says it all..he’s a damn outlaw and he’s proud of that!!! Ron Bass didn’t like that fact that I pointed out that fact that he is a HAS BEEN and he was wasting my precious time by running on at the mouth about the “good ole days” back in the 1940’s and 50’s when he was a big star in wrestling. No one cares about him. They only care about what’s happening now and that’s Heartbreak Enterprises, INC.

Alan Wojcik: Next we need to address “Outlaw” Ron Bass who factored into the match. After things settled you and the HBE laid him and Attitude out. Somewhere in this fracas he challenged you to a match….did you have any clue on November 21st you would be part of Texas Bullrope Match!?!??!
?
Sean Davis: It is very clear to me that this old dude obviously has some sort of dementia and he was having flashbacks to when he was feuding with the Dirty Yellow Dog. I mean he had NO idea what he was doing when he challenged ME to not just a normal wrestling match but to a Bullrope Match on November 21 in Crystal River at the Peterson Cup 2009. Bottom line is I must be at least fifty years younger than this guy. He might have been tough back in the day and I am sure that if a game of Bingo on Friday night gets out of control that you might have to watch out for him hitting you with his walker but this is 2009 and I am one of the toughest guys in the sport. Hey I am the guy who made matches like Cage of Pain 1 and 2 famous so do you really think I am worried about this old man?? I hear he is taking this real serious and he is driving his lark to the gym every day and is really working up a sweat getting ready for this match and I think that’s kind of cute to be honest. I am ALMOST gonna feel bad when I bust his old head open with that rusty metal cow bell and I make him bleed all over the Crystal River Armory. Then as he takes his last breath in the middle of the ring he won’t be saying his “I Love You’s” to family members but will be saying “You were right Sean Davis…I should have bowed at your feet and proclaimed you the King of FIP like I know you are…it is my honor to now die at your feet knowing I was beat by a much better man”. HEHEHEHEHE that is gonna be so much fun!!!!

Alan Wojcik: Seemingly every high profile match I watched online with you and Phil saw you bleeding. Do you ever have your family and friends say, “Sean you need to stop doing this before it kills you?”
?
Sean Davis: Alan you would know nothing about being an athlete and a warrior like Phil and I are. Blood, Sweat and Tears baby!!! That’s just part of being a professional wrestler. We’re not covered head to toe in thick pads like football players and hockey players are. We don’t have our matches stopped due to a little cut like in boxing or MMA. Pro Wrestling is a sport for REAL men which is why YOU would never survive!

Alan Wojcik: I couldn’t end this without bringing up a 2008 trip you, Phil & protege’ Nick Fame made to Panama where you were almost arrested for stomping on the Panamian flag. Do you regret the incident and were you ever afraid for your personal safety?
?
Sean Davis: HELL YEAH we were afraid! Of course when you have an entire country wanting to kill you and the president of the country gets on national television promising your punishment it is a little frightening but that’s just part of being who we are. When you are in The Heartbreak Express you learn to live with a little fear at all times as you know there are so many people around the world that are jealous over our success in wrestling, in finance and with their wives and girlfriends. I mean do you know how many little kids are running around the world right now dressing in pink and purple and telling their friends “You’re Just Jealous” all the while these suckers that think they are the dads are wonderng how their kids ended up with Platinum Blonde Hair..HAH!! I guess that’s just gonna stay a secret between The HBX and their women!!!

In May 2003 IPW Hardcore promoters created the JEFF PETERSON MEMORIAL CUP in tribute to the fallen cruiserweight star who passed in 2001 after a long battle with cancer. Since then the event has garnered a list of international stars who supported the event and honored Jeff’s memory by putting on five star caliber bouts. The previous winners were “Reckless Youth” Tom Carter, Justice, Chris Sabin, Milano Collection AT, Chris Hero & Erick Stevens. On November 20-21 sixteen men will come to Brooksville & Crystal River, Florida to try and join those names. Could this year’s winner be:

Louis Lyndon
Height: 5 Ft 11 In
Weight: 175 Lbs
Hometown: East Lansing, Michigan
Pro Debut: 2007
Website/Myspace/Facebook: www.myspace.com/louiskendrick
Where you have seen him: Hybrid Pro, Dragon’s Gate USA, Insanity Pro, Price of Glory Wrestling, Firestorm Wrestling, AIW, AAW, Rapid Pro Wrestling, Pure Pro Wrestling, Championship Wrestling Experience, Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling, JAPW, NWA Indiana, GALLI Lucha Libre, Mr. Chainsaw Pro Wrestling, Championship Wrestling of Michigan.

