[Obituaries] Jim Wilson passed away on 2/2 from cancer at the age of 67. Wilson was a Georgia All-American football player, who played in the NFL for the 49ers and Falcons, and went on to wrestle in the 70s. He was somewhat of a controversial figure in pro wrestling as he lobbied for many years to get pro wrestling regulated by the athletic commission and attempted to unionize wrestlers. He eventually soured on the business after he claimed he was blackballed after refusing the advance of Jim Barnett, a gay promoter, who ran the NWA Georgia office in the 70s. .
