AS I SEE IT
Bob Magee
Pro Wrestling:
Between the Sheets
PWBTS.com
As most of you know, PWBTS, the flagship site of this column, features lots of coverage of independent wrestling. As someone who happily shills independent wrestling promotions whenever possible, one of the things that’s the most maddening to me is the way independent promotions seems to have no sense about the basic sorts of things that they need to do to promote their product.

WXW C-4’s annual return to Sportsfest happened on July 19th for an over four hour extravaganza! By now you’ve no doubt read all the publicity about the history of the event, so let’s get right down to the recap of the action:
Commissioner Maven Bentley was on hand to open the event and introduce WXW C-4’s first second-generation diva: Miss Risza, the daughter of the late WWF wrestler Steve King, a good friend of the Samoan family. Shawn Credle handled commentary duties for the broadcast. Your cameramen were Ethan Cramer and Eric Shaffer, and your timekeeper in attendance was Joel Oreski. Special thanks also to event sponsors Commix Hotel and Valley Welding.

New England Championship Wrestling returned to the National Guard Armory in Quincy, MA this past Saturday night, July 11 in fornt of another great crowd for RED WHITE & BRUISED.
Before the opening contest, “The Talent” TJ Richter and Mr. Munroe entered the ring for their $5000 body slam challenge. They picked a young man named “Vinny” to attempt to slam the man they claim, “no one can slam”. Vinny gave two attempts before saying that he could not do it. The audience gave him a round of applause for a good attempt anyhow. That led into the opening contest of “T he Talent” TJ Richter versus Nick Westgate. Richter was able to counter a victory roll to secure the win over Westgate. After Richter taunted his opponent after the match, Westgate hit “The Honor Roll” on Richter and left to a great ovation.

Nash Unhappy with Results IWS Xth Anniversary
Montreal 05/30
It seems like Kevin Nash is the only man unhappy after the crowded party at the Medley last night for the International Wrestling Syndicate’s Tenth Anniversary. Nash was all smiles backstage after tapping out to Pierre-Carl Ouellet’s arm-bar, congratulating PCO on the win and the crowd’s positive reaction to PCO. The smile never quite reached his eyes however. Once clear of PCO. PCO’s ex-tag team partner Brick Crawford and a crowd of PCO’s friends from his gym, the mask slipped. Nash’s IWS Chauffeur back to the airport, Joseph Fitzmorris, reported to me that Nash spent most of the drive snarling that no one was supposed to touch his arm (still tender from a recent staph infection.)

IWC SUPER INDY VIII: A Moment Seven Years In The Making Tarnished with Politics
by Joe Dombrowski, iwcmc_dombrowski@yahoo.com
The most unpredictable and perhaps emotional Super Indy tournament of all time took place May 15 & 16 from two important locations: The Court Time Sports Center in Elizabeth, Pa (site of Super Indy V & VII) and the White Oak Athletic Association (site of Super Indy II). It was the largest and most competitive field in history, and unfortunately would become the most mired in controversy.