Alan Wojcik: What were your initial thoughts on being named to Team Hybrid for the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup?
?
Louis Lyndon: Excitement! I was quite surprised. The fact that there is a Team Hybrid for the Peterson Cup in itself was very surprising when I first heard. Never thought a couple years ago that Hybrid promotion would make it this far. The chance to represent the Hybrid promotion in Florida is chance of a lifetime.

Alan Wojcik: Doing research showed you work as both Louis Lyndon and Bryan Lyndon. Is this true and why the two different names?
?
Louis Lyndon: I started off as Brian/Bryan Lyndon basically for a couple promotions including Hybrid and AIW. After furthering my training at Price of Glory Wrestling in MI, my trainer, Josh Raymond, decided I should do something different and use my real first name. I started taking on that name in December 2007. I use Louis Lyndon everywhere minus Hybrid to this day.

Alan Wojcik: On your Myspace you have a photo of someone named Clive Myers. Who is he and what does he mean to you?
?
Louis Lyndon: Clive Myers! He was a 70’s-80’s British wrestler from the World of Sport era, during the times of your Johnny Saints, Steve Greys, and Mark Roccos. He was a kung-fu influenced wrestler like myself. I watch and study his wrestling all the time. He definitely inspires me when I go out and wrestle every single match.

Alan Wojcik: Before asking you about a specific match in the promotion, you’re representing Hybrid Pro Wrestling. Tell us something about the promotion that makes it different than other Midwest based promotions.
?
Louis Lyndon: Hybrid Wrestling is a unique animal, at least compared to many other Midwest promotions. It is very athletic based company, always pushing limits of the human body. From the wrestlers to fans hitting metal sheets on guardrails it has a little different feel. It kinda goes away from old school wrestling of 80’s and kinda embraces the high impact style, high flying style of Michinoku Pro or Dragon Gate I would say.

Alan Wojcik: On December 16, 2008 you wrestled in what is talked about in wrestling as a five star ladder match against Marion Fontaine,Dave Cole & Christian Faith. Talk about the match and its place in Hybrid’s history.
?
Louis Lyndon: This match was really painful. I got beat up like I had never had been before or even sense. The match itself introduced a unique idea where each person had their own colored ladder and thus was only be able to retrieve the title by climbing that ladder. This lead to people trying to break other people’s ladders in the match. My ladder actually was broken and I had to put my ladder on top of another person’s ladder near the end of the match. Kinda worked for a second, heh. Even though I lost, it was an honor to have a change to be the first Hybrid Champion and also to be apart of the company’s biggest match to date.

Alan Wojcik: Like Chris Jones, Johnny Gargano, Arik Cannon & Flip Kendrick you have worked for Dragons Gate USA and competed in their FRAY match. Talk about working for the promotion and for people at the JPC who will see FRAY!, explain the concept of the match.
?
Louis Lyndon: FRAY! is one of craziest match ideas. It basically involves 8 men with two competitors started off. Every 3 minutes someone new enters randomly. The standard match rules apply with no countouts with the final survivor winning. You can’t prepare properly for a match like this. I myself had very little if any luck in the two I competed in. Working DGUSA was like a dream. I never thought I would get a chance to work for company like it. It was one of the greatest experiences of my wrestling career. Hopefully, down the road I will have another chance to work for them.

Alan Wojcik: If things go your way you might be coming to Florida the Insanity Pro Jr. Heavywight champion. Hybrid Pro teammates Flip Kendrick & Marion Fontaine are also in the tournament (Louis faces Billy Roc in round one, www.insanityprowrestling.com). Scout out them & Dave Cole for fans who have never seen them.
?
Louis Lyndon: I am really planning on it. I have been in dojo double-time preparing for the tournament. Yes, Flip and Fontaine are both in the tournament as well. Flip, my brother, is always a tough competitor in few times we have fought each other. You have no idea where his flips are going to come from. He has come along over way over the last year. Fontaine and I have had few matches with him getting the better 2 out of 3. You kinda underestimate Fontaine when you see him at first glance. You quickly, find out he is one crafty wrestler out there. Dave Cole is one of toughest guys I have ever fought. He is all around wrestler. Doesn’t seem to have a weakness.

Alan Wojcik: Of the other fifteen competitors is there someone you are looking forward to possibly facing and someone you consider a possible roadblock to the trophy?
?
Louis Lyndon: Everyone is a roadblock. Any single person in this tournament could win it. I know nothing will be easy. I am just going to bring my 70’s Kung Fu and give it everything I got!

