One change of nationality and deletion of Jamaican accent seems to be the best thing that could've happened to Kofi. He's already feuding with a main eventer (Orton for those who didn't know for some reason). It's only a matter of time before some 5-star matches start showing up.

I'm not surprised at all, Kofi is very talented and they didn't need to drop the whole Jaimacan thing because we all knew it was fake. I can see Randy vs. Kofi as a good feud. But after Kofi's actions on Raw this passed week I think someone should start to plan Kofi's funeral now. Why would he pour paint on Orton's car one night after Randy tried to BLOW JOHN CENA UP?! Did he not see it happen and think to himself "Hmm...I might not wanna mess with this guy"?! The way I see it if this feud continues here's what we'll see soon.
R.I.P. Kofi Kingston

I doubt it will be long before he gets shoved back down to the depths. It has happened to just about everyone who has joined WWE since 2004.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of. Remember what happened to John Morrison this summer? People FINALLY started getting behind him, and WWE saw that. They gave him a World Title match against Jeff Hardy (his best so far, only behind Morrison vs. Mysterio) and we thought we just saw a push. A few weeks later, despite it being an awesome match, he's back to midcard with the Intercontinental Championship.
Kofi's had more success than most people who's been in WWE for as long as he has. He's a former United States Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and World Tag Team Champion. Let's just hope, no PRAY, this feud is awesome and doesn't turn into Orton/Cena. |

I'm just curious how long it's gonna last. The dude no doubt deserves a push, but, unfortunatley for him, he ain't a huge dude like Vince likes.

Once he dropped the accent and I read the article about his nationality change, a lot of users wondered what this meant for Kofi's future, but to me it meant that Vince might have bigger things planned for Kingston. He's accomplished quite a bit since coming to RAW, which I think most of will agree is a very rare thing. RAW is notorious for not giving new guys much spotlight, but Kofi has certainly been an exception. A former Intercontinental, United States, and World Tag Team Champion indeed Kofi has accomplished quite a bit. Furthermore, he's over the fans, has a great attitude from what I've read, and stays out of trouble as far as violations go. Kofi's an ideal young talent and one that I'm sure the WWE wishes they had more of. Personally, I think his feud with Randy Orton has a lot of potential to elevate Kofi even higher up the ranks and help him grow as a wrestler overall. Granted, the WWE will have to book it right of course and not drop the ball like they did with Randy Orton / CM Punk. Will this feud make Kofi a main eventer? I highly doubt it, but it could certainly get him even more over and give him some mic and in-ring experience with a seasoned talent like Randy Orton.

I think Kofi should be given a lenghty US Championship run. Give it a little prestige. After that, he should challenge for the WWE Championship. That dudes got superstar written all over him. Hmm... I guess that means he'll be buried by everybody within the next uear. We all know how Raw is.

I am surprised but definitely not disappointed. Especially since they gave him a legitimate feud and a minor character overhaul which I've been wanting for him for awhile. Now like the rest of you I'm just hoping it lasts. He is very entertaining in the role he's in now.

I think this will be great, becasue two great wrestlers are finally being put together again. Hopefully this will go to Wrestlemania, and we'll have a great match with hopefully a storyline. Another great thing about this, is that they're even in a lot of ways, just watch their dropkicks!

Coffee Kingston is awesome. I think he will be a main eventer one day. He already has the charisma, mic skills and wrestling ability. Kingston's team is going to beat Orton's team at Survivor Series.

Kofi Kingston is nothing but the flavour of the month.... He is being used as a filler to pad out the storylines between now and the next big program (around Royal Rumble time).
Just like John Morrison, Kingston is nowhere near ready to be main eventing. He lacks quite a lot in the ring when it comes to selling and linking his offense. It is basically just spot after spot. His character has had a terrible build up to this position and this leaves him looking quite week and as a character goes, he is quite shallow. As for 5 star matches being only a matter of time..... that is quite a strange thing to predict when he hasnt really been pulling off three star matches convincingly. It it too big of a jump for a guy that doesnt have a proven PPV record.... He will be midcard in a couple of months. |

I fully agree with Turley. Kofi just isnt ready yet. Ofcourse he has the potential, and if he keeps going he will be a player in a few more year, but it just isnt in the cards for him ATM. If we all really think about it, we can deduct why he was given this push. Along what Turley said about him being a filler, you also have to consider why Kofi was picked as that filler. For one, he has the charisma to be the person they use. What he lacks in ablities in the ring, he can make up for it, on a short term basis, with his charisma and his ability to connect with the fans. That will get ppl behind just long enough to have a decent fued with Orton before he goes back to mid card status.

Coffee Kingston has got the BOOM BOOM BOOM. That's more than enough to guarantee him a spot as a future main eventer.
