Each week Cathal Byron will provide OWW with a recap of pro wrestling news.  In “This Week in Wrestling”, he provide results, insight, and highlights from various wrestling promotions around the world.

 Here are this week’s highlights:

WWE has provided its affiliates with an updated list of future pay-per-views. The TLC event on December 16th, 2012 will be held at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York. Go to http://prowrestlingevents.webs.com/unitedstates.htm for info about upcoming shows.

NWA Chattanooga Results 5/25

  • Chip Day & Corey Hollis defeated Jason Hampton & Jason Collins, in a tag tournament qualifying match.
  • “Strong Style Psycho” Tank defeated “Hit For Hire” Bobby Moore
  • Ace Rockwell & Logan Alvey defeated  Gil Quest & CB Gibson, in a tag tournament qualifying match.
  • #1 Contender & “Future Legend” Kyle Matthews defeated “The Marathon Man” Chrisjen Hayme.
  • “Violent Passion” Patrick Bentley defeated Bryan Casanova, in a pose down contest.
  • “The Deadly Sin” Se7en defeated Drew Haskins, in a no count out match for the NWA Southern Heavyweight Championship.
  • Jessco Blue defeated  Shaun Tempers, via DQ due to Chrisjen Hayme’s interference.
  • Tag Team Tournament announced for 6/22

  • APW has live events each Friday at the Cherry Street Gym in Royston, GA 8PM Belltime.
  • APW Tag Champion Jeremy Vain def. Ballenger
  • NWA North Georgia Championship: James Blvd.(c) def. Kameron Kade and Joey Rhymer in a Triple-Threat Match by pinning Rhymer
  • Yassir Akbar def. Skirra Corvus (due to interference from NWA North GA Champion James Blvd.)
  • Jacoby Boykins def. APW Tag Champion J.T Talent
  • Shane Hexxon def. Chris Spectra
  • NWA Southern States Championship: Stryknyne def. Cali Cannon by Disqualification to retain the Southern States Championship (due to interence from Cali Cannons’ partner Shane Hexxon)
  • Brandon Parker, Scott Mayson, and Anthony Henry def. Shadow Jackson, Jamie Cruz, and Dustin Knight
  • APW’s next big supercard will fall on Friday night June 8th. APW Gamechanger featuring the Gamchanger Battle Royal.

NWA ANARCHY 5/26

  • NWA ELITE (CASANOVA & SEV7N) def JACOB ASHWORTH & SKIRRA CORVUS
  • JOHNNY DANGEROUS def JOHN SKYLER & STEVEN WALTERS to earn a spot in the GOLD RUSH match at HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT on JUNE 30.
  • NWA ANARCHY TV CHAMPION, BO NEWSOME claimed to have a pre-concussive syndrome and could not wrestle so introduced JACOBY BOYKINS to replace him in the title match.
  • JACOBY BOYKENS def SETH DELAY
  • JACOB ASHWORTH (replacing Zach Daniels) and JOEY RHYMER def TOMMY DANIELS & CB GIBSON by count out.
  • ANTHONY HENRY def BRANDON PARKER to retain the NWA ANARCNHY YOUNG LIONS TITLE.
  • ANDREW PENDELTON def BILLY BUCK to earn a spot in the GOLD RUSH match at HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT
  • In the SHAUN TEMPERS vs SLIM J, NWA ANARCHY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH, it appeared SLIM J had beaten Tempers and was new champion, until referee BRENT WILEY reversed the decision.  Wiley had been knock down during the match and referee DEE BYERS had made the pinfall count.  Wiley recovered in time to see BRODY CHASE intercept and use JERRY PALMER’s “Big Nasty” Ax handle on Tempers which Palmer had fed into the ring.  This followed earlier interference by The NWA ELITE who were chased off by the returning HATE JUNKIES that Wiley never saw.  Wiley’s decision was not well received by the fans nor Brody Chase and Slim J.

  • NWA RPW Tag Team Title Match:  Cash Vault (“Hit For Hire” Bobby Moore & Rob Adonis)(w/ Charlie Cash)(C) defeated J-Rod & Frankie Valentine (w/ Billy Knight) to retain
  • K.C. McKnight defeated “The American Wolf” Davey Richards
  • 4-Way Match – Loser Leaves Jimmy Rave Approved:  Corey Hollis defeated Patrick Bentley
  • NWA RPW Television Title Match:  Drew Adler (C) defeated Slim Jay via disqualification to retain
  • Small & Tall (Drew Adler & Slim Jay) defeated BFF (“Adorable” Anthony Andrews & “Marvelous” Michael Stevens)
  • Hot Like Lava (Cru Jones & Shaun Banks) defeated Washington Bullets (Jon & Trey Williams)
  • AJ Steele defeated Murder One via disqualification

NPWS

Former WWE & TNA Superstar Matt Hardy made his NPWS debut on 6/1.

Former WrestleMania star Leilani Kai made an appearance on 6/2.

NPWS will be taking a break for the remainder of June & will return mid July.

Hulk Hogan‘s Micro Championship Wrestling

Hulk Hogan‘s Micro Championship Wrestling will be holding 3 events at the Travis County Expo Center in Austin, Texas during the Republic Of Texas Biker Rally.

June 7th – 2 PM

June 8th – 2 PM

June 9th – Noon

DGUSA/EVOLVE

Colt Cabana will wrestle and be in the broadcast booth for color commentary at the EVOLVE cards on June 28th & 29th. This is the first time Cabana will wrestle for EVOLVE.

TNA President Dixie Carter announced on the live 5/31 episode of Impact Wrestling that the company would be creating a Hall of Fame and that the first inductee will be announced at the Slammiversary PPV on 6/10 in Arlington, Texas.
