New England Championship Wrestling returns to the National Guard Armory, 1000 Hancock Street in Quincy , MA on Saturday night, February 16th with a 7:00 PM bell time for one of its biggest events of the year – a New England wrestling tradition – GENESIS 7 : BATTLE OF THE GIANTS.
The main event, decided at December’s TOXIC WALTZ, pits NECW Triple Crown Champion, Big Rick Fuller against the 2007 TOXIC WALTZ winner, Max Bauer. For perhaps the first time, Rick Fuller will not have an overwhelming size and power advantage over his opponent. Those who were in Quincy last Saturday night saw Bauer pin Fuller in an 8 man tag team elimination match. It is a golden opportunity for Bauer and a test like no other for the champion. It will truly be a ” Battle of the Giants” at GENESIS 7 with the Triple Crown on the line!
The final match in the NECW Tag Team Championship Tournament will take place as the team of Chase Del Monte and “Rocket” Fred Curry battle The Hot Shots. The winners will take home the coveted NECW Tag Team Championship – a title that has been vacant since June 30th.
GENESIS 7: BATTLE OF THE GIANTS will also feature four giant grudge matches – a quartet of bouts where pride is on the line and hatreds run deep:
GENESIS 7 will see the first one on one meeting of “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards and “The Infamous” Bobby Fish since Fish’s ankle was broken at the hands of Edwards at last June’s IRON 8 Championship.
Former Triple Crown Champion, D.C. Dillinger will have a day of reckoning in a one on one contest with former NECW Heavyweight Champion, “The Golden Greek” Alex Arion. Dillinger put Alex’s brother Frankie out of NECW permanently with a vicious attack several weeks ago. “The Golden Greek” is out for revenge over victory and he will have his chance at GENESIS 7.
“Straight Edge” Brian Fury has been the object of the wrath of Antonio “The Promise” Thomas for the past several months. Thomas has been completely obsessed with putting Fury out of NECW. Fury has not backed down one inch from the 80’s throwback and they will finally collide one-on-one at GENESIS 7.
Former NECW Heavyweight Champion, Michael Sain has pursued “The Human Nightmare” Evan Siks ever since he exploded back onto the scene here in NECW last August at BIRTHDAY BASH 7. Sain and Siks have been involved in numerous near-riot like brawls and now NECW officials have sanctioned a one-on-one collision between these two in a dog collar match. Each man will be wearing a dog collar with a heavy metal chain linking the two. The chain may used as a weapon and either a pinfall or submission decides the winner.
NECW Television Champion, Brandon Locke will see action in a return match against Handsome Johnny. Two months back, these two went to a time limit draw. Last month saw Locke get disqualified for unintentionally striking the referee. This one will be the rubber match with the stipulation that if Locke gets disqualified, the championship will change hands.
In addition, there will be a World Women’s Wrestling feature match, as “The Portuguese Princess” Ariel does battle with Luscious Latasha!
