    John Perin wrote: Dudley Clements (Steven Beresford) was killed in an auto accident on April 21, 1976 in Mercer County, Ohio. According to reports, he was the passenger in a vehicle driven by Jim Bernard, who was wrestling under the name of “The Brute” and who Clements was managing. The two of them had been on a card in nearby St. Marys, Ohio earlier that night. Authorities reported the vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete abutment. Bernard suffered a broken arm, cracked ribs and lacerations in the accident. Clements was 28 years old.