Flip Kendrick
Height: 5Ft 8 In
Weight:170 Lbs
Hometown: Mt .Clemens, Michigan, Resdies: Lansing, Michigan
Website/Myspace/Facebook/Youtube: www.myspace.com/dkendrick, http://www.youtube.com/user/flipkendrick
Pro Debut: 2006
Tournament history: HYBRID Title Tournament (Lost in the second round of Blonde Bracket)
Where you have seen him: Hybrid Wrestling, Dragons Gate USA, JAPW, Absolute Intense Wrestling, Insanity Pro Wrestling, Championship Wrestling Experience, HWA Wrestling, Mega Championship Wrestling, Cleveland All Pro Wrestling, Rapid Pro Wrestling, Epic Wrestling, Price of Glory Wrestling, Mr. Chainsaw, MCWA Wrestling, AAW Wrestling, Galli Lucha Libre, WASP Wrestling, Far North Wrestling, and IWA East Coast.
Championships held: JAPW Light Heavyweight champion.

Alan Wojcik: What were your initial thoughts when your were announced as part of Team Hybird for the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup and what did you know of the event’s history?
?
Flip Kendrick: It’s hard to believe that HYBRID has made it this far as a company. Who would have thought that in 2006 (it’s debut) that it would be regarded as a rising company and would be included in a tournament with the such well know wrestling promotions as CZW, AAW and FIP. I was proud to find out that out of all the HYBRID wrestlers that I would be chosen to represent HYBRID. As far the events histroy, I’m going to be honest I’ve heard of the tournament before and I understood that FIP ran it. But I’ve never actually seen any tournament matches from previous tournaments.

Alan Wojcik: How does a Michigan St grad with a major in telecommunications, media & info studies end up becoming a professional wrestler? Why MSU and not Michigan (JPC supporter Ron Niemi is a mega-huge Michigan supporter) was is their degree programs or were you always a Spartan supporter?
?
Flip Kendrick: Not sure how I became a professional wrestler. I think it was just a natural progression. At least while I was school it was just a cool hobby to tell people about. At that time, I was wrestling at 2 promotions maybe once a month or once every other month due to school. So nothing serious at all. When I graduated December 2008 and I was contacted about JAPW for the BOTLH, my career basically took off. Started doing more shows and working on basics. But yeah if you have ever seen my YouTube page I have a lot music videos that I edited, and I believe that my Teaser video and best of video (Death of Me) have contributed to the attention I’ve been getting. I basically chose MSU because my brother Louis had already been attending and it’s a lot easier to get in. If I were to choose some school related to my degree I wouldn’t have chosen either.

Alan Wojcik: On your Myspace page there are videos of you doing some amazing gymnastic moves. How long has gymnastics been in your life and how much does it influence your wrestling style, is there a Lucha influence as well?
?
Flip Kendrick: I did gymnastics for 4 years in high school. Basically self trained from there. Picked up martial arts tricking (which is martial arts with gymnastics influence) and met a couple people involved in that. My wrestling style is very acrobatic. I’d say my flipping background is a direct correlation to my wrestling style since flipping came first in my life. I find that lucha libre is the best style to incorporate my gymnastics and tricking.

Alan Wojcik: You were part of a FRAY! match on the 2nd Dragons Gate event. Tell the fans what that match is like and how did you come to work for this fast rising promotion?
?
Flip Kendrick: The match was quite an experience, very nerve wrecking. After my injury, I had about 2 matches before this match so I was definitely not at 100%. I don’t want to go into too many details but I was contacted about doing the first Fray and wasn’t able to make it so they were able to fit me into the second one.

Alan Wojcik: On an recent CWE event you and Louis Lyndon teamed to face Sexual Harassment and also faced him in IPW. Talk about him as a partner and opponent.
?
Flip Kendrick: Ahh, Louis Lyndon, we have a lot a history since we are brothers. He basically pushed me to get involved in wrestling. But as far a being a tag partner, it is very fitting since our styles are both almost identical minus my flips. As an opponent he is a tough competitor.

Alan Wojcik: If things go your way you might be coming to Florida the Insanity Pro Jr. Heavywight champion. Hybrid Pro teammate Marion Fontaine is also in the tournament (www.insanityprowrestling.com). Scout out him & Dave Cole for fans who have never seen them.
?
Flip Kendrick: I could become the Insanity Pro Jr. Heavyweight champion, that would be quite an accomplishment. Marion Fontaine and Dave Cole are both very talented. I’ve known them both for a quite a few years now and know what they are both capable of. Although they may not work for a lot of promotions they will definitely impress the fans JPC 2009.

