Dreamer talked about coming to this building when he was a kid to watch WWE with his best friend and father. Dreamer talked about watching a Piper’s Pit. Dreamer thanked everyone from the original ECW to the new ECW. Dreamer said this was his dream since he was nine years old, and it proves that if you have passion you can make it anywhere! Dreamer said he made it in ECW and he made it in the WWE. Dreamer said there were so many people in WWE that he was going to miss (but didn’t name any). Dreamer started to cry and said “this is so hard.” Dreamer said everybody knows what those three letters (ECW) mean to him. Dreamer said they are supposed to refer to the fans as the WWE Universe, but he has always considered them his family. Dreamer talked about his daughters, and they showed his wife (Beulah) and their two daughters sitting in the front row. Dreamer said life is hard, but you gotta keep fighting because that’s what life is all about. Dreamer said he will miss everyone, and “I love you all, so much!” A couple guys tried to start an ECW chant but it didn’t really catch on. Dreamer took off his ECW shirt and laid it down in the middle of the ring. Dreamer left the ring and picked up his two daughters, and kissed his wife. Dreamer took his two little daughters up to the stage so they could see the crowd cheering for their daddy. Beautiful.
  • Mike Aldren wrote (January 1, 2009) Tommy Dreamer requested his release which caught a lot of people off guard as he signed a new multi-year contract this past June. The deal on Tuesday’s episode of ECW was his legit farewell speech. Dreamer, 38, who is married to former ECW valet Beulah McGillicutty, told friends that he wants more family time now his twin daughters are growing up. The assumption is that he is TNA-bound for a less arduous travel schedule. Dreamer was the last of the “ECW Original” wrestlers to have left the company since the initials were revived in 2005. A trivia note is that his daughters played the niece of Tony Soprano in the sixth season of The Sopranos
