MVD

M.V.D. – Most Valuable Diva” is a weekly column where a WWE Diva or TNA Knockout is named the Most Valuable Diva of the Week based on their overall performance. The divas/knockouts that compete in matches and/or take part in segments automatically get nominated for Most Valuable Diva.

This week’s nominees for M.V.D. are:

The Bella Twins: The Bella Twins were in tag team action on RAW against Divas Champion and the birthday girl Natalya. After ducking out the way of Kaitlyn‘s spear and causing her to spear Natalya, Brie Bella got the win for her and sister Nikki. Adding insult to injury, The Bella Twins decided to sing their own rendition of “Happy Birthday,” which included them calling Natalya a LOSER! The Bella did a great job displaying their bitchy heel characters, but they could have displayed better wrestling skills during the match.

Kaitlyn: Kaitlyn teamed up with Natalya to take on The Bella Twins on RAW. Kaitlyn and Natalya looked as though they were going to win, but after accidentally spearing her own partner, Kaitlyn cost her and Natalya the match. Sorry Kaitlyn, but I don’t think Nattie wanted a spear as one of her birthday presents.

Natalya: In her hometown of Canada, Natalya celebrated her birthday. Going into RAW, Natalya hoped that her birthday was going to go well. Her birthday started off well after her boyfriend Khali sang her “Happy Birthday.” However, things took a turn for the worst during her tag match, where she teamed up with Kaitlyn to take on The Bella Twins. When partner Kaitlyn was going to help Nattie by spearing Brie Bella, Brie ducked out of the way, and Kaitlyn accidentally speared Nattie instead. Brie got the win over Natalya. After the match, Natalya was left in tears after The Bella Twins called her a LOSER while singing their own rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Well, at least there’s always next year for a better birthday.

Summer Rae: Summer Rae won her first main roster match on RAW. Well, thanks to The Miz, she won. After taking Fandango down with a kick, Summer Rae went to check on her dance partner. Miz counted the pin, and Summer Rae won, although she didn’t seem to happy with what The Miz did. Hey, any win is better than no win, right? So why complain?

AJ: AJ attempted to help Big E Langston win his match against Alberto Del Rio on RAW when she exposed one of the turnbuckle posts for him to use. However, Del Rio countered and took Langston down with an enzuguiri for the win. After the match, AJ blames Big E for his loss because she tried helping him. Oh AJ, you have such a way with making men feel like they’re your little bitch.

Audrey Marie: On NXT, Audrey Marie competed against Emma in a match, hoping to get payback on her for interrupting her interview the previous week and poking her in the eye. Unfortunately, her plan of payback backfired, and Emma won after using The Muta Lock to make Audrey tap out. Poor Amy. Oh wait, I meant Alicia. Wait, what was her name again?

Emma: On NXT, Emma competed against Audrey Marie. With her EmmaLutioners behind her and after some EmmaLutionizing dance moves, Emma ultimately won the match after making Amy…no wait, Alicia…wait what was the name again? Oh well, she made someone that has the letter “A” in their name tap out for the win. Great interaction between the fans and Emma by the way. Loved it when she was popping bubbles with her dance moves.

Mickie James: New Knockouts Champion Mickie James came out and made a speech about her Knockouts Title win over Velvet Sky on Impact Wrestling. She’s happy to be Knockouts Champion again, but calls out her “dear friend” Velvet Sky because some people have doubted how she won her championship. After Velvet comes out, Mickie justifies that Velvet still wanted to compete, despite her injury and has the crowd give it up for how awesome of a champion Velvet WAS. Velvet thanks her and the fans, but then goes on to say she wants her rematch at Slammiversary, making Mickie jump to the fact that Slammiversary’s about Gail and Taryn because that’s what Brooke Hogan wanted. Out walks Gail Kim, who claims Mickie won the title because she softened Velvet’s knee. After Gail and Velvet have a heated exchange, Gail goes after Velvet’s knee. Mickie doesn’t do anything to help Velvet out. Luckily, Taryn came out just in time to save Velvet Wow Mickie, I didn’t know that’s what we do for “dear friends.” Mickie showed signs of a heel or tweener turn in this segment, and I’m loving it! I can’t wait to see her fully turn heel or tweener because she’s great at being both.

Velvet Sky: On Impact, Mickie James called her “dear friend” Velvet Sky out to justify that she still wanted to compete, despite her injury and has the crowd give it up for how awesome of a champion Velvet WAS. Gail goes on to say that after she finished Taryn off, she’s going after the Knockouts Championship. Velvet calls that a “negative” and says that she’s first in line for a shot at the title. Gail goes after Velvet’s knee, but Taryn comes out and makes the save, while Mickie walks away. If I were you Velvet, I wouldn’t call Mickie a “dear friend” of yours.

Gail Kim: On Impact, after having enough of hearing Mickie and Velvet talk, Gail comes out and puts her two sense into their conversation. She claims to have helped Mickie win her title match because she softened up Velvet’s knee for her. She goes on to talk about being frustrated as of late and says she’s coming for the KO championship after she finishes Taryn. After Velvet reminds Gail she’s first in line for a shot, Gail goes after Velvet’s knee, but gets chased off by Taryn Terrell. After the segment, Gail and Kenny King team up to face Taryn Terrell and Chris Sabin. Gail allowed Taryn to get the best of her at the beginning of the match. After getting involved twice by kicking Chris Sabin, and pulling his hair, Gail suffered from a spear at the hands of Taryn. Ultimately, her and Kenny lost the match. Gail’s ego must be getting a bit too big for Gail herself to handle. Despite that, I’m loving how Gail’s been so aggressive as of late.

Taryn Terrell: On Impact, Taryn Terrell saved Velvet Sky from Gail Kim hurting her knee even more. Their mixed tag match begins right away after that, as Taryn teams with Chris Sabin to take on Gail Kim and Kenny King. Taryn took control of the match early on, showing the veteran Gail that she is not to be messed with. Towards the end of the match, Taryn had enough of Gail getting involved, and she took her down with a spear. Chris Sabin picked up the win for both him and Taryn in the end. No one should ever mess with someone that’s a Hot Mess. Great aggression shown by Taryn in this match.

This week’s MVD is…

Emma!

It’s official: I love Emma! Originally, I wasn’t too thrilled about her having this dancing gimmick because I thought it would turn her into a joke like how the singing gimmick turned Jillian Hall into a joke. Boy was I wrong. The fans love Emma and her dancing. It’s great that Emma has already connected with the fans and that the fans have connected with Emma as well. Two of my favorite moments from Emma this week would have to be when kids from the crowd blew bubbles at her and she tried popping them with her dancing and when she had her music play during her match and started dancing to it. She put on a decent match with Audrey this week. It had the perfect combination of entertainment and wrestling. My favorite spot of their match was how Emma got Audrey locked in the Tarantula. All in all, a great week for Emma. By the way, if you’re reading this Emma, I am officially an EmmaLutioner : )

Come back next week to see who will be M.V.D. of the week. Thanks for reading!
