New Guest Booker Has Jerry Jarrett Helm WCW in 2000

After Kevin Sullivan’s exit from the head booker spot in 2000, WCW was more or less in an irreversible nose-dive. Time Warner had succeeded in seeing that ‘rasslin was eradicated from its SEC filings forever. Vince Russo was reinstated and the rest is history.

But in reality, Jerry Jarrett had been contacted many times to come in and save the ailing federation. Now in the latest edition of the critically acclaimed “Guest Booker” series, Jarrett tells all about his dealings with WCW over the years. Jarrett is then given the opportunity to show what he would have done in April of 2000 if he’d accepted the company’s overtures.

In the popular DVD series, Jarrett talks about what he would have done from day one…and it involves assembling the entire roster in one room and dropping a bombshell of an announcement. “Tactics like this would likely have gotten him shot, stangled, or fired by Time Warner brass,” said Kayfabe Commentaries co-owner Sean Oliver. “But desperate measures were needed at the time. Jarrett is a ballsy guy and smart as all heck, so they just might have trusted his instincts, even if they seemed left-of-center. Who knows. But it’s fun to speculate.”

“Guest Booker with Jerry Jarrett” went on sale today at www.kayfabecommentaries.com.
