Career Highlights

In The Beginning:

  • Marty Wright appeared in the movies “Any Given Sunday”, “The Replacements” and “The Transporter 2”.
  • October 15, 2004: Marty Wright was kicked out of Tough Enough IV try-outs for lying about his age (said he was 30, but actually 40).
  • December 2004: Due to his unmistakable charisma and passion for wrestling, Marty Wright was brought into OVW to train.
  • June 2005: Marty Wright debuted on OVW Television as “The Boogeyman”, a character that would jump to WWE quickly.
  • June 28, 2005 – Ohio Valley Wrestling: Jim Cornette revealed that The Boogeyman was Marty Wright from Tough Enough.
  • July 6, 2005 – Ohio Valley Wrestling: Seth Skyfire vs Cliff Compton ended in a No Contest when The Boogeyman showed up.
  • July 13, 2005 – Ohio Valley Wrestling: The Boogey Man (Marty Wright) cut a promo threatening everyone.
  • July 15, 2005 – Ohio Valley Wrestling: Nick Nemeth defeated Paul Burchill (Nemeth was attacked by The Boogey Man after the match).
  • July 16 and 17, 2005 – Live Event (SmackDown crew): The Boogeyman (Marty Wright) defeated Doug Basham.
  • ~~~Marty Wright apparently hyperextended both his knees working weekend live events and may need time off.
  • October 5, 2005 – OVW TV Taping: The Boogeyman returned to OVW and attacked Alexis Laree, until Chris Cage made the save.
  • ~~~Bobby Lashley showed up and defeated The Boogeyman in a short match at the end of the night.
  • The Boogey Man (Marty Wright) had his teeth knocked out doing a training match earlier in the year.

  • October 14, 2005 – SmackDown: Palmer Cannon introduced The Boogeyman who cut a creepy promo and smashed a clock over his head.
  • October 21, 2005 – SmackDown: The Boogeyman showed up and chanted some demonic creepy poems that scared all the Juniors.
  • October 28, 2005 – SmackDown: The Boogeyman showed up and cut another demonic promo and smashed a clock over his head!
  • November 2, 2005 – OVW TV Taping: The Boogeyman defeated Robert Fury.
  • November 27, 2005 – Survivor Series: Theodore Long w/Palmer Canon defeated Eric Bischoff with help from The Boogeyman!
  • November 30, 2005 – OVW TV Taping: The Boogeyman put Robbie Dewbar through the Spanish Announce Table.
  • December 5, 2005 – RAW: The Boogeyman made a brief appearance during the “Trial of Eric Bischoff” and freaked everyone out.
  • December 2, 2005 – SmackDown: The Boogeyman (debut) defeated Simon Dean (dragged to the ring by security) in a quick match.
  • ~~~The Boogeyman had a bizarre entrance with crazy music, lots of smoke, etc etc – oh yeah, and he ate live worms!!!!
  • December 7, 2005 – OVW TV Taping: The Boogeyman (Eating some Christmas worms) defeated Robbie Dawber in a Tables match.
  • December 9, 2005 – SmackDown: The Boogeyman defeated Ray Gordy with a mouthful of Night-crawlers!
  • December 16, 2005 – SmackDown: The Boogeyman defeated Nunzio w/Big Vito with live worms hanging from his mouth!
  • December 18, 2005 – Armageddon: The Boogeyman showed up and destroyed Santa Clause (Vito) and an Elf (Nunzio).

  • December 30, 2005 – SmackDown: Matt Hardy defeated John Bradshaw Layfield by Count Out when The Boogeyman interfered.
  • ~~~The Boogeyman stalked JBL and threw a handful of worms at him, but JBL pulled Jillian Hall in the path of the WORMS!
  • January 6, 2006 – SmackDown: The Boogeyman stalked John Bradshaw Layfield and shoved worms down Jillian Hall’s pants!!
  • January 13, 2006 – SmackDown: The Boogeyman stalked JBL and then bit Jillian Hall’s mole off her face and chewed it up!!
  • January 20, 2006 – SmackDown: Bobby Lashley defeated John Layfield w/Jillian Hall after distraction from The Boogeyman!
  • January 27, 2006 – SmackDown: John Layfield vs Scotty Too Hotty ended in a No Contest when The Boogeyman played his tricks!
  • ~~~The lights went out, red smoke filled the ring, and thousands of worms fell from the ceiling and Layfield fell onto them!
  • January 29, 2006 – Royal Rumble: The Boogeyman defeated John Bradshaw Layfield w/Jillian Hall with a Pump Handle Slam.
  • February 1, 2006 – OVW TV Tapings: The Boogeyman defeated “Fearless” Kasey James.

  • August 11, 2006 – SmackDown: Vignettes began to play, hyping the return of the Boogeyman (and he’s comin’ to get ya!).
  • August 16, 2006 – OVW TV Tapings: The Boogeyman made a special appearance to prepare for WWE return to the SmackDown brand.
  • August 23, 2006 – OVW TV Tapings: The Boogeyman put Jacob Duncan through a Table and unmasked him to reveal Ryan Wilson.
  • October 2006: Marty “The Boogeyman” Wright was apparently fired and rehired in the span of two weeks..

  • February 2, 2007 – SmackDown: Chris Benoit defeated Fit Finlay to retain the U.S. title with distraction from The Boogeyman.
  • ~~~The Little Bastard crawled out from under the ring and was chased around by The Boogeyman, thus distracting Fit Finlay.
  • February 8, 2007 – Deep South Wrestling: The Boogeyman wanted to eat Freakin’ Deacon’s spide [Willow] but Deacon retreated
  • February 9, 2007 – SmackDown: Fit Finlay defeated The Boogeyman (The Little Bastard interfered but was afraid of Boogeyman!)
  • February 16, 2007 – SmackDown: The Boogeyman beat Fit Finlay (The Little Bastard showed up, followed by a Little Boogeyman!)
  • February 18, 2007 – No Way Out: Fit Finlay and The Little Bastard defeated The Boogeyman and The Little Boogeyman.