Alan Wojcik: Checking out the IWA East Coast site sees you listed being part of a 2009 Zero-G Crown Scaffold match taking on Shimma Xion, Michael Facade & Zac Vincent. What are you thinking about when you hear the name of that match?
?
Flip Kendrick: When I think of this match I think insanity and injuries.

Alan Wojcik: Looking over the other 15 competitors do you see anyone as a road block from you winning the tournament and why?
?
Flip Kendrick: Basically everyone is a road block, seeing as how I’m probably the guy with the least matches and experience under my belt.

Dragon Gate USA will invade Phoenix, AZ for a double shot on WrestleMania weekend. The DGUSA events will be “Open The Ultimate Gate” on Friday, March 26th and “Mercury Rising” on Saturday, March 27th. Belltime for both cards is 8pm. DGUSA is pulling out all the stops for this weekend to show you how much we respect you. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, November 12th, at 10am Eastern in the www.DGUSA.tv Store.

The first sign of respect is that DGUSA will hold these events in the beautiful Celebrity Theater, located just a few minutes from the airport. This is a first class facility with free parking, air conditioning, a full bar as well as high quality lighting and sound. The best feature is the stadium style seating. If you look at the seating map in the DGUSA.tv Live Events section you will see the layout of this venue, reminiscent of the famous Dallas Sportatorium. This will create an incredible and unique live atmosphere. The stadium seating puts the first few rows practically in the ring. You will never get any closer than this. The Celebrity Theater has housed major musical acts as well as pro wrestling. In fact, check out this photo gallery of WWE’s ECW at The Celebrity Theater: http://www.celebritytheatre.com/gallery.php?group=50

DGUSA is going to load up these shows with an all-star talent roster from across the world. Already confirmed are Davey Richards and The Young Bucks of Nick & Matt Jackson. From 2006-2008 the Wrestlemania weekend shows were known for the Dragon Gate six man tag. Now the tradition is back as there will be six man competition with the top Dragon Gate stars on each night. These shows will have it all from mind-blowing tag action to title contests to dream bouts to grudge matches. Keep checking DGUSA.tv for a series of major announcements.

“It was a privilege to be able to book shows on Wrestlemania weekend from 2006 to 2008,” DGUSA VP Gabe Sapolsky said. “The supercard name was used for those shows because I wanted the shows to have that same feeling of the really big events I saw growing up in the 80s. I feel that we accomplished that from 2006 to 2008. It was my way of showing respect to the fans that traveled in from all over the world. Now, I am privileged to get that chance again, with Dragon Gate USA’s Wrestlemania weekend, and we’re going to make sure it’s the best supercards ever presented.”

WWE.com has stated that the Hall Of Fame will be at 4pm. This means it will end in plenty of time to get some dinner and go to the Celebrity Theater for the DGUSA event at 8pm. The Celebrity Theater is just minutes from the Hall Of Fame ceremony. DGUSA is the only game in town on Saturday night and will present a huge pay-per-view taping.

Tickets for both these events will go on sale Thursday, November 12th in the www.DGUSA.tv Store at 10am Eastern time. DGUSA is the premium pro wrestling product based on respect and appreciation for our patrons. This is OUR wrestling haven. These ticket packages reflect those facts. Please note that the rows are closer than the normal pro wrestling set-up due to the intimate stadium seating. Please refer to the seating map in the DGUSA.tv Live Events section for more information. Here is what you get with each ticket package:

“The Anarchist” Arik Cannon
Championships held: Current AAW Heritage champion, 3XW Cruiserweight champion, IWA-MS World Heavyweight (2 times), MPW Cruiserweight (3 times), MPW Universal, NIW Impact, PWO Cruiserweight, NOW champion

Alan Wojcik: In 2006 we spoke about your feelings on being in the tournament. Were you surprised to be coming back this year and could you share you memories of the ‘06 event.

Arik Cannon: The 2006 tournament was a great time. Even though I was eliminated by the eventual winner; Milano Collection A.T., I still enjoyed my time at the ‘06 JPC. It was two nights of great wrestling action, for an even greater cause. It was a pleasure being asked to be a part of it. Now, here we are a few years later and it’s that time again… I’ll be honest, I’m pleased to be involved again, but this time… I am looking for a different outcome! I’ve stepped up my game, and this time around I don’t intend to be a stepping stone for my opponent.

Alan J. Wojcik: What led you to become a pro wrestler and be trained by Chris Hero?

Arik Cannon: A lot of people make the mistake of thinking I started w/ Chris Hero which is not the case. I grew up in a small town, and to prove just how small the world really is, Nora “Molly Holly” Greenwald, was/is from the same town. I was friends with her younger brothers, and wound up asking her for some advice on how to get into the business. I wound up training at the MPW Training Camp in Minnesota. As for how I wound up training with Hero, I met Dave Prazak here in MN and gave him a tape. I also sent one to Hero, as IWA had a try-out show, so to speak, coming up, and I wanted to get on it. I got the opportunity to work for IWA, and have been learning from Chris since.

Alan J. Wojcik: What led you to call yourself “the Anarchist” and for fans that have never seen you work, describe you ring style.

Arik Cannon: I’ve always kind of played by my own rules. Sure, I’ll hear what you have to say, and listen to what you think is right, or how things should go, but when it comes down to it, I’m going to do it my way, with my rules. How I want, when I want. My ring style… good question. I think my strengths are mat/technical wrestling, and my strikes. A technician with Japanese influences, and a splash of Lucha Libre training.

Alan Wojcik: You’ve been a busy person since we spoke in 2006. One of the biggest changes in the closing of a former home, IWA Mid South. Some other JPC competitors shared their thoughts on the promotion. Could you share some please.
?
Arik Cannon: Ian Rotten and IWA Mid-South definitely played a big part in helping me grow as a wrestler, but also to spread the word about “The Anarchist” Arik Cannon. I was put in the ring with some great talents over the years at IWA M-S. I appreciate what Ian/IWA M-S did for me during that time. I felt my time at IWA Mid-South had run it’s course, and I sat down with Ian and told him I would be looking for work elsewhere and thanked him for what he had done for me. As for IWA Mid-South closing… Alan, you liar. :)

Alan Wojcik: In November 2006 you worked for the very short lived MTV/Big Vision Entertainment “Wrestling Society X.” What were your thoughts when you were asked to be part of a 30 minute heavily edited wrestling show?
?
Arik Cannon: I was excited. It was a big opportunity, and a chance to be seen on an international level. The talent they brought in for WSX had potential by the bunches… It’s too bad it didn’t work out. It was heavily edited, and maybe a bit over the top, but it was still fun. In the end, I think MTV is to blame for WSX’s downfall. They didn’t put anything behind the program. Unless I called you, to tell you it was on, you likely would’ve never known. That, and the chicks on The Hills are way hotter than I am. MTV threw a bunch of money at WSX and then let it die, I was more than happy to accept to take my cut.

Alan Wojcik: In 2007 you founded the F1RST promotion. What was the brain child of the promotion and how did you feel things are going in year two?
?
Arik Cannon: At the time, the local wrestling scene here in Minnesota had grown very stale and there weren’t many promotions running in general. Those few promotions that were running in the area, were fairly lazy about it. They did little to no promoting. No advertising. Nothing beyond the internet. I believe there is a market for wrestling here, and with a little hard work those people could be reached! To date, F1RST Wrestling has run a total of 19 shows. All in all, I’d consider those 19 shows, a success. While the idea and the concept was mine… F1RST Wrestling isn’t a 1 man ship. We are a team. We succeed and fail together.
Alan Wojcik: Also in 2007 you worked abroad for Dragons Gate. Talk about the Japanese experience.
?
Arik Cannon: Working for Dragon Gate in Japan, as cliche’ as it sounds, was a dream come true. I was like a kid in a toy store. I’ve been watching Toryumon/Dragon Gate for years… It was rather surreal to find myself across the ring from my opponents each night. Those 6 weeks were far and away, the best 6 weeks of my wrestling life to date. Each night I was in the ring with some of the best in the world.

Alan Wojcik: This year you are part of Team AAW with Shane Hollister, Silas Young & Johnny Gargano. For those not doing You Tube searches, give a scouting report on the three men.
?
Arik Cannon: I’m not exactly sure why AAW felt the need to send these guys… But, either way I’m not about to waste my interview time talking about these chumps!

Alan Wojcik: Doing research for this interview brought up matches against some of the other 15 people in the tournament. Is there someone you think could be the one person that can stop you from winning it all?
?
Arik Cannon: In a tournament like this… I’m not sure you have to worry about that “one” person. There is always the unknown, that is a concern all on it’s own. But of those I do know, the guys I am familiar with my main concern is seeing Drake Younger or Davey Richards across the ring from me. Drake, who is notorious for torturing himself to defeat his opponents isn’t exactly something or somebody I am eager to punch in the face. As for Davey Richards on the other hand… He’s notorious for torturing his opponents to get the job done. Davey can come at you from all angles. There is a reason he’s one of the best in the world at what he does. Certainly someone you don’t want to find yourself up against in a tournament setting. Even if you manage to get by him, or Drake, what will they have done to you in the process?
